Israel’s Eurovision participation protests by thousands in host city Malmö

- Thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters marched through the Swedish city of Malmö against the inclusion of Israel in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest amid the country's current military campaign in Gaza.
Counter-protesters rallied to support Israel’s entry, Eden Golan, who is singing Hurricane, written as an Israeli perspective to Hamas’ attack on Israel on 7 October and the psychological impact on Israelis in its aftermath.
Eurovision’s organisers have resisted calls to exclude Israel over its military campaign in Gaza, triggered by Hamas' 7 October attack, arguing that the event is not political.
