The sailing life is an amazing adventure that suddenly you may need to simply decide leave it. It brings amazing highs and some pretty deep lows. For sure it’s not easy. Trying to do good videos while sailing and living that life must be incredibly consuming. The dedication of folks who reclaimed Alma is amazing and sadly their story has taken such serious turn. If you know any of these ‘missing sailors’ or not this video is a bit melancholy. Who knows, they all may be happier than ever while not showing us their lifes. I can relate - when I get into something, I go all in and then when I no longer have the passion to continue, I move on. The worst thing you can do is to hang on long after the passion that brought you there is gone and you are living in memories of the past. Thanks so much for this sailing video. So many of these creators b came part of my day-to-day as i was preparing to become a live aboard. Sad that they are not currently video-ing but certainly understand. Sea Change continues to be our bar for our videos. Love all of them. Their contributions spoke to so many of us. This is beautiful closure.
Eventually they run out of steam and find it more and more difficult to create content that keeps people engaged enough to keep coming back week after week. Some are better story tellers than others and make a success of it and maybe even a living of sorts. When you have to keep churning out contents it very quickly becomes apparent that it's not all a bed of roses and you find yourself working harder at this job than what you did at your previous job before you went sailing.
⬆️ As many know, that the END came with the sinking, at anchor, of the sailboat 'Sailing Sea Dogs' [video on Sailing Zephyr EP. 28] But, what ever happened to Kenny & his dog Mike ?
This was brilliant, thank you. Videos show the nicer parts of the sailing lifestyle, but there are many challenges that we forget when we watch from afar. All of these people are stars in my book for what they did share with us and I hope they are all finding continued happiness today no matter where they are or what they are doing. 👏 👏 👏
A young couple had a short series called “boat life” and got me hooked on all theses sailing showers about 5 years ago then they just disappeared it’s a shame, they had such potential and were so interesting and full of content that kept you coming back. If y’all are still out there thank you.
Living with the tide , is another channel that has gone missing in action. The last video was 4 months ago as they are restoring a really old 1905 ( I think) sailing vessel. They were in Scotland last time I heard.
I've never heard of this one. It's a shame when they decide to delete their channel content for whatever reason. Obviously any content creators choice, but as an audience we really lose
That was great. These sailors are like part of our lives as we watch them pursue their dreams. I miss each one of them. Seems like its vogue now to have a sailing channel on youtube, but these were the originators of the genre.
SV Honeymoon was the first sailing channel I found a long time ago. They made good videos for a while and then Elizabeth got pregnant. They sold the boat, had three kids and were gone for almost 10 years. They bought a 51' cat and are back as The Sailing Family. I enjoy their videos.
wicked Salty, is still around, just not sailing right now. Wes is in the US Coast Guard, they are still together, with their cute dog Lola. Wes is pretty squared away, and I think we all should be very proud of him. Semper Paratus
Agreed. Wicked salty got me started on RUclips sailing vids. I dont even watch any of the newer couples. It's mostly just soft core porn to get clicks.
Well done. I enjoyed seeing some of them again. But many of them are young with long lives still ahead of them and life makes all sorts of twists and turns. Keep up the good work.
It’s interesting how these channels are just a chapter in someone’s life and you are so right they still have those long lives ahead of them. It’s wonderful that they brought us along for their sail and we as an audience won’t forget it. Also, just noticed your channel and I’m a project boat kind of person so looking forward to binge watching your refit! Thanks for the comment
Great video!! Thanks for the news about SV Escape, I was worried about Cris. Any news about Expedition Kauana? those Brazilians are soo funny, I think they sail north to Svalbard but never posted a video again.. sad.
Yeah I was as well wondering what happened to them. Las thing I recognized was that they were in Svalbard where they met the guys from Delos but not really anything after that.
This is a Great video! I tried to see Tasha (Chasing the Story) here in the Dominican Republic. She was doing some charity work on the north coast. I messaged the guys on Sea Change sometime back. I thought they had told me they were headed south. Like ANTARCTICA South. I will have to check the date of that message.
