    Fun fact: "Fata Morgana" is a type of mirage often seen in the open desert that makes its viewer think they are seeing double of images along the horizon.

    Thanks for the great play through. My wife & I are playing this tomorrow so it was good to see the game in action.

    This playthrough is excellent but I think for the first time I'm seeing a game not ideal for your format... but this could just be because this is one of the first times I've watched a playthrough of a game I'm very familiar with. The best part about Targi is that it gets to a point very quickly where every placement decision is tense and interesting, second and third guessing your ideas of what's going through your opponent's head. I think because you're already in your opponent's head, you pulled a few punches--not your fault, just the nature of playing the game against yourself. As always though, brilliant and entertaining, thank you so much for your videos!

      I can certainly see what you are saying, and it is always a challenge to simulate double thinking myself. I tried to show some good blocks, but I'm sure I accidentally let some really good moves slip through that likely wouldn't have happened with another person playing. In the end these playthroughs are intended to teach and show how the game feels to play, not necessarily to show a game played super well. Glad you still enjoyed it :)

    I really like this one! The alternation of Tribe cards and Good cards is a brilliant way to ensure the board will have good options and keep a cycle of gather/spend/gather/spend going.

    at 42:10 at the start of the player (on the left) turn, the tribe marker (cylinder token) should be in pepper and salt goods card (instead of the salt good card).. meaning during the 42:34 "coin flip" the player would normally choose to get salt (since the player already have 2 pepper).. which also means that the player can build the well tribe with 2 salts from tribal expansion on 43:08

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  3 года назад

      Yeah, I got screwed up there. I do have a correction about this error in the Klingon subtitles.

    Targi is a great 2 player game. I had the opportunity to teach and play a couple of weeks ago when 1 friend and I came early to a game day. It does take 1 hour + to play, so it ususally doesn't fit as a waiting for the rest of the group filler.

    at 37.10, white paid a pepper and a coin to purchase a tribe card, but the very 1st tribe card white purchased provided a one goods discount i believe.

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  4 года назад

      At your timestamp I see white paying a date and coin to play a Targia card which they don't have a discount for. Were you talking about something that happened at a different timestamp?

    Thani you Jon for the play through I noticed 1 mistake at 39:40 the blue tribe token should have been placed 1 to the right on the pepper and salt

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  4 года назад +1

      Thanks for pointing that out, it's a pity since I'm pretty sure Blue could have used that pepper later on. I've added a note to the Klingon subtitles about this.

    At 5:25 shouldn’t the opponent have gotten a second date because of the tribe card they picked up in the previous round shown on the tutorial video?

    • @JonGetsGames
      @JonGetsGames  4 года назад +1

      That card only gives the player a bonus date when they take at least one date from goods cards in the round. At 5:25 they took a date from a border card which doesn't activate that bonus. Goods cards are only taken with tribe tokens in the middle or by a Targi action at the Caravan.
