    These are great. I've put myself on a political 'news' blackout and am listening to these and various UK and US radio shows for the last months.

    the AI image is post-Great War -- the book was from before

    • @jessamysilverman3058
      @jessamysilverman3058 10 месяцев назад +9

      The great war is the first world war, 1914-18. The book written in 1931 so a few years before the second world war 1939-1945 (I'm British hence the dating), which makes the picture pretty well dated. Sorry to be picky but I was a little taken aback at your dating of the great war.

    There is something that doesn't quite 'gel' with a Continental detective dealing with mostly ordinary class crime in a Continental setting.
    Lacks a certain ... je ne sais pas, in the absence of an English setting.

    Nice English. Not as incredibly reduced as US "tump-istan" english.
    Not as elaborate as fairly decent british english is though.
    At least the speakers try to add some (pronouciation) level on top of the written script.
    The cheap, anoying adds interrupting the listening are launched by chineese advertizers trying to promote bullshity hair, beard and parfume products.
