I bought the gamut 2.0 a number of years ago, and I take that thing everywhere! It's my go-to work bag, carryon, and general purpose EDC bag. I like the fact that Vertx is always looking to improve their products. One thing I don't particularly care for is the two side admin pouches behind two water bottle pouches in the 2.0. If you use the water bottle pouches, you can't put anything in the admin pouches. Great video, and now I think I might need a new bag... 😂
I believe that everyone has a " get home bag" as far as carrying a bag all day just to say I carry one is not me. I have several BugOut bags in my truck, and I'm never more than a brisk walk to my truck. I do have an EDC bag that I take on hiking and / or trips that I will be away from my truck for more than a few hours. I tend to think of the worst-case scenario and build around that. Granted, if I'm broke down and can't use my phone, I have a BugOut bag with what I need to survive for a 3-5 day trip back home
I have 1 of those lil matador blanket things, they are so cool because on each corner is a lil metal tab you can anchor into the ground so it doesnt blow away, great review, you got a new sub here.
Just picked up a ready pack and I’m using the integrated grab handle way more than I though. Really nice feature. Just wish they would do a few more color ways.
I agree with you. I will say o have one of those decorative hanks my wife gifted me.. has robots because my son loves robots on one side and microfiber on the other side but I will say I use it. Wish the decorative side was more useful and absorbed liquid but it’s like khaki pant material. All in all it’s not too bad because I use it. I think if there’s a practical use for it great but if not I completely agree, it’s dumb
Nice setup. Especially because it is not overloaded. I hate it, when I do not have the possibility to ad something to the bag I bought, if it is a souvenir when on a trip or something I forgot on the last shopping trip. I am not a big fan of those water bottle pockets. First of all, in an EDC bag I had to many bottle fall out when swinging the bag around to access something. Second, I think they make the bag to wide when in crowded places. Wonder if that concealed carry compartment could be used for something else.
Love my Vertx Gamut 2.0, but it's a little bit big for EDC to my taste. But if I have to travel somewhere for a couple of days, it's my go-to bag of a choice. Thanks for the video. Always enjoy your stuff ;)
You think the gamut is too big? It’s a long bag but I don’t think it holds a lot of stuff in the main compartment. The sides of the bag are so low you can’t really pack it.
I know this isn't a car EDC but I was wondering if you know of a way to safely store water in your car in hot environment's? For example I buy cases of water but your not supposed to let plastic water bottles come in contact with sun or heat cause it will leach chemicals. I've been checking out a lot of your videos and I really like your content. Thank you for your service sir!
I would invest in some larger stainless steel (single wall) water bottles, like the ones from Kleen Kanteen. They have 64oz that won't leech anything into your water supply, and in a pinch you can boil water in them.
I have the same bag! When my son, a Raider visited recently, I had custom flags made for him and his guys, but I had my pack like this, embroidered with REI's logo on the back of bag, changed the zippers and the ccw pull handle out, and so far no one has noticed I guess as I travel! Will be heading to overland expo coming up with the new f550 build and Sprinter build so will see if anyone says anything! I have Esees slightly larger kit, but keep an E4 in there with the kit among a few other items. I use the WITR note pad as well jic I have to rip something out to hand to someone. I have the same keyboard, but I also use the MX mouse, and I stopped carrying my macbook as it is pretty large, been leaving it in my van or truck while traveling, so far been using ipad mini 6, and has done everything I needed as I used my laptop for, and since it doesnt have that keyboard case the larger ipads can have and use, the keyboard was perfect! Usually I have my phone next to my tablet and I watch my kids who are in different places, one stationed in Japan, another working as a nurse in the UK, but sometimes they stream games they play and though they tried to get me into games I am just to old and not very adept at them, but I enjoy watching them play and learning the different stories in their games by watching. So work on ipad, watch on phone. I keep a dark angel med kit in mine. Was living that van life traveling, and at a stop light looked L and saw a man apart of a landscaping crew, his edgers blade, splintered and a piece went into his arm just above the elbow, I ran out of my van to apply a TQ, so since, have been carrying at least 3 in my bag as they dont take that much room. I keep gym shorts, and shirt, extra pair of socks and boxers, have a bathroom kit, toolbrush, floss, etc. Now with summer here and more traveling to do, weddings to attend, I am going to be switching to their navigator sling, I have black, blue, and red, going to have those embroidered too, to look like REI slings haha. When their socp fanny originally came out, I used it heavily, but waiting for their redesign and drop of one without the weird plastic phone holder. Heard from my wife, that they are redesigning a diff version that will have an extra front pocket area vs that plastic. I ended using the plastic area for booboo kit, worked fairly well! But also been using Field Craft survivals recent fanny pack drop with this bag, and was up at a BFgoody off road event in Utah, and nobody noticed either bags! I carry off body in the different slings if I am in very thin or light clothing that doesnt allow for on body. I have been using a P320 for the past 2 years, but for a few months have been carrying the new 365 xmac, and its thinner and lighter, great for carrying in the sling bags. But I also have the matador brand you talk about here, they have a strap pouch for cellphone and small items, I just ordered that 2 days ago, to have on the same strap as my fieldcraft fanny, as I saw someone else using that combo on a forum on fb, so hoping that will declutter my light carry. P365xmac w/17rd mag and 2 21rd mags, usbc coast single cell light, a sog power pint, a granola bar, 2-3 walmart GV drink mixes. tube tylenol, tube aspirin, hand sanitizer, 6ft mini tape measure, ip14pm or s23ultra phone, eye drops, dust mask, and a challenge coin or two!
How do you prevent crack heads from smash & grabbing your Vertex? Lately they have been stealing everything from hello kitty bags to gucci tactical bags.
I need a small pouch to go inside my backpack to carry items like a knife, multitool, lighter, tape, 550 cord and a few other small things. Any recommendations?
For my backpack, I use a really sketchy Amazon bag. Cost about $25. I am too old to hump a ruck, or spend hundreds on a pack
Why use it if it’s sketchy lmao, spend another 25-50 and get a bag that you know isn’t sketchy. Too old or too lazy?
Just invest the 100$ in a VIKTØS or a Maxpedition bag and have one that lasts a lifetime instead of buying a 25$ bag every 3-4 years.

