Last thing I needed today.
You’d be thinking. 'Cause you’re in such a hurry.
And you forget that it’s just not worth it. It’s not worth the risk when life’s on the line.
You want to keep going but I want to keep living.
You forget that I’m someone’s mother, father, friend.
And I want to get home safely to my loved ones. No matter the rush.
You say we bother you. As if the road belonged to you. And you say it high-handedly, comparing a few minutes of your life to my lifetime. Without even looking me in the eye.
And my eyes are full of fear. The same fear each time I get on the bike. Have you had a drink? Are you high? Or have you simply had a bad day?
It’s time you realized that there’s no point in living in such a hurry. The stakes are too high. Slow down, share the road, give us space.
KEEP THE FUCKING DISTANCE.
