wow good old days born in 1955 Victoria road attended the royal beacon primary school then to secondary modern 1st year separate boys & girls went to swimming pool regularly swam for schools still living in exmouth wouldn't want it any other way so exmouth born bred & probably dead keep up the good work
Nope. 1:44 “An old house at the mouth of the Docks” is the Old Customs House and ”The Old Customs House for the Dock” is the old wooden Pier Café, demolished around 1980 - now replaced by a modern brick-built restaurant known as “Rockfish”, shown at 15:55 . 6:32 The Smiths, who ran Exmouth Zoo. We were next door neighbours and they used to bring some of their (tame) animals home, including the monkey in the film. Once, we had to return the snake (also shown in the film) which had slithered across from their balcony to ours and was happily resting in our lounge!
Wow Elizabeth Hall is gone!! It really breaks my heart, first the shanties went, then the seafront was turned into flats for the richest, so much as been lost, a whole way of life is gone forever... And I for one, really don't like the so called "improvements" Exmouth just isn't Exmouth anymore.
Thanks for uploading this video. I attended Rolle College 1980's, still miss Exmouth but go back every now and again.
