I’m frequently asked if the soil should be removed before transferring to LECA. Absolutely yes when dealing with regular soil. Click & Grow pods are sponge-like and designed to stay moist, while allowing airflow, so they’re totally fine being transferred as is. Getting the roots free of the sponge would probably cause more harm than good, so I’ve found that it’s best to leave it intact.
Thank you! I'M new at C&G and this is great info. Happy New Year!!!
So glad you found it helpful! Happy new year to you too!
Hello! (: I’m a new subscriber & new to the world of gardening, and am definitely interested & would like to start indoor, small scale gardening. Ideally I would like to start with managing & maintaining just a couple small plants indoors until I at least get the hang of it. Please no judgement in what I’m about to ask lol but if it comes a time when, for example my lil pepper 🌶️ plant lol like the one in this video, has outgrown it’s small original pot, for anything that can be done to the plant like for example trimming its roots a bit as well as maybe a few node branches in order to keep the plant in its original pot? Or is it a must that the over grown plant at that stage be replanted into a larger pot?
thank you for this! 💚 how do you think this compares to transferring the plant into regular soil?
I think it’s more of a preference. I’ve transferred click & grow pods to soil outdoors and they did great! I specifically tried it with chili peppers and wild strawberries and both plants got so much bigger after being transferred outside
@@gardeningindoors i see, thank you for sharing! i don’t have access to outdoor planting, so glad to know both work :-)
