The plague card does not flip over! It stays hidden and forms a new card pile. It is possible to gain multiple of these cards during one round. When the invader phase begins, THEN you flip over the full deck of plague cards that you unlocked (most of the times this is just one single card) and only then are you able to see what the card is bringing you.
Came here to say this, and yes, you're correct. It does not take effect "right now!" 3:08 as in when you draw it. The mistake is understandable given Spirit Island's complexity, as it's almost impossible to adequately explain all of the intricacies of the game in just a few minutes. Understandable, but still wrong. Even the Fear Cards have a level of complexity to them, with only the action for the current Fear phase affecting the game board. Even then, you could draw the last card in the the first Fear stage and move to Fear stage 2, and so for that card that you just drew the second Fear action will be in effect even though you drew the card while in Fear stage 1. That's just one particular mechanic of the game. Spirit Island is a lot of fun, but it's not a board game for the casual gamer.
This has become my go-to channel when dusting off previously played games where I need a refresher. Thanks!
Nice overview, helps to understand the gist of the gameplay when going through the rule book :)
You can 'forget' any power, now just from your hand. You can forget a power from a discard when gaining a major power. Good overview though!
Extremely helpful before diving in
Insanely good explanation with great flow from rule-to-rule.
Thanks for the summary. I'll be playing this one in a couple of hours.

@@johngodwin6890 Sorry, language barrier. I own a different language version of the game.
Short and sweet. 9/10
This is a beautiful explanation! Great to get started.
1:41 *right-most uncovered space. The left-most uncovered space is always the lowest one.
Nice job. This is a complicated game. At 1:40, should it be the rightmost uncovered number rather than the leftmost?
Yes, it should be
Great overview. Thank you!