The channel that got me hooked stopped sailing ….I was like what??no way I need my fix….then I realized like all good shows we don’t need them to “jump the shark” and life moves on…I’m glad they brought me to these sailing adventures and places during COVID I can’t visit…time to find new adventures
The two biggest ones out there are NOT the same they lost their fun and adventure side SV La Vagabonde with a child and one on the way, while SV Delos lost its main mate and now just a 'family-oriented sailing' like the previous one mention. I miss SV Happy Together they just decided not to film anymore once they upgraded to a 50 Cat.*
Your point about family sailing is well taken. Add RAN to your list of newborns aboard and Sailing Soulianis too. Once there's a child on board the vibe changes. Also SLV picked up one hell of a mortgage with that new cat everyone thinks they got for free (talk about a myth) and the pressure to produce content has them pushing against everything even shutdowns, quarantines and social distancing.
The tipping point is when the child starts crawling or walking. There is just no way you would be filming instead of making sure your child is safe. That reduces the amount of material they can edit.
@@oceandrew Interesting. SLV are selling their Outremer 45 and building a new cat using greener technology. They never seem to have much problem producing one video per week - even when their son was born and they had a stock of videos they used while getting used to being new parents. I vaguely recall part of the deal for their current boat was a video every fortnight? There definitely is a difference in the videos: the older videos from the monohull days had a raw quality that I liked. The newer videos are more slick content and production wise, but still enjoyable.
Very interesting as a new You Tube our selves to see all this! We really are at the very first stages of starting up a channel but mostly its about capturing our adventure for us and if others like it then great
And there are still more sailing channels that disappeared/stopped besides the ones in your video. Hilma Sailing (Lisa got a baby and the video editing stopped), The Adventures of Tarka (they split up and the last video is yet to be uploaded), Sailing Salty Mermaid, Sailing Seawolf, Sailing Fata Morgana (the went home after sailing to the pacific) and then there were: Abandon comfort, Adventure Adrift, Adventures of Sprout, Have wind will travel, Monday Never, Sailing Tangora, Sailing TEHO, Venture Lives, Walde Sailing and Shaun and Julia Sailing. Just to name my favorites, there are still more that stopped. You could easily make 2 or 3 more videos like this.
I was scanning these comments trying to remember the Canadian couple who started out in a Bayfield 25, then moved up to a bigger boat. You answered it - Shaun & Julia! Good stuff from them.
Does anyone remember the channel with a french guy (older I think) and a Russian or east European girl. I believe they were on a french mono. You could barely understand him
The channel that I miss the most is Sailing Kittiwake. I found their videos very entertaining and informative. Luckily, they still provide great sailing tips on their Wander by Sail page. Shaggy Seas was another that I followed regularly until they chose a different path.
Love these! Can I request an all Canadian series? YT channels with either all Canadian crew or sailing extensively within Canada? Ben from Breaking Waves
I always figured that the guy from s/v Escape was locked up for not checking in to the Bahamas after spending over a week there (you are supposed to check in ASAP), and for stealing the internet at the fancy resort. While I enjoyed their adventure, and I followed them from the beginning, I thought of them as Bevis & Butthead buy a boat.
I really mis CurtisWestsail. He really showed what it is like living on a boat with all the ups and downs without any drama. Very relaxed and made you feel a visitor on board. He took all his videos down and renamed his channel unfortunately.
Curtis is our neighbour! Nice dude, but we rarely see him. He moved up island and comes down to the boat on occasion to do work but that's it. Not sure what his plan is!
You might like the channel called Adventures of an old Sea Dog . Barry Perrins is down to earth , genuine and yet just enough of a character that you might enjoy watching his channel .
Wonderful list. Such a beautiful adventure this sailing thing; with so many highs and lows. Our thoughts are with those who had to stop before they felt they were done. Sometimes life throws your curve balls you can’t avoid.
Avalon guys did arrive where they wanted to go and sold the boat. We were lucky enough to meet them in Montenegro 2 years back and had them on board for a BBQ - you can also find footage of that on our channel (YES, sailing youtube channel too - even though the focus is marine biology and research for the most part)...
@@SailingChannels well in their books they did... it was always the idea to sell after arrival.... btw: They introduce us as well, if you check their sailing kotor bay video :D
Definitely: after seeing some channels talk about how much effort goes into filming & editing to keep to a regular schedule, it soon kills the fun of adventuring. I remember seeing on an interview with Delos that they have a strict work regime where they edit in the mornings and have days where they do not film at all to keep a clear delineation so they arent constantly filming/onscreen
In photography class we had to take 500 pitures a day. The camera HAD to be ready all the time, as an opertunenty only occures once. That makes any staged picture easily picked out. NOTICE I said pictures & camera? Yes it was a long, long time ago. But still holds true.
