Absolutely fantastic interview and some wonderful memories. Have seen you at so many away games through the years Joe. Only spoke a handful of times but have followed you on Twitter for sometime. One of the R’s most loyal supporters.
Great video. I met Joe when I was a QPR steward for LU - nice chap. Love the memories & optimism. Oh & I agree about Rio - me & my young Son shouted at him at West Ham away!.
Brian I thought there was going to be an explaination for Frank Sibley but I don't think that was covered. So Rodney Marsh was a guest of the school or a part-time teacher didn't quite follow the line. Joe Hylton loves the club. I wonder if he would possibly acknowledge that last season's crop of players were the poorest in a very long while. Hopefully the newer ones who came in will demonstrate better things by the end of the season.
@daviocampi6951 We had another question planned where I guess Frank Sibley would have come up.... Sadly, we ran out of time this podcast, but I intend to get Joe back for another trip along memory lane!
@@hoopsanddreamsQPRBrentford played a preseason friendly at Benfica in front of 40,000 +. Before the game they had a 🦅 eagle flying around the stadium. How mad is that. I’am trying to train bees to fly around the GTech ( it’s not going well ).
Brings back many memories for me since the very first match that I saw as an eight year old in 1973 when we beat Swindon Town 5-0 in Division 2. And that began my love affair with officially West London's only club (Chelsea and Fulham are South West London (basically South) clubs). Too many stories, and I thought that I was going to play for them until I broke bones in my instep from a 50-50 tackle. Some mind-blowingly great times, and some absolutely miserable ones, too. @hoopsanddreamsQPR So sorry for the lateness of my reply, Bryan. I'm honoured by your invitation. Now I'm worried about doing the correct justice that this podcast deserves. I shall be digging into my archives. 🔵⚪️

@@graham11950 Top bloke and absolutely bleeds blue and white!
What an interesting pod cast! Everyone on the pitch back then is an R's legend so Joe is an R's legend 👍
@@Bennyboy138 Absolutely they are legends!

@footballfumb5495 you are right - Joe is a lovely man as well as a typical cabbie!
Glad to say I was on the pitch that day. Ran on from the loft end. Disappointingly there wasn’t total support from those in the ground.
@abogas1641 then you were part of our collective history - well done!
Great pod cast - I was also on the pitch in ‘87 as a scruffy teenager.
Sounds like you played a major role in QPR being the club it is today. Without that protest who knows what could have happened!
Great interview, I remember most of those events too 😀🔵⚪️🔵⚪️🔵⚪️

He used to park his cab outside my house on match days.

It's dawned on me that the teacher was perhaps explaining that Rodney had just been transferred from Fulham to QPR.

Not so long ago we'd invite you guys for a pre-season friendly... where did it all go wrong 😔
@nigelbaldwin1038 I am not sure my brother would be happy us taking you over! ;)
