Forest Brothers - Fight for the Baltics
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 10 июл 2017
- After the Second World War, soldiers from across the Baltics who had fought on both sides of the war disappeared into the forests to wage Europe's bloodiest guerrilla war against the occupying Soviet forces.
"Forest Brothers - Fight for the Baltics' includes interviews with former partisan fighters and those who supported them and dramatic battle scene recreations and interviews with modern-day Special Forces of Lithuania, the direct descendants of the Forest Brothers.

Far too many people glorify the USSR.
Especially modern day leftists, who don't know what is the communism.
@@Gaudy696 I see them a lot,I mean evrythere!! They act like its heaven. They are brainwashed
@@artelislt Who acts like the USSR is heaven? Ive seen some praises for it but never have seen people say it was the best.
@@dylansmall1651 Russians and western leftists glorify it.

Лесные братья
My grandad brother Stanislovas was a forest brother and died in 1953 near small lituanian city Meskuiciai. In this battle against soviet NKVD troops died 18 lithuanian patriots. Rest in peace, heroes.
Pagarba.
Sie sind nicht vergessen...Ehre ihnen 🙏🏼🕯
Regards from Germany
The same thing happened in Romania. People took to the mountains and fought the communist scums for years. Many died fighting, some of them betrayed, a few survived to tell the story. Respect for our heroes! Never forget that communism is a criminal regime!
@Hans S No, it's different. What USSR had before was Stalin's power hungry "communism". Many ideas such as gulags and countless repressions weren't written in the manifesto, and rather, any blockage of freedom to communists was opposed. Problem was that it's simply wasn't achievable with peaceful ways. An ideology that on paper sounds amazing but in practice is basically impossible to achieve.
Can I read up on that somewhere? Seems very interesting to me.
@@codenamecordon there is many books on that in latvia, some might be translated to english
@@NoiceWeed Speaking from a guy living in Vietnam, communism is a failure in theory and in practice. The proletariat revolution that Marx proposed is repression and bloodshed. I started to think you are a closet commie.
Can you give any video or names where I can read or see about what. We all post communist countries must to be friends and be ready to any attack. In what time we don’t have any contact with each other now we must be all like one fist 👊

I'm from Finland, and oh, my country knows what it feels like to fight a russian. All the respect and love to the veterans and current day, independent citizens of the baltic countries from Finland!
Same respect to Finland, you are our heroes, you fought like true heroes for your own land and people and beat the evil red terror.
I actually first learned of the Forest Brothers by reading about Mannerheim. He seems like he was a great man.
I think the forrest brothers formed because they were inspired by guerrilla warfare in finland
even though i'm not baltic, i plan on moving to latvia. love from america, njet molotoff!
The Baltic countries had a more bitter fight but eventually they, too, gained independence again.

Long live forest brothers. Greetings from Ukraine
Thanks bro,, Slava Ukrane..
@@vytautaszemelis3929 I love the fact that every country who lived under communism hates it
Slava Ukraini!
Reaction to this from the Russians is funny because it shows how clearly schizophrenic they are: on the one side, they claim that they broke up with the Soviet legacy yet they clearly defend it fiercely, on the one side they claim Soviet Union was international and not just Russian, yet they take every criticism of the USSR VERY personaly. Also typical is that when you speak about Katyn or some Soviet occupation or massacres, Russians are always like "it was not us Russians, it was the SOVIETS, it was collective responsibility", but when its about Space programme, Soviet sports or victory in WW2, suddenly they claim EVERYTHING Soviet was in fact Russian.
Adam B True
Much like they desperately cling to their lies that the Soviet occupation was voluntary... They pretend they didn't invade and occupy, instead Putler has changed their history books to say these countries voted to 'join'
Quite true,schizophrenia neosovietica.
Adam B -The Big Respect for YOU!!!😊😊👍💖👍
@@TheInfamousMrFox Where is the lie? I am sure there is a decision of the Supreme Soviets of the Baltic states to join the USSR somewhere. Lithuania even gained its capital city from Soviet conquests. They have nothing to moan about.

That is why many are upset at the destruction of forests in the Baltic countries in 2019.
The Baltics were surrounded by two terrible regimes, Nazism and Soviets. But they fought for the Baltics, for their country. Many resisted Nazism and Soviets and many will perished but they shall live on cause their country is now free from both regimes.
My great grandpa was a forest brother. My grandpa always tells the story of how he fought and died against a soviet patrol.
I am proud to be the granddaughter of a Lithuanian forest brother who was exiled to Siberia and managed to return. Long live the heroes of independent nations!

I was working the other day here in Canada with a young man from Latvia, he was surprised I knew where that was. Of course I do I told him and went on to tell him about how I knew of the Baltic States & Finlands fight for freedom from the Soviets in the last century. It is sad that Russia, the largest country on earth, is such a bully. For Russia truly to be great, they will respect the freedom of their neighbors.
As a Russian, I respect the memory of these Freedom Fighters. Stalinism and Putinism should be condemned at a new Nuremberg trial!
Glory to the Forest Brothers!

Didn't know about forrest brothers until now. We in Czechia (and Slovakia) know what it feels like to struggle with communist "liberators" (Prague spring 1968). Glory to forrest brothers.
Yes half of Europe has experienced the red terror and other states around the world too..
And now it begins again
And we will stand, united this time, for our freedom like our forefathers did. And with God/Gods help we will prevail.
Forest brothers are real heroes.

7:04 "It is a nice feeling, we can talk freely now."
This really made an impact with me.
Yes, because talking about anti-communist ideas would get you imprisoned, deported or killed under the soviet occupation.
Watching this in 2022 gives different feelings

As an Estonian this is very important, I believe more people should know about these heroes to their country, true patriots willing to fight til their dying breath.
I respect those who fought for a good cause I respect those fallen who fought for ur independence
Baltic States were also last ones to surrender to soviet union completely
I was in Latvia three times, and i can say, Latvians are a stout and proud people , and they have every right to be proud, dealing with so much shit and still stand as a nation! I hope Latvia will be peosperous and free for a long time! Greetings from Holland!!!!
Respect from Czech lands.
My mother's family comes from Lithuania. I'm proud to have a connection to those brave men and women.
Lithuania and Baltic countries NEVER wanted to be a part of the Soviet Union. The US never recognized occupation and never gave our gold to Soviets. Out terrain was unlucky to rage a war convenient to small the resistance of small populations.
Baltic states will fight till the end
But Russians tell the story, that Baltics "joined" voluntarily with the USSR. one big BS story from communists.

It's sad that they fought so hard but weren't able to drive the Soviets out of their country. I guess in the end they were successful because the Baltics are now independent and with NATO they will be protected in the future. 👍
