Your "What Happened to" would have a lot more credibility if you'd bothered to find out how to pronounce Phil Lynott's name. Next time try googling "RUclips Phil Lynott Interview". The interviewer will almost certainly introduce him.
Well, I’ve been a Lizzy fan my entire life and I know Phillip’s uncle Peter personally. So let me tell you something. Before you claim to know how to properly pronounce Phillip’s family name you should do a bit of research yourself. This is exactly how it’s pronounced. Phillip himself would be sure to tell folks “it’s pronounced Lie-not, because I Lie-not” and Phillip’s gran Sarah would always say “it’s pronounced Lie-not, not Linnet. A Linnet is a bird, we are not birds!” Those are facts! LIE-NOT
~~ for many bands who were great throughout the 70's - it was a tough transition into the 80's and the slick, new landscape of MTV - new wave - techno pop etc. - one of the few who did very well into the 80's - and beyond - was ZZ Top - but then when you add a heroin habit to the equation like Lynott had by then - that's a recipe for disaster ..
....Robbo punching a guy in a bar is what fkd Lizzy.....all the other guitarists were suitable replacements to fill a gap...but he and Gorham together were the soul organics necessary in that band....he is a phenomenal rock guitar player...
Seen them open for Queen they opened with Jail Break I was BLOWN AWAY OF THE FIRST RIF. STILL STAYS WITH ME EVERY TIME I THINK ABOUT THAT AMAZING SHOW !!!
One of my all time faves. Now you need to do Wishbone Ash, the true pioneers of harmony guitar, who Thin Lizzy toured with when they were still a trio. That's where they got the idea to add a second guitar.
I’d be curious to hear about the project with Ritchie Blackmore and Phil Lynotte that never got off the ground. Ritchie spoke about it briefly in an interview. I had never heard about it
When Gary Moore and Scott Gorham were both lead guitarist in TL back in the day , Now that was something else and unique sounding , Never heard another band or group duplicate it !
@@F-Phrygianid say bad reputation was there best album though i do like songs from their other albums as well and a couple off the black rose album..... "got to give it up" and "with love".
I saw a thin Lizzy when I was a teenager back in the seventies I really enjoyed them they put on a better show than Blue oyster cult who they opened up for.
@@ThomasRogan-gc5pi it's all in perspective. I wasn't off into laser light shows. Other than Godzilla I didn't know any other music. I really enjoyed thin Lizzy

Agree with phenomenal guitar player but all Lizzy's guitarists were supreme. Loved robbo's playing on another perfect day when he was with Motorhead.

IF you love Thin Lizzy music, check out Black Star Riders. Just RUclips search them and listen to some of their songs. I think you'll like them.
It's a sin they are not in the rock n roll hall of Fame
I heard the lead singer could be joining AC DC, but i could be wrong.

It was called Baby Face. I'm glad it didn't happen. There would have been no Lizzy.
Brian Downey has put together a Killer band doing lizzy music that's Outfknstanding
Saw them in the 90's at Milwaukes's summerfest, wasnt bad but not sure what members were in the band at the time.
Drugs Drugs and more Drugs one of the Greatest bands of all time fucked themselves that's the bottom line
Poor narration
Yup it sure is... like being served a meal on dirty paper plates w/ broken plastic cutlery.
Take it easy. He is as God made him. Unfortunately he'll likely stay that way.@@bakeone4406
One of the finest hard rock acts...EVER!
Bless Phil.
THE finest, for me...
JailBreak is a 'must have' in any classic rock album collection and their Live album was excellent.

I’ll second that…..love Robbo, but Moore and Gorham had good chemistry and tone….Black Rose album was the best of em all🏆
Gary Moore passed away February 6th 2011
He’s been missed since the day he left….his trills will always be untouchable 🎼@@austinguitarschool1432

Well done! Lots of info I did not know.
Glad to hear it!
