nope they are real cards. Random is random. and you can get what is called streaks. It's not a scam. You are aware or can be aware of the odds. They have to pay for the lights, the dealer, security etc somehow.

It's not a keypad, it's just a Roulette display board that shows the winning number. People will often block the main board, this is so the dealers will always have an unencumbered view of the winning number.
Why would they offer a truly fair game? They have to spend millions on the location and want to make money. So, unless someone is really dumb, everyone knows that any game in a casino favors the casino. The rules are set in that way, so the casino doesn’t have to cheat, only follow the rules of the game. If you change the rules in your favor, that’s cheating and they will remove you. The only part where this is not true is card counting. Card counters (as long as they work alone by simply just counting) follow all rules in the game but are still discouraged from playing. I actually don’t understand it, because you still can’t make that much money. You might run into several bad shoes and end up playing minimum bet bu only losing, and the few times you actually get a good true count and bet the maximum, you have to first cover all losses from before. Also, the table minimums and Maximums make sure you can’t go from 5$ a Hand to 5000$ a Hand when the count is good. And if you play in a team like the movie 21, you are breaking the rules (by sharing information with other players) and they can show you out.
And when you do win a jackpot of any kind, a casino can claim software malfunction in court. And take back every single cent. Gamble in casino never pays
After reading some of the comments here, I thought I would add mine which I originally posted on a Yelp review of a little Indian casino in Southern California, the Soboba. Here are the admonitions I gave then that are still true. To wit: 1.) DO NOT take any money to a casino you cannot afford to lose. If it's the rent money, your car payment, alimony, child support, whatever, DO NOT go gambling with it. 2.) Do not think that you can go to a casino and place a bet to double your money in an attempt to save yourself from some financial calamity. It will never happen and you will be in worse shape that when you started. 3.) Gambling is like any other addictive behavior, whether it's drugs, booze, nicotine or bedding butter-faced partners. If you can't just walk away, don't start. After all these years of going to all kinds of casinos in multiple states, here's some advice to heed: 1.) Know how much you are prepared to lose in the period of time you have allotted to going gambling. If you get to the end of your allotted time and still have money, get up and walk away anyway. You can always come back and lose it later. 2.) This is a rule of mine since I am almost exclusively a slots player. When you hit, you quit. Get off that machine and if the hit is good enough, walk away. As in #1, you can always come back and lose it later. 3.) Do not play when your "mojo" isn't there. If you're sucking at play, give it a break. Go watch some other player lose or win money. Study their playing habits. Just sit things out before trying again. 4.) You can do whatever you want, but I tend to not drink alcohol when gambling. My main aim when gambling is to deprive the casino of their money. I know that if I play too long they will win. The idea is to play for a very short period, win, and quit while I'm ahead. 5.) This one should probably be first on the list but it really takes patience to hone this skill. When you walk onto a casino floor, a) scan the lights on top of the machines and b) listen for the sound of machines hitting or paying out. If a lot of people are hitting it, the machines are hot and you should get some action in. If the place is relatively quiet yet there are a bunch of people playing, mo' bettah' you no play. In other words, if other players aren't hitting, the odds of you changing that are not in your favor. Good luck, have fun and may your game spit gold doubloons!

I've been in the casino biz for more than 20 years and can say almost everything in this video is BS. I tell players all the time that casinos give away money to at least 85% of the people that walk in the door. The problem is that next to nobody ever leaves with it. In UK its even worse than that. Popular casino 888casino (baring in mind in a VIP platinum member;highest there is) wagering is 30x, blakckjack etc only contributes to 10% of requirements, so a eye watering 300x wagering requirement! F*%k that sh*t
It’s much much more economical to pay for ur drinks / buffet, I’ve seen ppl spend hundreds or even more just to get a buffet comp’d, so you loose $1500 in an hour or two, but they gave you a free $30 buffet !
Not rigged all machines have to pay out a % of what they take in. More the bet more the machine pays out on the % but it may be once every 20 button pushes it pays out
I've seen empty tables fill up as soon as someone wins. My guess is the casino can use rigged tables to draw in bigger crowds. I've seen the ball land on numbers with little to no bounce. I'm not saying its magnets but I can realize when something didn't look natural. I haven't walked inside a casino in 3 years and I hope you do the same.
Resort fees are fairly new to Vegas. Started about 6 years ago or so, brought in from other city's that charge for everything. The thinking behind it is simple ( If they pay it everywhere else why not here too. ) **Most locals don't agree with all the new fees.**
easy way to avoid the resort fee - stay in a non-aligned (with a major casino...) hotel/motel, (in Vegss, read: Motel-6 or a Best Western...)and play in multiple casinos...

