@@maxotto9877 I think you're right, well wait a minute, James has bass notes to Orion tattooed on his arm. I think Cliff was able to lay down the bass for To Live Is To Die, but, I think Orion was his last song. Idk, you might be right.

I think Cliff would approve. This is the beautiful, classical touch/feel that Cliff admired and envisioned with some of the music he brought and wrote. Somewhere, Cliff is smiling listening to this. Well done.

Absolutely beautiful. Never thought I would hear a guitar solo played so smoothly on a piano. This version really gives you the sense of classical influence behind it. Especially by Cliff Burton.
Pepe Peperonia eran honestos con ellos mismos y su música. Luego el dinero habló y habla por ellos. Ya se parecen a la basura de Kiss con su mercadeo de artículos inútiles.

Im not a huge Metallica fan, having grown up with them, being a bass player i do love whis particular piece, but the point i really like to make, Metallica helped start the whole thrash genre, which started out as "devil music", being part of a scene that wasnt supposed to last,to a point of achievement that not only have they been labeled as one of the most influential bands EVER, put themselves in the Guinness book of world records for playing every continent, songs being immortalized in the Library of Congress, now their at a point of cultural influence that you hear Metallica's music being transposed into classical pieces, high school band sings, ive even heard it as jazzy dinner music ,THAT my friends is some SERIOUS achievement for a band/scene we shouldnt even be hearing according to the "experts", and in all honesty, giving credit where its due how can anyone ever really say the phrase "Metallica suck"!?, Compared to what? Theyve accomplished more in their career than any other band, can you just imagine what they wouldve done if Cliff was still alive? METALLICA THIS 🤘🤘🤘🤘IS FOR YOU🤘🤘🤘
Laurence Pinney Look at Mr Fancypants here trying to point out how much he knows about musical theory. I think the point herbal wizard was trying to make is that the song has classical sounding elements. The part that starts about 4 minutes into the song with that amazing bass line and the guitar harmony over the top would not sound out of place in a Beethoven song. The song starts off simply because it is about the simple beginnings of the cosmos, and the swirling back and forth between the A-B-C, C-B-A riffs captures that feeling perfectly, at least in my opinion. Orion is a masterpiece and has been studied and reconstructed by many classical conductors. It is a very sophisticated piece. Pointing out that it is simple in some places does not change that.
Ben G You cant compare Metallica to classical music, there is just no way. Metallica is good and all but they are no prodigys (spelling?), sure clip implemented some classical elements here and there, but thats it.
Laurence Pinney I would agree that it's a poor comparison, but your statement that "dissonant triads are the opposite of musical sophistication" really isn't true at all.
