- Hacktoberfest is a great time to get people involved in Open Source! Being involved in Open Source can help you up skill, network and accelerate your career. However, this year had a lot of spammy pull requests. In this video I will pick out some funny spammy pull requests.
I used the twitter account for resources / shitoberfest

One contributing.md and one small script in a Python scripting repo. Looking at open issues now, found one repo with 60 open issue I would like to contribute in that.😅
My contributions were mostly documentation... added a few simple programs to compilation projects
I got this PR while on stream and even got other people in chat fix the build for the first-timer github.com/open-sauced/open-sauced/pull/847
@@mitanshikshatriya3880 it was fun to look at what people created. I think with a little more effort they could have done valuable PRs
@@akshayakulasekaran219 documentation contributions are great!! It is usually what is missing or neglected from most projects
I like how half of them are just “improved docs”
LOL :)
Absolutely hilarious reactions! 😂. I need to start learning the Scale programming language. Sounds like the next big thing
LOL "scale" is going to be the next big thing HAHA. Thank you for the great feedback :)
That thumbnail! Hahahaha
T-shirt Driven Development ...It's a THING! 😆
LOL yep :) - also I just learnt that there are special pens that can write on t-shirts that are washable...I might need to get some LOL
I made few PRS where we have to code ML algorithms without using sklearn, for beginners . But I don't know how to do that. I wrote a code using sklearn with very very detailed explanation through comments. Even though I used sklearn just because of my detailed explanation it got accepted. I felt really happy for contributing to open source and I will be contributing more and more from know.
Awesome! Great work and thank you for sharing! Keep going :)
😂, but on the bright a lot of my frnds have learnt pull request and abt open source contribution.
That is great! I hope most people continue contributing to open source after Hacktoberfest
I think we got content which is more valuable than the T-shirt
Lol 😂 👍👍
Yes this is absolutely insane. If you want a T shirt go buy it from a store. But if you want to earn it do 👍 it legit
People went so crazy over a tshirt 😱
@@eddiejaoude i known some people who created 3 and more github accounts for them
@@lakshyadhariwal248 oh no, that is terrible :(. Maybe we do not have Hacktoberfest next year after this
I created many PRs but all of them are useful. 3 of them were on the same repo. Where he made me collaborator
That is awesome to hear! Being made a collaborator is a great achievement, nice work! This is what Hacktoberfest is meant to be about, thank you for sharing :)
@@eddiejaoude Thanks! You are one of my inspirations
@@MaxProgramming thank you, I really appreciate the great and super positive feedback - it gives me energy and motivation to do even more :)

5:09 EPIC😂😂. I think people have to be serious about Open Source.
LOL that was a funny one, the new language "Scale" LOL :). Open source welcomes everyone who wants to add value, so I think if people made a little effort it would help them and the community. Seems like things are getting better now, so lets hope :)
From now onwards I'll do all my work in "Scale"😂😂
Scale is the new cool thing 👍
This video gave me a laugh. I love the commentary and tech videos on youtube. You combined both elegantly.
Lol thank you Brian 👍
laal bindi .mp3 op
Thumbnail is on point 👍😂😂😂
Lol haha thank you 😂👍
Got the notification just now! 🤐
Oh 😱. What did you think of the video?
@@eddiejaoude Awwwwwwwesome!!!
Well, you could have treated them a bit more harshly. XD
lol I didnt want to be too harsh especially as it had their names :)
Made quite a few pull requests.. But the best one I guess was creating an article for DXHeroes!
Nice!. I need do some more PRs
@@eddiejaoude Bdw made 1 pull request on your awesome-github-profiles too 😉
Although it won't count as hacktoberfest PR but anyhow contributing is gr888!!
@@shyampraveensingh1958 nice! It gets easier and the benefits get bigger! Keep going :)
@@eddiejaoude Sure👍
5:13😂😂 Scala - scale
LOL I know right! HAHA :D
