When the baby was moving it looked like the pointy part was going to poke her mouth. This is a dangerous way to feed an infant. Not to mention that they are standing up holding the baby’s neck in one hand & on some kind of high table or stand. Do most people have these at home? It’s only going to be more difficult as the baby grows older. So sit down, hold the baby in your arms, give affection & cuddles and feed her with a bottle or breast instead of some sharp pointed object that can easily poke her eye or anywhere else when the baby gets older & moves around a lot more.

Not all babies are born with the ability to suck/ nurse. The mussels will developed to do so. But have the ability to swallow. Sooo much better than a feeding tube.

Is there a mother? I understand that this cup is antibacterial but you can do the same with silicone nipples & bottles. I believe it’s not just easier, but better for both the infant, mother and,or caregiver, to sit down and hold the baby in your arms & feed her/him with the breast or bottle. Babies need that warmth & comfort of being held in the arms & fed in this way, as opposed to the caregiver standing up & having the baby sit up with your hand behind her neck on some kind of high table or nursery device that I’m sure most people don’t have at home. As the baby gets bigger, standing up with your hand around the baby’s neck & trying to feed with this device will not work especially because we know babies go through that developmental stage where they want to grab things and put in their mouths & this cup/ spoon device will end up being spilled. It’s also going to be difficult to hold down the baby as they get bigger & move around more with the only one hand on a high table where they can easily fall off. It’s just not suitable for an infant.
They need to cry to exercise their lungs and get any remaining gunk out of their respiratory tract. It’s a sign of a healthy little one to be throwing a “tantrum”. I thought it was quite impressive. Baby “feels” starved but has enough nutrition absorbed before birth to hold them until mom is ready-and the crying helps the let-down of mother’s milk.

The newborn has just expended a huge amount of energy being born within the past hour or so. It is not cognitively aware enough to “learn” anything let alone patience. At this stage an infant needs to be fed frequently. It knows when feeding time has come and uses the only communication option available. When a child is older waiting for food to build patience is good for them. For a just born infant being fed as soon as they want it is not an option.

When he feels that connection, the baby knows that his mother is next to him, he knows that she has not left him. Then the baby feels safe.