When I was younger I thought about sailing away. I read books by 7 famous sailors 6 of whom were no longer sailing and one went so far as to say that he took the spare oar from the dinghy and walked inland till someone said “what is that in your hand?” That’s where he decided to settle. I got the message loud and clear.
Thanks for making this great video testimonial to past RUclipsrs. One of the comments made a point about how some channels are verging on "soft porn" focussing on young women in skimpy swimwear. While content creators have a right to disable, delete or destroy their own creative works, consider for example if Shakespeare (English writer), Mozart (Musician) or Rembrandt (painter), if they'd destroyed every available copy of their works before their deaths, our society now would be the poorer. Some RUclipsrs make a LOT of money from their channels, (whether sailing, RVing, or small farm/housebuilding). In many cases over USD $5,000 (and some cases over $30,000) EXTRA, per month over and above the costs of living. Those "content creators" who are making a really good living from RUclips and with enough left over to build themselves a large financial nest-egg for later in life. If those folks delete/disable videos then their audience, especially those who've supported them through Patreon or buying merchandise are likely to feel very disappointed and hard done-by. RUclips videos enable us, the three-quarters of the world's population who have internet but cannot afford to go everywhere and see everything, to get a glimpse of other people and other places. Plus factual information can be learned, such as outboard motor and diesel engine maintenance, solar panel and battery electric systems. I do not like Shakespeare's writings, Mozart's music or Rembrandt's paintings, but I am glad they still exist for others to study and enjoy. Yes "life happens". marriages and relationships break up. People get sick and have to go another direction in life. Babies come along. But it would be nice, and a show of respect for their loyal viewers who have helped fund their sailing or RV lifestyle, or helped pay for their house and farm build, if when creators find they MUST stop uploading new content, they at least leave a "goodbye and thanks" message as their final video, and that they leave the channel and videos available for viewing, so later folks can come along and learn from them.
I noticed the point type sailing videos as Sailing doodles is an ogy boat. So many sail in the Caribbean which I refuse to go as just a big party place for pit smoking drugged. Very expensive and theft is a major problem. Purchased a sailboat on the east coast and transported to the north. Sail to Alaska then Mexico. Now live in LA Paz.
A few more: Abandon Comfort - no idea what happened to them but the furious comments left on their last video from fans angry at being left hanging were hilarious. Sailing Creo - Med sailors notable mainly for the exceptionally grumpy skipper, ended up setting up a yacht brokerage business in Greece - good luck to them. Sailing Kittiwake - really liked these guys and they’ve only just hung up their oilies, but they had the good manners to explain why and what they were up to : sounds like their time in the Caribbean had been pretty grim. And one I wish would clear off: La Vagabonde - smug doesn’t even come close to describing them, but I guess that’s what RUclips success does to you.
I really enjoyed Sailing GBU, real down to earth poverty couple who did everything on a shoestring and had a blast. They recently sold their boat and decided to buy some overgrown land on an island, they are still uploading and looks like they are doing well so im glad.
We really enjoyed WICKED SALTY, awesome channel with great content, I always thought it would be cool to start a sailing channel, me and my girlfriend lived on a Privilege 615 Catamaran for 8 years and were based in Key West. We sailed around the Florida Keys and several trips to the Bahamas and documented most of these trips and probably have enough footage for at least 5 seasons of sailing, but it's a lot of work to produce a RUclips video and I just don't have the patience for it. I know a lot of these sailing channels depend on the ad sense revenue to help support their adventures, but me & my girlfriend have very healthy pensions and live a very comfortable lifestyle without any outside source of revenue. We recently sold the Privilege 615 and bought a small condo in Key Largo, Florida. We didn't quit sailing we just downsized, our new boat is a 2020 Corsair 880 Sport Trimaran, this thing is wicked fast and a blast to sail, it's 29 feet long, nice roomy cabin, big enough for a weekend cruise and possibly a trip to the Bahamas......
