how did you play the flute in 8tet? it sounds realistic

I don't know what was in this video, but quarter-tone flutes are an actual commercial product (invented by Eva Kingma, and I think somebody else also makes them under license), and if you choose only every 3rd note, you get 8-tone equal temperament.

Also you can make microtonal flutes yourself with thin pipe, tools and a ruler.
