    They have to roll it over into another business because farming itself is barely profitable, and now you have the WEF forces people to farm less because of Net Zero, nonsense, that man is very short sighted.

    The food security argument is ridiculous. This country is not capable of meeting demand, it hasn't been for any of our lifetimes.
    If it's not profitable for our farmers to grow certain crops but we can import them cheaply from places where they can then that's what we'll do.
    Crop yields are down (thanks climate change) and will likely keep falling over time. Incentivising farmers to move away from it and use more land for trees will be beneficial long term.
    Sorry some farmers will lose their livelihoods but so did plenty of working class people with no million pound assets when they shut down the factories and mines.
    I think pushing farmers to cash in on the land is part of the goal. It's not like they're getting nothing back.
