I’m so happy I get to re-experience this show with you guys. Ray Stevenson is easily one of the best parts of this show and it’s a shame we won’t get to see him in the role anymore. May he rest in peace.

Those "new" ships we saw on Lothal are E-WIngs. Brought over from Legends and were suppose to replace the X-Wings being more advanced but the Republic pilots were basically naaaaa we're good lol
I believe E-Wings first appeared in the Dark Horse comics series Dark Empire where, somehow, Palpatine returned.
I love how Dave Filoni is constantly bringing in things from Legends to the new canon!
@@newdayatmidnightIt honestly kinda feels like bringing elements of the old canon into the new canon has been Filoni’s plan ever since Disney decanonized the books, and he’s just been biding his time and adding them in bit by bit so Disney doesn’t realize he’s basically undoing their decision to decanonize them

What I like about the fight between Sabine and the apprentice is that is shows how much skill they have even when not using the force. Some fights it seems like the have the force turned on all the time and use it to guide their actions. But they are just good fighters.

Ok but under rated moment was when Ahsoka not so subtly hinted at her past encounter with Din when telling Herra about Morgan working with mercenaries. I distinctly rember cackling at that. And Sabine’s intro was perfect. I got so excited when we saw Rider again. I wasn’t expecting that at all.
Even in just their first episode, Baylan and Shin established themselves as some of the best antagonists Disney has ever given us since their acquisition of the franchise 😊
Too bad Shin becomes one of the lamest

With reference to Sabine and the force... George Lucas talked about this. Everyone technically has the force in them. But it is talent and hard work that separates who can actually use it.

Wren is force sensitive all people are to some extent the problem is most are unable to access it. The Jedi chose those who naturally manifested the Force, as those who didn’t naturally manifest would usually end up seeking the short-cut of anger, opening them up to the dark side. We see this from Luke’s training as he came to the Force late. Same with Wren.
It’s actually foreshadowed in Rebels, the two owls (Morai) watching Ezra, Sabine, and Canaan train is joined by a third smaller Morai. The Morai is the symbol of the Daughter, the Avatar of the Light side.
one of the recent kotor cinematic trailers touched on this. a padawan was chosen but her brother was left behind because he wasn’t as naturally adept in the force, which was later shown to be untrue so sabine being force sensitive isn’t completely unbelievable

Interesting in the opening crawl they call Ahsoka a former Jedi knight but she was never a Jedi knight, she was offered to have the whole false accusation situation count as her trial and promotion but she declined and left the order as a padawan.
Idk obiwan was called a knight in episode 1 as well
