    As someone who moved to Canada 6 years back , I would like set some records straight. I think Canada is the best country in the world and feel that moving there was the best decision of my life. It’s a land of immense opportunities and a great place to raise a family despite the somewhat uncontrolled wokeness. Whether it’s Canada , US, UK or even a different neighborhood in your own city - any move requires research and planning and if you are unable to do this then don’t blame the place .. blame yourself. Last point …. Only migrate to any country if it works for you and NOT just because someone else did it - Herd mentality kills !!!

      @Hazara26 4 месяца назад

      Opportunities are in every country but you have to be smart to change things in your favour. So many people in Pakistan got wealthy and don't like to leave Pakistan and will never. In terms of Opportunities what Pakistanis community is doing here? Do you think all of them are highly skilled professionals? No. So majority of people come here and always saying we came here for better future for us and our kids which is not the case. If Western countries would be utopia then you wouldn't see homelessness and drug addicts and so many other issues. The only reason Pakistan is not doing good first due to army madarchod and second people don't try to improve and develop the country.

      @safifaruqi thats not true. A country like Canada had its own issues and challenges too, which honestly our people migrating here don't want to traverse through the right methods. E.g finding a job, getting a proper education ( ghar Laine ke liye ready hain per degree pe 50k nahe lagain ge.
      It's a very different culture, and lay of the land- which takes an extremely different approach. Those who do it right settle well.
      However, Pakistan is structured and work completely opposite to Canadian society and industry ( I am not saying good or bad ). How our people in Pakistan go about life, works for many people and they succeed - some friends have raised multi million dollar firms in Pakistan.
      I agree, Canada is an amazing country but no one ever said it'll be a walk in the park and everyone will be flying high. People here fail badly as well, with tons of debt and go bankrupt/homeless.
      Regarding the job market in Canada, people simply aren't ready Landing straight from Pakistan. You need to learn the culture, have references of experience, certifications, understanding of tax system, law, diversity, Profesional licenses - when Indians and Pakistanis feel they will bypass this all, they face tough times. I did my engineering from PK and there was absolutely no need of a PEC license. In Canada, you can't practice engineering without having a license
      Hence, to summarize, making a change is tough in any country but especially for people who cut corners and don't want to put in the work.

    Canada is amazing in so many ways that none of these people have mentioned. There is no racism, free education for children, free healthcare, and it is beautiful! Yes, it has certain challenges like expensive housing and a competitive job market, but I would take them any day over load-shedding and not having basic human rights. You need to embrace and accept the place for what it is rather than compare it with the comforts back home. I moved here 2 years ago and I have zero regrets. Please do not get discouraged by listening to stories of people who focus only on problems. If you have a chance to get out, GET OUT NOW!

      There is plenty of racism and Islamophobia here, growing day by day. Free education standards is below average compared to Pakistani education standards. Free health care is also below average standard. One has to wait weeks just to get an appt with General Physician, specialist appt you have to wait months. But yes it’s got a lot of natural beauty and no electrical outages and security thanks to the high taxes we pay.

    • @troopfrmjagala
      @troopfrmjagala 3 месяца назад +1

      True that!! Been here for 22 years, my father had a triple bypass surgery and it didn't cost us a dime. People who complain about racism must reflect upon themselves, it all depends on how you carry yourself. I've never been victimized by racism, or Islamophobia whatsoever. People often complain a lot about the healthcare system, without realizing that their headache or fever cannot be treated as an emergency, I mean sure one can goto States and pay for their doctors visit just for comparison's sake, giving birth to a child costs upto $30k in states, whereas in Canada it costs you absolutely 0. Our healthcare and infrastructure is derailing esp because of refugees and folks who are milking the welfare system. Sure, we pay taxes but look at all the extra weight we carry, refugees and folks on welfare don't pay taxes, they live off of our taxes and there are people I know who have been on welfare for 30 years 😮. Anyhow, Canada has been home, it's a beautiful land.

    As a Canadian Pakistani living in Canada I can confirm that whatever Junaid is sharing is 100% true. The story he shared about the guy he shared about the student from UP who came to Brampton is a VERY COMMON STORY here in Canada.
    Indians in particular sell their land and take loans to send their kids here. The kids work odd jobs, live in substandard conditions, have zero life and are enrolled in silly diplomas which are worth nothing to stay on student visa here.
    There used to be a time when Canada was an opportunistic place, but after all this open immigration and student visa, the system is exhausted.
    Pakistanis and Indians need to GET OVER this “bahir jana “ culture. The grass is far far from green on this side.

