Because of 7:26 I'm having a real hard time committing to this printer. Obviously slow, otherwise, we don't have to skip ahead during the printing to make it appear faster.

Love the unboxing!! I’m loving the printer so far. My old Hp laser needed Wi-Fi router to work as a Wi-Fi printer which cased delays and no prints. Noticed this didn’t ask for a password to print? Is there that feature so my neighbors don’t find my printer and use up my ink/paper? Also I purchased mine at Sam’s Club for $450 and included a extra black ink bottle which thought was nice 👍. Thanks again for sharing the video!!

Can this printer, print on 300 gsm textured paper (bristol board A4) and deep tooth sketching paper. Would the inks bleed out on the paper because its art/sketching paper. If this printer can't do that you have any other recommendations for a multifunctional scan and print, printers. Also does this printer have a back feeding tray so it prints front to back to avoid paper jams. Would really appreciate your help 😊

It really depends the 5150 can handle much more capacity but the 4850 would be better for high quality photos.
What about finding replacement ink for this product. Are they readily available at a good price? Some printers I've seen can only use specific ink provided by the manufacturer that sometimes costs more than the printer itself.

Can you realign the printer after the fist time. I would like to change some of my choices to make the ink darker. (Use more ink)
Just purchased the ET-4850 and cannot get the ADF to function for scanning. Every time it gives me a paper jam error message, the paper never moved a centimeter. I insert the paper and hear a beep, I assume that is a good sound. The manual says I should see a icon on the panel, I don't. I even went into settings and chose the ADF button instead of Auto or Glass. I hear the sound of scanning, then the printer stops and gives me the clean jam even though the paper never moved. The rollers turn freely. What could I possibly be doing wrong?
Brandon, great review! I just setup my new Epson ET-4850 printer, but forgot to fill the ink cartridges BEFORE the "ink charging" step which takes 10 mins. After filling the ink, when I try to test any of the printer head alignment steps, the printer is NOT printing anything. I get BLANK pages. How do I go back and complete the "Ink Charging" step?
While the printer is off, install the ink and upon staring up it should charge the ink into the system.
Thanks for your great videos! I’m a retiring graphic designer/art director and am now hoping to just have fun doing artwork and such. I need a new printer. I’m looking at the EcoTank 4850 and 3850. I was wondering if either of those will print on heavier paper (even card stock) and possibly handmade paper. Does the paper pass straight through or have to bend?
The 4850 will handle heavier paper types.
How do I close the lid back after installing the ink. It is as if it is locked open and I don't want to break the hindge forcing it closed

You are correct. No double scanning. It does do double sided printing though.
I have a 2800 that started clicking really loud and leaving ink on the edges of my paper. I bought a new one and got 4850. After printing 20 pages it’s now doing the same thing. Do you have any suggestions for me?

It really just depends on your presets during setup. By default it would be double sided though.

Hi, here is the info on the printers speed. Print Speed 15.5 ISO ppm (black), 8.5 ISO ppm (color). ppm = pages per minute.

Seeing just the tray for the paper, but does it also have a straight through tray for printing labels on Label Sheets?

In Australia the ET 4850 appears to only come in black - I would have preferred this white one in your video.

Hi, yes most after market ink will do just fine with the Epson Eco Tank.

How do I print labels on the Epson ET 4850?
Hey Brandon, thank you for all the info. But how do I open and close the scanner unit without feeling like I’m going to damage it when I lock it to stay in place and also to release. It takes quite a bi of force for such a lightly built machine.
Unfortunantely, there is no way to avoid this entirely. You will just need to be as careful a s possible

At around 7:10, I can't even push the 'paper aligners' apart! Yesterday, I couldn't open the top cover of the ink compartment - thankfully, I found a forum proving the answer. However, still can't get the paper aligners apart.
Return it for a new one, that shouldnt be happening.

How can you change to color print instead of black
So I got a epson et 4850 and I can not for the life of me get anything to print centered. Epson is no help. when my scrapbooking pages come out, it has a 1/8 inch margin on top and 1/4 on the bottom. I have done checked and unchecked on center box and they just both come out the same. I don't want to do borderless because it makes the pages to big for my book and i don't want to cut off edges of my prints.

Yes, the presets should say something like heavy weight paper.

Hi Kelly, I would go with the Epson ET 3850 if you wont be utilizing the extra features on the 4850 and save the money!

@@mandykates3826 , I ‘believe’ it is 4-in-1, includes fax, whereas 4800 is 3-in-1, print, copy, scan.
i cannot figure out how to print photos from my iMac....where do I put the photo paper (4x6). Do I set it up entirely from my Mac, or do I need to do something else on the screen?
You will need to adjust the bottom paper tray for that size and yes you will need to adjust the presets on your IMac. Command P on whatever you are trying to print should bring up these settings.

I bought one of these and really like it. I wish the screen was larger. I guess if you use your phone, it may be easier, but I chose not to use my phone. I ended up using a stylus because the screen is so small. Otherwise this is a great printer.

My epson does not print checks on check paper. It will print check on plain paper. I called Epson support and they told be the ink is not compatible with check paper. Is this true?

There are sooo many ecotank printers out there. Really hard to determine which one gives best price/performance.
The 3850 is probably the best one for a midrange Eco Tank.

Yes that is true and that would be a drawback with this printer.

Hi! Thanks for watching. So you would want to go into the presets and change the paper size. If you have the Epson software installed open the Epson App and go into the printing settings to get to the presets.

You will have to use the presets on the iPad, or maybe download an app that has more presets.
@@BestPrinters how is that done? I don’t see presets for ER-4850 using Epson connect. I have the destination list ready. I had presets on this printer before, but it took a dump and I had to reset everything. Presets disappeared. I do not remember for the life of me how I got the presets on that printer.
Would you recommend this over the cannon g7050? I'm concerned with the ink overflow issues on cannon but I think replacements pads are available now.

I could be wrong but I think the diff is that the SE comes with one extra bottle of black ink.

I thought Epson gave you two sets of inks? Any USB ports? I have the chance to buy a ET 4550 printer for $300, and the other oppertunity to buy a ET 4850 for $500. Is there much of a difference? I print some pictures of people and there faces.
Depending on the model, you may or may not have a usb port. Some Eco Tank offers include 2 sets of ink but not all. So look into the offers you have for each model and if one offers more it might be worth paying a bit more.
