I can't believe 8 years has passed since this video. I'm glad it has survived all this time. My original goal for uploading this was to give the Atelier series more exposure because i loved the aesthetic of the games and the world the characters lived in. It wasn't well known at that time so i thought maybe this will help and i'd like to think it did.
Gradually, through the release of Sophie, Firis and eventually to Ryza which greatly increased in popularity. I feel that Atelier has a lot of untapped potential and i look forward to see how they will evolve the series. If you aren't sure about playing the games, you can check out the anime adaptation of Atelier Escha & Logy that was released in 2014. It's not a perfect anime nor a thorough adaptation of the game but hopefully you can find something to like about it. With that, thank you for reading this and listening to the song!

personaly my favorite opening from of all the atelier games. its really breathtaking and so serene. the others are good, but this one is unique. also i think the Atelier Shallie has some of the best OST
The dusk trilogy is what made me interested in Atelier, normally I dont like turn based rpgs, but the vibes in the whole trilogy are just incredible. I wish there were other games in the series with the same melancholy setting.
The final chorus is just... damn...
I kept coming back to this song for so long now. There's just something beautiful and tragic at the same time about this song that makes one want to listen to it over and over.
This song is quickly becoming my favorite song in recent years. The music is just too beautiful for words to describe.

The lyrics "Black night is coming from above, no one can escape, nowhere to hide anymore, we'll fall into an endless sleep" are quite chilling, representing how the dusk is bringing them to the brink and they can no longer escape or hide from the problem and they're close to an "endless sleep"
It's a shame the dusk was never really given much more explanation even in the plus version and we don't get to see the future outcome.
Maybe the dusk series gets a 4th entry, just like the arland series is getting one.
For me it is implied that it is impossible even for alchemists to fix the world. The only thing, as the songs describes and Keith says at one point, is to stop making things worse, and wait for the nature to adjust itself, even at the cost of the entire civilization disapearing. The dusk series tells us what the Atelier games always suggested: this happened several times: civilizations discover alchemy, abuse it and eventually dissapear because of it. That is the meaning behind the onmipresent ruins in every single Atelier title. Dusk series is just another alchemists story, but this time it occurs in the last moments of a civilization that already completed its cycle.
This is what I understood, and I'm fine with things ending that way.
However, if the series do get a 4th entry, I'll throw a party and everyone is invited.

holy crap the Dusk Trilogy is so depressing XD and this opening makes me die inside of sadness and want to cry. its good because im so emotionally numb and trapped inside, that this is good it makes me feel, makes me more human feeling, its a good pain.

i still think Escha & Logy's opening is a bit better, but this is a close second... also, there are like 15+ Atelier games. :)