Nice bag man! It’s pretty sharp! And thank you for your service!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸

I advise having season packs,
If you live in a warm climate area there’s no point in carrying a rain coat during the summer etc
So glad I got my vertx when I did. These things have jumped $100+ since then!!!
Only negative with this design is it is not designed to freestand.
Good stuff! Take care and keep up the good work!
I like Vertx bags, I have a couple from years past that I have used and abused and they are excellent.
They really are good stuff.
I usually carry a tech pouch in my backpack with chargers, headphones, cables and such
yup, i have a video on that. ruclips.net/video/S1_1pJEg_Nw/видео.html
Smart

Isn't that grab handle awesome?
your garage studio looks bad ass!

Yes sir love the bag u all get the coolest bag and pouches knives keep it coming bro
thanks much
Love my Vertex backpack, thank you
I'm considering VERTX as my air travel bag.

One complaint I’ve had about every Vertx bag I’ve owned is the inability to stand it upright unless it’s loaded perfectly
Klyde Warren is a great park
Completely agree.
Have you ever considered organizing your pack utilizing grey man MOLLE panels? I’d like to hear you review them.
This bag looks amazing, definitely need to upgrade my edc backpack

It's so durable
I prefer GoRuck packs. Their slick packs go from the field to the office and everything in between.
Good looking bag

Great review! Watched your readypack reviews as well. Looking to pick one up. Which do you now prefer, the readypack or the gamut for your edc?
Pocket knife?
Good review. I'm looking at this bag and the 511 Covert18 2.0. Any thoughts? Thanks
I love the Covert18 2.0. I did a video with it here. ruclips.net/video/L6LgHv-yD9Y/видео.html but my vote is the Gamut
Nice set up in the back
What Watch are you wearing?
Do you think the 3.0 is worth buying if you already have the 2.0? Cant seem to replace my baby yoda color
Nope. Not worth the upgrade
@@MarineX do you use this as an edc bag and also have a get home bag in your truck?
Yup, totally separate bags. Here is my get home bag ruclips.net/video/Mfh2cv2fF3o/видео.html
Where can I get the back pack in the thumbnail
shareasale.com/r.cfm?b=2075495&u=3132244&m=127351&urllink=&afftrack=
It's called the Gamut
First! Ahh yes! Been waiting for this!!
Why?
He's been waiting on the video my guy
I was looking at this review as a gun bag for an sbr kinda disappointed there was no firearm aspect to this video especially Marine EDC 🙄
Can civilians buy this bag ?
