@@jdbaes Phillies announced Suarez as the game four pitcher but if they did switch to Wheeler that suggests to me that they are starting to doubt themselves and are getting desperate. Mets are playing well and I don’t think they care who they face.

Why does Mike keep saying we're the lovable underdogs, we have been the best team in baseball for the whole second half, put some respect on the name.
Everyone seems to say that. We don't have a true ace, but otherwise this is a really deep and balanced team.
The season is still the whole season and they’re still the 6 seed. They are theoretically underdogs, and they’re still should continue to act like it, it’s motivation.
I get your point but they weren’t picked to make playoffs & were underdogs in Milwaukee & vs Phillies.
It's about perception because Phillies are considered a powerhouse & won the division. Plus we played the Brewers who also won their division.

well, the mets have done it the hard way all year so I wouldnt be terribly surprised if they fail in game 4, but as great as wheeler has been, it doesnt mean he will be just as effective in game 5, the mets won wheelers last 2 starts either with great pitching back or getting to the relievers. So yes, theres some pressure on the Mets, but I dont believe its quite as dire as painted here..
Certainly I didn't expect the Mets to be in this position before the season and especially where they were when the calendar turned to June. But this isn't an underdog run given that the Mets have played the best baseball in the league since June. That's a long period over which to be the best. May counts and you can't be horrific for a full month, but since then who's been better? An absolute testament to their leadership, especially when compared to a more talented Jet team relative to their respective league that seems to be playing for themselves.

Pitching wins plain and simple .
It’s not only that Judge has a career postseason avg just above the Mendoza line, but more that he’s come up empty in nearly every big spot (I can’t recall one he did), and plainly looks overmatched by the more talented pitchers.
It’s eerily similar to ARod’s postseason career, and I hope he finally breaks out like ARod did in 2009.

Don't be surprised if Wheeler is in long relief tomorrow. Suarez has very little chance of pitching well and certainly won't pitch deep into the game. Thomson confirmed Wheeler and everyone else is available tomorrow.

I listened to Mike and Chris Russo for many years on WFAN and never liked him. I though Chris was great, but Mike was too much of a homer to enjoy any of his commentary on the Mets. That has all seemed to change over the years and now he is more reasonable and I greatly enjoy his insights.