Very well done. Thanks for putting in the work. The video left me feeling a bit melancholy. Most people I know who have either gone offshore cruising or lived aboard have packed it in for various reasons. Most who dream of cruising offshore never even buy a boat, let alone leave the dock. For me, cruising the west coast of BC/Alaska and returning home or visiting a town or village with first world facilities/services will be more than enough of a challenge. BC and Alaska have some of the best cruising in the world with pristine wilderness, marine parks, villages, cities, fishing etc. AL C&C 35 mk3 Vancouver, BC.
Great video. Was hoping to see “adventures of Tarka” on this. Guy had a 27’ Albin Vega sailboat and was sailing all over and had great content. Idk what happened to him. He also had 35k subscribers, so he was getting popular.
Funny enough i was watching his vlogs ths morning! I really liked and looked forward to his weekly episodes. Great content with a unique commentary voice over style. I am not sure but i think the shear size of the Pacific and its challenging conditions got to him and his girlfriend. I am sure if he had the business accumen of sailing uma or the grifting skills of Doodles he would still be on youtube, maybe in a 50 foot cat off Vanuatu right now.
There has been many less popular sailing channels that have disappeared from RUclips. So many have an interest only in the Caribbean then it gets weary see the same parts. Sailing LeaLea is the first video I saw several years past. From Hawaii and on an Albin Vega 27. They still had e it and refit better new. They are in Petersburg AK but do not put videos up as often as formerly. Laura works for a vet on a floating animal clinic. Chuck is at the local radio station. They sail in the better weather. I do not make videos but sail on the west coast of the U.S. down to Ecuador and will go back to Alaska, no hurry as I am a solo sailor on my Pacific Seacraft 40.
Lea Lea is one of the fist channels I stared watching way before I bought my first boat. I am now living on my second (and last) boat, over 4 years now. Time goes fast....
Why we sail. I am happy with it and not racing. There too many pot smoking drugys want to be pirates that just party. Divorced and happy alone. Look for a HR 37 but nothing here in the U.S. one Cyprus but the travel restrictions due covid-19 thought unwise to purchase site unseen. This has had a refit in last few years, as standing and running rigging. Upper life line replaced with 1" SS. New anchor chain, bottom work, port windows and hatches resealed and all lines running to cockpit. And a bow thruster added and a FLR camera on the mast. New instruments at helm. Many old hags want crew but as soon hand 5hem 5he keys and run away.
@@danielpearson6306 I skipped the divorce part, but I am politically incorrect sailing an male only vessel :-) Enjoy your peace and quiet and freedom:-)
They sailed back from NZ into Gold Coast Aus approx Apr 2020 during beginning of the COVID saga. Were heading to north QLD to take care of her sick mother. Hope all is well for them.
I believe Jackson and Xanthe are living somewhere in my local area (Northern Beaches of Sydney - Hence the play on words; “Finding Avalon” (Which is a suburb in the area)) I’ll try and find out for you...
@@SV-DEDICATED 3 weeks is a long time for us to not catch this, we have to step up our game! We have never left a comment on our page (or comment about us) unresponded to.
It appears these sailors can't escape from life, they suffer from tough relationship issues to drowning in a sea of editing, which presumably, they were trying to escape from the drudgery of everyday life in the first place. I wish them the best no matter where and what they might be doing today!
Nice job. There was a couple who sailed out of Seward, Alaska. They just disappeared suddenly. Boats, Beaches and Bears if I recall. I think all their videos were taken down too. May have had something to do with them hunting a bear.
They were great. The name of their channel escapes me. Everything was taken down suddenly several years ago. Sailing, fishing, hunting, beer and whiskey were all points covered by the videos.
I remember they had some problems with overactive animal lovers who harassed them for fishing and hunting. So they decided to put all down. Last I heard is they married and opened a business in the tourist sector in Seward.
I know a lot of the mentioned ones(by watching)... and out of themI think I miss Sea Change the most,... they knew how to make great episodes who took you on an adventure while watching
I miss Boat Life too. And the young couple in Canada with a small 26 that went through the great lakes south but I forget the name. Think the channel was erased 😢
You missed Shaun and Julia Sailing. They have removed their channel completely. They took a break to get married and never came back. It's confirmed they sold their boat and moved back to Canada. As far as I know they are doing Ok. There were some concerns by some followers because of the way they quit. They just basically dropped off of the face of the earth. The person who bought their boat confirmed it in a forum and is the one that stated they seemed to be Ok. Their last shout out was December 2019. Until December 2020 when the following was put up on FB.