The Nora software thing is BS. Casinos track players and have been doing it for years even before computers. The fees are mainly a Las Vegas thing not Casinos in General. beware aware that the comp is a percentage of your play amount and there is no way that Casinos will give you comps more that what you play of even close.
Eric Gaulke when you put a card in a machine it calculates how much play on it at the tables the pit boss enters an average bet usually it is your first bet so when you ask for a comp they can see what kind of player you are and decide if they want to give it you or not
Slots machines and stuff track how much money is played with in a current session and someone will assign the people playing it to that machine and that’s how it tracks how you play.. it’s not complicated
They have to track players money because they need to know if you're spending in your means and looking for signs of problem gambling, plus people don't track it, when you give your players card, you automatically get tracked on every table and machine to check your drop, keep it fun

Those player cards track you as you go to each slot machine too. They will allow you to win a few, then tighten the machines as you start to get above a certain level of winnings. Tip: 1 don't use players cards on the machines. 2 if you REALLY need those comps so bad, first select a machine, then money in and spin your first bet. THEN insert your players card. Reason for this is the computer that tracks your play has to follow one strict rule.. it CANNOT change the algorhythim after a wager has been played. Once you play a wager, it locks the algorhythim in. So, money in, spin, then insert to collect comps.
@Jeff Sol ya, I've noticed that it doesn't work as well as it used to. Best not to use the card and just pay for your meals and rooms normally. It's much cheaper that way considering how much you need to lose to get those comps. I don't use players cards anymore. Why spend hundreds to get a free buffet worth $25? Or even thousands to get a free room worth $200/night? Nothing is free. Even when I play craps they don't rate me since I play pass/don't pass at the same time while taking full odds on the don't come. I get nothing for spending thousands on the craps table. I play high limit slots and did the spin then enter the card on $25 /2 credit slots. They only credited me 5 points and I spent $1500. I agree with you that they changed the programming on it. It's not a keypad, it's just a Roulette display board that shows the winning number. People will often block the main board, this is so the dealers will always have an unencumbered view of the winning number.

Why would they offer a truly fair game? They have to spend millions on the location and want to make money. So, unless someone is really dumb, everyone knows that any game in a casino favors the casino. The rules are set in that way, so the casino doesn’t have to cheat, only follow the rules of the game. If you change the rules in your favor, that’s cheating and they will remove you.
The only part where this is not true is card counting. Card counters (as long as they work alone by simply just counting) follow all rules in the game but are still discouraged from playing. I actually don’t understand it, because you still can’t make that much money. You might run into several bad shoes and end up playing minimum bet bu only losing, and the few times you actually get a good true count and bet the maximum, you have to first cover all losses from before. Also, the table minimums and Maximums make sure you can’t go from 5$ a Hand to 5000$ a Hand when the count is good.
And if you play in a team like the movie 21, you are breaking the rules (by sharing information with other players) and they can show you out.

