Heyy for the window ! Its because your window (glass) is too cold compared to the warmth of the interior of your room (the air) - thats why if you dont turn the heat you might see a reduction in the condensation, however it should be gone if the glass is heated, so you should turn on the heater (usually they are under a window) and remove anything that could block the heat from getting to the glass like blinds (especially at night) :) I hope this helps !!

I'm also from a seaside town, so a large city is a bit of a change of scenery for me lol. I'm only concerned about living costs really, but I'd love to know how you managed!

You could also make sure the room is well ventilated - dont close your bedroom door if not needed :D
