Can the Genesis compete with the Super NES in the music department? F-Zero Super NES vs Genesis

If F-Zero came out of the Genesis would it sound better then on the Super NES?
F-Zero is set in the future where high-speed racing takes place using futuristic hovercars called "F-Zero machines." The gameplay is known for its fast-paced, adrenaline-pumping races on futuristic tracks that defy gravity. The tracks feature sharp turns, loops, jumps, and other obstacles that challenge the player's racing skills.

Snes definitely sounds better but the way the genesis drums hit is better

I just think there's more going on with the Super Nintendo versions that the Genesis remixes with one exception, although the Red Canyon Genesis remix gets almost to the SNES's standard: The Fire Field remix seems clearly superior to the rather hokey Super Nintendo version. I was never a fan of that song on the game, if I were playing the game on Genesis it most certainly WOULD have been one of my favourites.

The SNES had a dedicated music chip, if I'm not mistaken. That's why it sounds so good

The Genesis also had a dedicated sound chip but it was more like a midi sound blaster than a digital sound card.

The answer is no, it would not sound better. But it would sound like a very solid approximation.
And a game isn't just music, so I think we'd need to hear them side by side with all the music plus all the in-game sound fx at once to get a better idea.
Also, best to keep in mind the Genesis version was made with literally more than three decades of time to work on the most advanced sound drivers and to hone everything to perfection there. The SNES version ain't even using its Dolby Surround sound option as one way it could immediately be even better in 2024+, never mind what might be possible if using the most advanced sound drivers that can be made now, the highest quality samples possible, plus over three decades of learning and such.
So, yeah, I don't think we're comparing F-Zero audio like for like here, and I think the SNES would win under equal conditions.
PS. I think we should also consider what I said above again regarding a game not just being music, because what we really should compare is the best version of full F-Zero the Genesis can manage next to the best full version of F-Zero the SNES can manage (which is far beyond even the current version), and then I think any debate would be instantly silenced--because that's really what this is all about at the end of the day.
