As much as many of us don't realize it, we are truly truly blessed to be born in a generation that saw the legacy of Roger Federer. 20 years down the line, many children would still be watching these videos, and hoping they were one of us. I am so proud to be a fan of a sport that is dominated by such brilliance, honesty and humbleness. Many would criticize him, but thats the mark of a champion. People bring you down, and you stand up and fight it all. I love this guy...

Federer is not only the greatest tennis player of all time, he is the best athlete of al time. He is so devoted to tennis and he just loves the sport. He uses his position well, he helps people with less chances, not only he has his foundation, he also plays exhibition matches like The hit for Haïti, hell, he even organized it! This man is amazing. How can anyone possibly hate him?
I hear you. He's on a different level of physical expertise. All his movements are fluid (he flows, nothing jerky). There's no waste of energy. It's as if he's a Zen master of movement (and touch of ball). On top of that, he's a class act. It's been an honor to have witnessed him.

I've played tennis for 11 years,since my 6 to my 17,now I'm 18,and this guy is just one of the best,IF NOT THE BEST,player I've ever seen in my entire tennis life.
I know nothing about tennis. That being said, I was awe struck with the backwards and inbetween his legs return!!!! What a joy to watch such an amazing talent. Roger is brilliant, highly skilled, good looking and a true gentleman. Why can't our kids today look up to role models like this? For one thing.....Roger is Real!

I don't know if you are playing tennis, but I can tell you, hitting those shots is like the perfect state of mind. You know it's going to hit, already before it hits the ground. It's a feeling. Federer does not think while playing, he just does. That's what makes him the best. He knows his shots will hit, and this confidence in himself makes him such a great player. Nadal recently achieved this with his forehand, which is now the most powerful (not most beatiful) forehand in the world.
Roger may be the greatest in terms of record and technique. But those heart breaking losses over the last 4 years has made him even more great and lovable... A true genius... A wizard...

Nevermind..you are right! I had forgotten about Sampras having the best second serve of all time. Serve and volley does not work anymore..but I love seeing net play and he always made tennis entertaining. Federer turned tennis into ballet (in a good way). I had the pleasure of watching Federer play Sampras in an exhibition and it was amazing to see someone playing serve and volley against Federer.. these days

there have been some tremendous tennis players like laver, mcenroe, borg, sampras. But none of them have consistently produced the level of genius shown by federer. He has taken the game to a new height. His seven year stint from 2003-2009 might be the greatest in any sport. Even when people said his game had supposedly diminished he was still in the final or SF of a slam. We should all be so lucky if that is considered failure.

I agree with you. Federer's "style/ease/grace" is what makes him a great player. Nadal is a great player too...no doubt about that, but I'm part of the group who's favorite player is Roger.