**UPDATE:** Hey guys, We hope everyone is being safe this Holiday season, and we wanted to give you guys an update on how everything has been going! We apologize for the mega delay as well After 7 years of travel blogging, we have decided to stop making RUclips videos as we are moving towards a different journey in our lives and want to experience travel without a camera always in our hands. We also believe some things are meant to remain a mystery / left for discovery while not having everything thoroughly documented on RUclips. Nemea has been sold to wonderful new owners, who we’re sure will take great care of her and enjoy her as much as we did. We are now happily married and are wanting to enjoy some time together. We hope you can understand our position, and we thank all of our loyal friends and followers for coming along with us all these years Cheers and stay safe everyone! Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays! xoxo Shaun and Julia
Shaun and Julia were the couple that got me hooked on sailing more so than the super star sailers. I try to support smaller vlogers. Well I am hooked tally ho. My favorite is live on the sea.
It was not cool how Shaun and Julia ended their series. I watched every episode for five years and not even a single good bye. Shame @@claytonnicholls3178
Twice I saw videos from sailing channels where the video that was the last things did not look so good. I forget the names but : 1. Some boat sailing I think a bit towards Antarctica from the Tierra Del Fuego region. Not sure how far south they intended to go, but they had their cold weather gear on and were dealing with some near freezing rain. I think it was a boat at least 35 ft and had maybe a crew of four. 2. Some lone young guy in his 28 ft boat starting out in the Caribbean. The intro video was well done, showed him interacting with locals on the islands and him offering some thoughts about life. His last video was very short, just showed him entering a squall as he approached the Bermuda triangle. Does anyone know if these two expeditions simply stopped filming or if they came to grief ? Thanks.
I can’t remember the name of the channel to save my life. But it was an older aussie fellow, with his first mate, an attorney who fell for this dude and the life. They had an old 30’ single hull, that dude was constantly working on. They were not the slickest channel out there, but they were earnest, hard working and dude was highly skilled in survival, fishing, boat work, etc. He had the 2nd funniest line I’ve heard here on the sailing channels: “Now when breaking water in the western outback, it is essential to have a good woman. Remember, this is crock country and they’re a very real threat to those who do not respect them… this is their home and we’re just visitors, so it’s all about Safety First! With that in mind, send your Sheila in a full ten minutes before venturing out into crocodile infested waters.” Anyone remember these two? And the channel name?
I can't remember the channel name, but they moved onto land and started a homestead apparently. Free Range Sailing.... Think it's called Free Range Homestead?? or something like that.
I’m a retired lightkeeper from Canada; something I frequently noticed was the number of sailboats traveling up and down the west coast, even in fair winds, without a stitch of sail up...I mean, why have a sailboat at all?

Thank you David!
I miss Wicked Salty the most. They are working hard and getting married or already are...not sure which.
Agreed. Wicked salty got me started on RUclips sailing vids. I dont even watch any of the newer couples. It's mostly just soft core porn to get clicks.
I really liked them too.
Any news about Expedition Kauana? those Brazilians are soo funny, I think they sail north to Svalbard but never posted a video again.. sad.
Last I heard from Kauana's gang was when they crewed on a cat for an Atlantic crossing but I believe there was increasing tension between them.
Wicked Salty sailed back up north and Wes joined the Coast Guard a year or two ago. They still occasionally post on Instagram.
nicely put together, thanks for the research .
Glad you liked it!
Ryan does a great job
Been watching How To Sail Oceans...no romance, just sailing by a master..single-handed. No motor-just sail
I'm going to check it out ... you might like a channel called Adventures of an old Sea Dog
YES! As soon as children come into the picture, the channel goes to $**T
The tipping point is when the child starts crawling or walking. There is just no way you would be filming instead of making sure your child is safe. That reduces the amount of material they can edit.
Oh yes, we miss the old Delos videos, its there fault we bought a sailboat
@@oceandrew Interesting. SLV are selling their Outremer 45 and building a new cat using greener technology.
