Skillet went from a grunge sound in the 90s, a electronic sound in the early 2000s, hard rock/metal from 03-09, and now they are combining them all into their music. These guys and gals are awesome.
I never heard his earlier songs before 2009.

Actually "monster" and "back from the dead" are meant to be in order, they share the same story
I'm pretty sure Skillet's been running with a semi-connected story with each album going all the way back to Alien Youth and going up to Victorious. I've had this theory and I've been writing up a document that I'm thinking about making a video on once the album is out. It's actually quite an interesting story.
