Rolling out another one - LPS 420 E for Borg Havn | Liebherr

From Rostock, Germany, to the world: With a maximum lifting capacity of up to 1,600 tonnes, the TCC 78000 stands as one of the most powerful rail-mounted heavy-duty gantry cranes in the world. The crane moves over 420 metres on a portal connecting our maritime production plant to the adjacent quayside, facilitating the loading of large-sized and heavy-duty goods at the Port of Rostock.

The video shows the positioning of an LPS 420 E for our customer at the Port of Borg. Our highly professional heavy lift teams positioned the crane, developed and produced in Rostock, using the TCC 78000 for loading at the quayside.
To align with its climate goals and offer versatile cargo handling options, Borg Havn has chosen the Liebherr LPS 420 E. The port's investment in an electric infrastructure provides an ideal foundation for the crane's operation. Delivered fully assembled by ship, the crane was installed on the quay at Øra in Fredrikstad.
Borg Havn's investment in this all-electric harbour crane marks a significant milestone - it's the first of its kind to be delivered in Norway and surpasses the average turnover of comparable electric-driven cranes in the market. All crane movements, including luffing, hoisting, slewing and travelling, are powered by electric motors. The LPS 420 E can be supplied with either high or low voltage, depending on the transformer requirements. This commitment ensures that Borg Havn can efficiently manage its logistical operations while significantly reducing its environmental impact.