      I blame no one other than that person here. Everyone has the Internet. It takes half an hour to research about a country before you decide to permanently change your life by settling there. It's very irresponsible of people like that guy that they don't do ANY research before upping their life. Not only do they fuck up their own lives but they have messed up Canada as well. We don't have odd jobs for Canadians because of people like him. People like him are abusing food banks here. People like him work under the table for illegal cash jobs, putting pressure on wages and prevent them from growing. I hate useless people like him who move to a different country and then realize it was a dumb move.

    • @rohanbansal9563
      @rohanbansal9563 4 месяца назад

      @@rrboss3721 No entirely true. If you ctrl+F my name, and search comment section, you would find I have cussed Canada like anything, and have studied at a top 20 tech school in the US, with full GRA on funded research project. The problem is it will take decades, some say 50 or 100 years for a person born in India to get green card in the US.
      Even if you do an exceptional PhD, publish a lot, it will still take 4 to 6 years to get green card and there is no guarantee. So many people are going to Canada for studies. There are few decent universities here, but I always recommend US. But after spending certain time in US, you get used to lifestyle here. If you by choice, or for reason have to return to India, you realize there is no easy way back. That's why people go to Canada.
      I returned to India, realized in 2.5 years it was not working out, so gave interviews for Canada and Europe sitting in India and cracked them. But my US education, research I did during my masters which subsequently provided me a niche R&D job in US did provide huge weight to my resume.

    • @rohanbansal9563
      @rohanbansal9563 4 месяца назад +2

      @Tahreemsheikh: I don't fully agree. Things are not bright on Canada/UK/Australia and other side, but same cannot be said about Canada's big neighbor. I went to US in 2010 for my masters, worked there, returned to India in 2019 and came to Canada in Nov 2021. US is any day better than India, Canada, Europe or Australia.for tech workers. Canada/Aus/Europe has low salaries for tech workers, healthcare is shit and people are racist/not accepting. I am just waiting to get Canadian citizenship and leave to India for second time, as I want to be closer to my parents. I am in Canada only because I feel, with Canadian passport entry/exit in US would be simpler if I want to move 10 to 15 years down the line.
      If my parents were not in question, I would immediately email my manage in US, re-apply for my existing H-1B and I would run back to US and live on employment visa for my whole life. I am just 11 months away for eligibility of Canadian citizenship but honestly dont care.

Colleges with 200 seats issued 2000 visas for students primarily from India, Pak, Bangla Desh & China only to leave the students in the lurch. A local desi funeral home claims to be doing the last rites of at least 5 students a week. Ensure that you do proper research before taking a step. Join universities as degrees from there have more marketability. Sad state of affairs even for Canadians studying in univs here as salaries have literally gone down.

So that he also learn life skills and get comfortable being in kitchen, get use to concept of cleaning and to fix things on his own. As you said, anything which sparks crousity, creativity and joy is good for kids. Very limited time should be spent in screens. Its also important to let kids get bored. Let them figure out what they can do.

    I used to make $6 per hour in 2013, and my fee was $7200 per semester as an international student. The fee per semester is around $8000 now, and if someone is making $14 per hour, I think it's still better, but the inflation is killing people these days. Rent is doubled, and grocery is way more expensive than before, etc. Less to no jobs.

    I think, you should keep on bringing such stories of people so that other people can learn and understand more about life through their experiences. Life is not a bad of roses and one must be realistic. Success stories are appealing but one should have a complete knowledge before taking any further steps. Canada is not the old Canada anymore. I feel sometimes, we should strive and struggle at the place where we are, instead of taking unnecessary chances and putting all pennies in one basket.

    Regarding DIY part, I got interest into using spanners, screwdrivers and other mechanical devices that were kept at home. My dad never stopped me from using them on even taking the wheels of my cycle out... In fact at that very young age they used to get me legos like mechanix kits. 25 years later when we moved to US, those skilled helped me and especially my wife a lot. I assembled every furniture at my home, once my car's taillight was damaged, I ordered one online and replaced it myself...
    All these things are really helpful and I see my friends struggling, complaining every time as everything is supposed to be done by yourself here... Lucky to got my interest there and parents too supporting it.

