No one is WC until these WC abilities win a trophy, they may be in the conversation and that's about it. I don't see Rice as a 6 in this system, he has been mostly crap in that role (IMO), he's nowhere near the level to play as a lone 6. Even after Arteta training him to play as 8 and learn his back to goal game, flexibility and ability on the half turn and game IQ to receive a pass under pressure without having to drop deep and having to see the whole field. He has to play as a box to box with someone like J20 or Partey as a 6, Hope he completely transitions into a 6 next season and this will be the last season we see him as a 8.

Do think Martinelli is not being maximised and this has been a problem on the LHS for a while. But at the same time we've seen Trossard on the left put in very different performances out there. He needs to be used like he was in 22/23, or, if we want soemthing else out there, then sign a LW who can do that.
No problem seeing best 11 without Rice atm. He is obviously the future 6 but who makes the progressive passes. Presume Calafiori and Timber Zinchenko White inverting options... but none have quality of Partey in that respect.
Martinelli is massively lacking in technical and tactical aspects of the game. His ball manipulation isn’t good enough, he was up against a 17 year old winger and barely took him on. His weight of pass is often poor, over hits passes because he often rushes his work. We need better in that position.
@@Lordchevy1 Those are traffic options that would aid our attack significantly. I would love to see Kvicha from Napoli in our team too. He’s great 1v1, lethal in transition, great with both feet, ball striking is top and overall an intelligent footballer 😊

Think you’re a little harsh on Rice if I’m honest. First half he was really good. Decisive in the final third & willing to carry the ball. Enjoyed him when he got involved with the right side too. He tailed off a little bit in the second but happy to put that down to a little lull from us & the toe.
Its good that Partey and Merino can play and Rice doesn't have to play 90 min every game now. I would rest him against Westham and start against United
Agreed. I actually think Rice had a good game. He was just eating up those second balls. I loved his movement when we were in possession too. He was much more eager to get on the ball and influence the game. I've been begging to see that from him. Very encouraging.
@ yeah it’s just nice to have bodies back in midfield honestly Looks like we’re seeing more Nwaneri minutes too so even Ø doesn’t have to play full 90s.
As amazing as Odegaard is, nobody serious will call him "the system". You're comparing a team w/o Timber and Calafiori, injured Ben White and Rice, our best 6 was at RB ,no senior RCM vs one with all of them, and Odegaard. A lot of confounders here, don't make causal claims based on correlation Ø is obviously one of the best and important tho
Odegaard is the most important player for sure in this system doesn't mean he is the system or he is even the best player in any given match. It's like an orchestra, there is a composer (Arteta), a conductor (Odegaard) but every other player makes the difference BECAUSE of Odegaard. He has to be man marked and in a game that is 11 v 11 and no one can figure out how to man mark Odegaard.
Nwaneri got 8 minutes of play time last weekend and +-15 minutes today Slowly making progress 😅 Mikel was right about Ethan (Vs. Sporting prematch conference) and I trust Mikel will manage him well
@@simonoliver6393 Agree - the genius in someone on the football pitch when the game is about running and athleticism just cannot be understood and that's why its genius. Bergkamp and messi are good comparisons although Martin is not on their levels just yet- but Martin also adds the captaincy, coordinating the press and gameplay state dynamic which makes him a player to have no comparison to at arsenal or maybe even in the EPL other than maybe KDB.
Is Timber WC? Seriously? He hasn’t put a shot on frame yet and for all his crosses he has 1 assist. White has been injured and Timber is not giving us a significant impact on either side of the ball. Martinelli doesn’t make the runs you want him to because when he did last year, he never got service. Why make the runs if the ball is never coming? Defensively he tracks back better than Saka and is better defender. I say that because the attacks that go down that side get recycled back because the left is in a better defensive posture quicker. Take a look at Martinelli’s goal. Havertz makes it possible by holding off 2 defenders so the ball could go through to Martinelli. Have some respect for the work he does. Havertz moves people to make goals possible for others. He is a better player than you give him credit for.
@@kunimitsune177 what good are overlapping runs if you are not a threat to score or create goals? If you are World Class you defend and are a threat in the final third.
What is the fear among Arsenal fans to say that Rice is not really as good as our hype? Guy is so one dimensional and pray technical player on this Arsenal team
...because that's bollocks - he was outright imperious last season. This season he clearly hasn't been performing to the same level but he has still been largely solid; if and when he gets back to his best we will be a better team for it.
