I've got it at the moment. Life has been terrible. I nearly lost my eldest son and it's all been very overwhelming. The Friday before last my son was working from home but he started feeling awful at about 11 am. He never has time off sick but on that Friday he phoned in sick in the afternoon. I went up to his house on Saturday and then left him to pop to Lidl but about half an hour later he called me and said he needed to go to the hospital. I rushed back and he'd blacked out and may have had a fit. He was unconscious for nearly 2 minutes. He'd hit his head too. I called 111 and they said they were sending an ambulance. We waited a while so I called the ambulance service and was told they would be at least an hour but more likely 3 hours. I'd only got my car back on the Friday evening so his brother and myself got him into the car and I took him to A&E. They rushed him into triage and then the nurse took him straight into the Dr. They did his obs and said he was in a critical condition. They debated putting him in ICU but had no beds. The Dr spoke to me and said if I'd not taken him in there and then I would have been planning his funeral because he had less than an hour to live. I was in total shock because they discovered he had sepsis that was due to a staph blood infection. They put him straight onto majors ward and he had tubes coming from everywhere. His temperature was 40.5 and they were desperately trying to get it down. At first they thought it was a kidney infection then pendasitus and then sadly discovered he has Crohn's disease. The hospital staff were amazing and they saved my boys life. I know he will be 28 in January but he is still my child. He came out of hospital some days later and then got this awful flu. He has to take his temperature and keep a close eye on it. They have told us that he has reduced immunity due to the sepsis and having Crohn's disease. Now I've got this nasty flu and I've no doubt my younger son will end up with it. We are all asthmatic so we just hope we have a flu free Christmas. Hope you feel better and that your husband and boys are well. Have a happy family Christmas. I've got the best presents ever, my sons. Sending you all Christmas greetings and kind regards Angeline ❤️
Oh my goodness Angeline what a time you have had that all sounds terrible 😞 I’m so glad you got your son home and I hope you are all feeling better soon and enjoy a fabulous family Christmas together ♥️♥️♥️♥️ Take care C x
@clairemariehoward Thanks Claire, I just hope we can all be feeling better for Christmas. It does put things into perspective when you come so close to losing a son. We all moan about the NHS but without such dedicated medical professionals I wouldn't have my eldest son alive. Hope you all have a healthy and very happy family Christmas. Enjoy making special memories. ❤️xx
I'm currently mega poorly!! Throat head and sweats! Been in bed all weekend! Sweating as I type but also cooking a roast dinner coz today I'm starving!! 😂
The cookies in the vase made me laugh, that's my kind of arrangement 😂 I wonder if you've had a bit of inflammation with you not feeling well and your hands/neck hurting and that's what's caused the gain 🤔
😂😂😂 that’s a temporary arrangement 😂 I say that they are still there 3 days later !!! That vase will be a beautiful Christmas center piece 😉 and I will find a cookie jar 😂 I think it could be I did feel a bit swollen at times 🤨 so glad it seems to be all gone now x any upcoming gains will be because I ate those cookies 🤦🏻♀️
Hope you're feeling better soon and having a wonderful Christmas!
