How can a ranger in full mallcrawer spec ( cheap lift, ugly flares and no bullbar) get bogged? Flares make all the difference, just asks any city slicker mallcrawer

I can just imagine how mad people are when they can't even move and you drive around them stop turn around back down and then get the strap tight and gently power them out. Its hilarious and awesome. Agree but when a mate had an accident up there a few years ago the Cop Dogs asked him if his tyre pressures were as per manufacturers spec , lucky he was clever enough to know the pricks were trying to stitch him up so avoided that answer .

Most of these modern cars look like they have ram raided ARB the amount of life enhancing shit they have hanging off them. They would weigh twice what an old Landy would weigh. That was back in the day when you were pissed before you got off the barge. Now I would not bother with the island if you paid my barge fee, it's a sand pit full of morons.

Went thru there last september in a 99 duel cab hilux, manual na diesel. 15psi 3rd low range. Floored it all the way through, no issues. Went through and back. Was just very bumpy. My parents 105 lc would’ve been the same if the clutch didn’t cook on the way back.
The two landcruisers I've had have been useless in sand in low range. Centre diff lock ok but locks need to be off front and rear. This combination and a light throttle keeps it on top of the sand. It seems like many here don't know what works for their vehicle.
I'd probably add that they're always dragging their rear leaf springs through everything. If you've followed a 70 on soft sand tracks on Fraser and they always make one mark with the front wheels, a different one with the back, and inside of both are leaf spring marks. And once you get hung up on a leaf spring it takes weight off the wheel.
Expensive doesn't mean capable. 79's are mostly useless buckets of crap offroad. That's why 79 owners only wheel with other 79 owners. They know they will be embarrassed by everything else
79s are an extremely capable 4wd.... once you spend 40k on top of purchase price... but, the handbrake still wont work, However, Toyota promises and engineering fix by 2028.

@@bycrikeymodels I would of thought it was the 2 Ute's that he had to help pull out that chopped the sand up , as they where running high pressure in tyres , that's my 80 series I send the video to bogged action , it was my first time doing any sand recovery and the two utes that I was helping had even less of a clue , any advice would be helpful, I was also told the strap should of not been twisted , its a learning curve for me

I believe that amateur 4wd people are the only ones that need them cause ill tell you we have been to the furthest corners of Australia. north east south and west and if you have correct tyre pressure you will be ok. P.S we drive a 3.2l v6 frontera 31' tyres. goes hard

The purple one is a winch extension strap. Looks like they joined it to a snatch strap at the car. Allows them to recover one vehicle without risking the second. I am still watching.... See how they go.