      Canada was never worth it in my opinion for tech workers, not just now. I have friends who moved from US to Canada in 2015 and 2016 and ran back to the US within a year. They all thought 3 years in Canada, then Canadian citizenship and then move back to the US. They were like, it is better to spend whole life on employment visa in US then live in Canada. Indians due to country backlog, cannot get green card for decades.
      I myself moved to Canada, after my return to India from US did not work out. I thought it is closer to US, so would be like US. But now, I am just counting my days for citizenship and leave this country. People who move to Canada from US absolutely hate it. I have seen tech workers with PhD and 3 years of experience getting salary of 100,000 CAD here and 2 BHK is 2400 CAD. Whereas I was getting 90,000 USD at entry level in 2012 at a place in US where 2 BHK was like 1300 USD. Right now, even there entry level pay is at least 110,000 USD and 2 BHK is 1700 USD (checked recently).

      I have been in Canada from the age of 14 and now I am 41. I got all my education from high school to Master's in Canada. I worked in some of the big international companies in Canada (GE, Revlon) but I was unemployed for couple years, starting from 2014. Then, I only got low-wage jobs. I went back to Pakistan to work and loved that job for 4 years. Then, I came back to Canada because my family lives here and was unemployed for 2 years. Then, I came down to Houston, Texas in 2023. With the same qualifications, which were useless in Canada, became valuable in USA and got hired in my field for a decent salary within couple months of moving to Texas.
      If Canada is such a great country, then why Canadians are moving to America in huge numbers???

I learned a lot about cars theory, practical, and how to keep them maintained. I am not a mechanic professionally but have a great knowledge from the classes I took. Mechanics don’t try to fool me in USA and Pakistan. One day In Karachi Pakistan a bike mechanic tried to fool me by telling me that I need clutch plates, mean while it was a matter of replacing acceleration cable that was broken. Never the less the bike was stolen 2 days after 😂

    Canada used to be a beautiful country when I came here some 21 years ago. Its unfortunate that things have come to this. I blame the current Trudeau govt for allowing this to happen. Just like the UK, Canada has opened the flood gates to student immigration and are charging intl' students 3 times more than a local student in fees. Having taken so many newcomers in such a short amount of time has spiked up housing prices, more competition for jobs and lowered the standard of living. This has all happened in the last 10 years and there's no one else to blame but the Trudeau govt.

    Without education coming to western countries is bad idea, without funds coming for education is real
    Bad idea. Keep in mind people who live in North America will have hard time pay for their kids college education and need loans as well. You can’t pay for education working with 15/ hr jobs it is not possible plus living by expenses and owning a vehicle with insurance,
    Post Covid North America is very different for cost of living so plan better. Young people can survive the hard time, good technical education will get you through if jobs is your goal. Life is hard no pain no gain that how it is and will be. People are not cheated by Canada they cheat themselves convincing that they will survive here without planning or they are desperate to leave at all cost. Only themselves to blame.

    Canada is going hard on international students as the Universities have exploited international students. Canadian real estate, healthcare, jobs and immigration has been stretched thin due the massive influx of international students. Canadian government is going to respond and it will become harder for students.
    As a refugee who escaped persecution in Pakistan and immigrated to Canada, I cannot be more thankful. I have found support, understanding, respect and opportunities. I am enrolled in a program totally funded by the government ands upon completion I will be able to earn a respectable living. About question number 2. I used to be someone who lived in Saudi Arabia and I had tons of hobbies and they were mostly work out such as cycling and playing football but after coming here in Karachi, Pakistan and here is out things go down. First off people don’t play football and even if they do, they always team up with each other which leaves no competition behind or as most of the people don’t know how to play so no one really tries to play they just simple pick up the football and start bouncing it like a basketball and when it comes to bicycle no proper roads, no safety nothing and now I have also become someone who just only has a will to just get married, get a job and become an avg boring person with no particular person and even if you try discussing these things with people/family cousins they just bring up reasons like we got no will while they themselves having no hobby :v

    Canada is one of the top countries in the world. Watching videos of students lining up for part-time jobs doesn't define a $2 trillion economy. Opportunities depend on your college/ university. If you believe you'll be paid in gold when you're doing a diploma from a low class college, then I'm sorry it doesn't happen in any country. Also, Canadian firms recognize your experience if you've worked at global firms. Your experience at Abdullah and Sons Ltd as deputy manager doesn't count here.