They never seem to have much problem producing one video per week - even when their son was born and they had a stock of videos they used while getting used to being new parents. I vaguely recall part of the deal for their current boat was a video every fortnight?
There definitely is a difference in the videos: the older videos from the monohull days had a raw quality that I liked. The newer videos are more slick content and production wise, but still enjoyable.
@8:45; I know the yacht “Chase the Story” is currently on a mooring off Scotland Island, in Sydney, Australia...
Cheeky Monkey was Chase the Story's catamaran.
Very interesting as a new You Tube our selves to see all this! We really are at the very first stages of starting up a channel but mostly its about capturing our adventure for us and if others like it then great
Thank you so much Seadogs!
@@beachplumb They disappeared in thin air though. I was unable to find out what happened.
Does anyone remember the channel with a french guy (older I think) and a Russian or east European girl. I believe they were on a french mono. You could barely understand him
@@valmikabeneteau7229 Sorry I don't think I know which channel this is.
Add Sailing Nervous to that list. Like Shaun & Julia they removed all the videos from RUclips and disappeared.
Thanks for them updates...super good work by you....cheers
The channel that I miss the most is Sailing Kittiwake. I found their videos very entertaining and informative. Luckily, they still provide great sailing tips on their Wander by Sail page.
Shaggy Seas was another that I followed regularly until they chose a different path.
Shaggy Seas, was a great channel, the quality of their edits at the time was superb
+1 for Sailing Kittiwake
Love these! Can I request an all Canadian series? YT channels with either all Canadian crew or sailing extensively within Canada? Ben from Breaking Waves
Thanks Ben! I'm sure RUclips would probably keel over from the weight of all those Canadian sailing channels but we could definitely try ⚓️
Been a while since you uploaded Ben!
Nahoa, is still going, sailing reaction saw a post about 6 months ago, Coast Life hasn’t posted in ages...
Yacht Teleport did a good series of the NW Passage. There was also Sean and Julia sailing but I don’t know if they’re still posting.
@@redhedrachful oh yes Walde’s haven’t gone back to sailing...
There are a lot of sailing channels that have ended or have just stopped posting for over a year.
Sea Change, set the bar so high only a known Norwegian Sailor comes close. Everything else is just a substitute.
Great video. Thanks for putting that together and sharing.
I enjoyed Sailing Salty Mermaid, but the accident devastated their dreams.
His channel was great!
Totally agree.
I hope things have worked out for him
That was one of the channels I was assuming was going to be on here. I miss his channel too. Got a job trucking and left....
Great info! There was a lot of chatter in their comment sections. Their channel was brilliant and really wish they would have finished it.
@@SailingChannels well in their books they did... it was always the idea to sell after arrival.... btw: They introduce us as well, if you check their sailing kotor bay video :D
@@ProjectManaia Nice to see you here!
@@Nerd3927 Since we are not well known enough for anyone to wonder where we are I gotta make ourselves seen every now and then :D
love your channel , one of my favourites .
It becomes a case of "Been there, done that". What was an adventure becomes a chore.
Odysseus
Not sure whether the vloggers know how connected you can feel when they share their stories. When they disappear it's like loosing friends.
I’ve never heard of a single one of these. And I’ve been watching sailing youtube for about 8 years.
Thanks for posting! 😊
Thank you!
Satori just posted a video yesterday. Maybe this prompted them to give an update..
I enjoyed watching Luckyfish. Whatever happened to them?
According to Facebook they will be back, just taking a winter / covid break
They had a baby and they were trying to sell shares in their boat so they seem to be planning to spend most of their time in Mongolia.
I remember most of these, my all time favorite is Bora Bora. I continue to follow others. Ran, Florence, Ruby Rose, October Skies, and Sam Holmes.
Bora Bora is probably still my favourite! Florence has evolved over the years into a stunning channel, in my opinion.
Watching sailing videos is a good step before before pulling the trigger and spending the money on a boat....
What a fantastic video!! Thank you :)
Thanks, so much...
Bora Bora was my favorite, they had a baby and are living happily ever after!
A few more:
Abandon Comfort - no idea what happened to them but the furious comments left on their last video from fans angry at being left hanging were hilarious.