After reading some of the comments here, I thought I would add mine which I originally posted on a Yelp review of a little Indian casino in Southern California, the Soboba. Here are the admonitions I gave then that are still true. To wit:
1.) DO NOT take any money to a casino you cannot afford to lose. If it's the rent money, your car payment, alimony, child support, whatever, DO NOT go gambling with it.
2.) Do not think that you can go to a casino and place a bet to double your money in an attempt to save yourself from some financial calamity. It will never happen and you will be in worse shape that when you started.
3.) Gambling is like any other addictive behavior, whether it's drugs, booze, nicotine or bedding butter-faced partners. If you can't just walk away, don't start.
After all these years of going to all kinds of casinos in multiple states, here's some advice to heed:
1.) Know how much you are prepared to lose in the period of time you have allotted to going gambling. If you get to the end of your allotted time and still have money, get up and walk away anyway. You can always come back and lose it later.
2.) This is a rule of mine since I am almost exclusively a slots player. When you hit, you quit. Get off that machine and if the hit is good enough, walk away. As in #1, you can always come back and lose it later.
3.) Do not play when your "mojo" isn't there. If you're sucking at play, give it a break. Go watch some other player lose or win money. Study their playing habits. Just sit things out before trying again.
4.) You can do whatever you want, but I tend to not drink alcohol when gambling. My main aim when gambling is to deprive the casino of their money. I know that if I play too long they will win. The idea is to play for a very short period, win, and quit while I'm ahead.
5.) This one should probably be first on the list but it really takes patience to hone this skill. When you walk onto a casino floor, a) scan the lights on top of the machines and b) listen for the sound of machines hitting or paying out. If a lot of people are hitting it, the machines are hot and you should get some action in. If the place is relatively quiet yet there are a bunch of people playing, mo' bettah' you no play. In other words, if other players aren't hitting, the odds of you changing that are not in your favor.

I've been in the casino biz for more than 20 years and can say almost everything in this video is BS. I tell players all the time that casinos give away money to at least 85% of the people that walk in the door. The problem is that next to nobody ever leaves with it. I've seen empty tables fill up as soon as someone wins. My guess is the casino can use rigged tables to draw in bigger crowds. I've seen the ball land on numbers with little to no bounce. I'm not saying its magnets but I can realize when something didn't look natural. I haven't walked inside a casino in 3 years and I hope you do the same.
Resort fees are fairly new to Vegas. Started about 6 years ago or so, brought in from other city's that charge for everything. The thinking behind it is simple ( If they pay it everywhere else why not here too. ) **Most locals don't agree with all the new fees.**

The Nora software thing is BS. Casinos track players and have been doing it for years even before computers. The fees are mainly a Las Vegas thing not Casinos in General. beware aware that the comp is a percentage of your play amount and there is no way that Casinos will give you comps more that what you play of even close.
Eric Gaulke when you put a card in a machine it calculates how much play on it at the tables the pit boss enters an average bet usually it is your first bet so when you ask for a comp they can see what kind of player you are and decide if they want to give it you or not
Slots machines and stuff track how much money is played with in a current session and someone will assign the people playing it to that machine and that’s how it tracks how you play.. it’s not complicated
they do it by the length of time you spend playing at the tables
They have to track players money because they need to know if you're spending in your means and looking for signs of problem gambling, plus people don't track it, when you give your players card, you automatically get tracked on every table and machine to check your drop, keep it fun

Those player cards track you as you go to each slot machine too. They will allow you to win a few, then tighten the machines as you start to get above a certain level of winnings.
Tip:
1 don't use players cards on the machines.
2 if you REALLY need those comps so bad, first select a machine, then money in and spin your first bet. THEN insert your players card.
Reason for this is the computer that tracks your play has to follow one strict rule.. it CANNOT change the algorhythim after a wager has been played.
Once you play a wager, it locks the algorhythim in. So, money in, spin, then insert to collect comps.
@Jeff Sol ya, I've noticed that it doesn't work as well as it used to. Best not to use the card and just pay for your meals and rooms normally. It's much cheaper that way considering how much you need to lose to get those comps. I don't use players cards anymore. Why spend hundreds to get a free buffet worth $25? Or even thousands to get a free room worth $200/night? Nothing is free.
Even when I play craps they don't rate me since I play pass/don't pass at the same time while taking full odds on the don't come. I get nothing for spending thousands on the craps table.
