Problem is buying a new construction home and finding out issues with lawn months later...and now its summer...getting dead spots, finding rocks, bottles and bricks underneath.

Good tips BYD. Glad you prepared the soil. If you lay sod over too much grass, when the grass beneath dies it produces lots of heat and reeks havoc on the new sod roots trying to establish. To be honest, I can't believe you didn't hang in there and cultivate what you had in the back. Nothing like new sod though, but I put the time in my backyard and it is running on all cylinders. As you know, Bermuda self repairs if you hang in there with it. My front and side yard is award winning perfect I must say. Keep my mower blade sharp and cut it sometimes 3 x a week. Minimum twice a week weather permitting. Keep the videos coming, and carry on.

Great tips, we just had Bermuda installed. Looks okay so far at 10 days, I’m going to get some masonry sand to fill in the few gaps. Watering twice a day 30 minutes each. We had 60 tons of fill dirt added to stop a runoff problem and added clean topsoil. Still some areas aren’t greening up but the soil is moist underneath. We’re in South Carolina. Thanks for the channel!

Good advice BYD, Ive put down sod on golf courses and home yards, all southern types, Zoysia, Bermuda, Cent P. and St A. We always prepped the bare ground with grub/Insect granules about 10 days to 2 weeks before we set the sod. Ive used granulated triple 8, triple 10, triple 13 even a 0-0-14 fertilizer. Never ever ever had any issues with any of these previous items. Like BYD said if you you have some weeds pull em by hand, even sedges tho theyll return. If you feel you must or have no choice but to spray for weeds, half dose it and hit the weed(s) 2 maybe 3 times with a 2 week interval between sprays. We used both granulated and liquid fungus products within a week of sod setting and never had any bad results. I live in south central Gawgia and you have to water new sod in the warm season 2 times a day """"""""minimum"""""""""". (In July and August) we sprayed a couple extra times during very hot days, something just over a light wetting about 5-8 minutes of cooling off the sod during the hot times. Thanks again BYD, great damned video.

I applied starter fertilizer like the sod farm recommended. Been a week and sod is rooted. Cannot pull the sod off the ground. Already greening up like crazy also on day 7.
Landscaper did not prep soil. Only remove the old st Augustine. So I'm guessing soil is already good.

I put down my T31 on May 5 and I’m already had seed heads show up. I’m now cutting at 7/8” and that seems to have gotten rid of most the seed heads. I didn’t sand my joints and I’m wishing I had now. I may still come in and them and a few small low spots. But what can I do about high spots where the mower scalps the new grass? I was thinking of using my hand core aerator on that spot and see if it will settle down some.

@@BYDonBermudaGrassCentral okay ordered the BioAdvanced Fungus Control and will apply it today. Like I mentioned earlier, I applied Image to my lawn on Jun 1st. Is it okay to mow the lawn while the weeds are dying or do I need to wait til they are all almost dead completely? For example the annual poa I have, I see the roots browning and yellowing but just don’t want to cut it and have the seed heads go back in the yard and create more