But she's so f---ing cute, and that accent. My fav channel. Along with Matt and Jessica and their adorable cat Georgie
I stopped watching them long ago I don't even know what it was that just made me not enjoy watching them anymore ... can't recall .
I really enjoyed Sailing GBU, real down to earth poverty couple who did everything on a shoestring and had a blast. They recently sold their boat and decided to buy some overgrown land on an island, they are still uploading and looks like they are doing well so im glad.
They never sailed anywhere because they had no insurance. They just sat at anchor and did boat projects. Hardly a "sailing channel".
Wow I often wondered what happened to s few of those channels thanks so much forcdharingv
the best thing about RUclips is as a creator you can just stop whenever you want to.
...also the worst thing...
Wow, awesome video. Thanks so much.
There was also Sailing Turtle 26 that hasn't been heard of for a while.
Those two were really fun to watch.
Time for an update - there have been a few more that have crashed and burned
Very well done. Thanks for putting in the work.
The video left me feeling a bit melancholy. Most people I know who have either gone offshore cruising or lived aboard have packed it in for various reasons. Most who dream of cruising offshore never even buy a boat, let alone leave the dock.
For me, cruising the west coast of BC/Alaska and returning home or visiting a town or village with first world facilities/services will be more than enough of a challenge. BC and Alaska have some of the best cruising in the world with pristine wilderness, marine parks, villages, cities, fishing etc.

Id really like to see Sea Change start up again! They were the best sailing channel on yourtube
the captions made it seem like the vessel was never seen again, like it sunk...
How about Holly @ Another adventure?
The two I have subs to that has stopped to add content are Abandon Comfort (really miss them) and Kauana Sailing Expedition
Great video. Was hoping to see “adventures of Tarka” on this. Guy had a 27’ Albin Vega sailboat and was sailing all over and had great content. Idk what happened to him. He also had 35k subscribers, so he was getting popular.
I heard they split up and he got a job (or returned to a job) with NASA / JPL. He also sold Tarka

Sailing Satori is doing charters out of St. Petersburg Florida
That’s a big beautiful boat to manage yourself. Sounds like you need crew 😜⛵️

It appears these sailors can't escape from life, they suffer from tough relationship issues to drowning in a sea of editing, which presumably, they were trying to escape from the drudgery of everyday life in the first place. I wish them the best no matter where and what they might be doing today!
A sailing channel I really miss is Ocean Around.
They split up and lost the umph to continue vlogging.
Gustav continued sailing single handed, renamed the channel to ”sailing Malou”. Not the same vibe, but nice scenery.
Nice job. There was a couple who sailed out of Seward, Alaska. They just disappeared suddenly. Boats, Beaches and Bears if I recall. I think all their videos were taken down too. May have had something to do with them hunting a bear.
I never heard of them. Would love to watch a sailing channel out of Alaska. It’s too bad they removed their content. Thanks for the comment
They were great. The name of their channel escapes me. Everything was taken down suddenly several years ago. Sailing, fishing, hunting, beer and whiskey were all points covered by the videos.
Venture Lives..they are starting up again
Bixler McClure & Krystin Bablinskas , I think they got married. Alaskagraphy was the channel name. Would love to see them come back.
I remember they had some problems with overactive animal lovers who harassed them for fishing and hunting. So they decided to put all down. Last I heard is they married and opened a business in the tourist sector in Seward.
Never Monday? Where did they go?
I know a lot of the mentioned ones(by watching)... and out of themI think I miss Sea Change the most,... they knew how to make great episodes who took you on an adventure while watching

We love their family so much and do our best to keep up with the news :/
Great concept for a video Thanks!
I found "Sea Change" truly brilliant storytellers, which made their channel abandonment all the more jarring.
If your trying to get away from the rat race starting a you tube channel will do the opposite
**UPDATE:** Hey guys,
We hope everyone is being safe this Holiday season, and we wanted to give you guys an update on how everything has been going! We apologize for the mega delay as well
After 7 years of travel blogging, we have decided to stop making RUclips videos as we are moving towards a different journey in our lives and want to experience travel without a camera always in our hands.
We hope you can understand our position, and we thank all of our loyal friends and followers for coming along with us all these years
Cheers and stay safe everyone!

With that in mind, send your Sheila in a full ten minutes before venturing out into crocodile infested waters.”
