this is probably the best. it keeps the same formula but adds entirely unique pieces to it, of course as per tradition the final clip is one bigass attack that the castle somehow survives
First, I want to say that all the animators were pretty great in this. The handmade drawings could use a little work, but for what it is, the animation teams did wonderful work with this project. This was animated beautifully and while the comedy doesn't always land, the animation does a great job of trying to make this interesting. That said. The jokes are running dry with this concept as so many people have done so many different versions of this concept, including another set of two collabs that did a lot of these jokes much better. Most of the jokes in this had been done before, and honestly, aside from a few moments, there wasn't really a whole lot of jokes that really got any humor out of this when we'd seen similar jokes in other animations done much better. Overall, this concept has been done to death, and honestly, I'm surprised people even care to watch these animations anymore (the only reason I think people do is nostalgia as most of the people who comment talk about the old Castle Calamities. I know that there are still a lot of people who enjoy these animations, and I don't want to discourage that. But honestly, people need to move on. It's a great part of sprite animation history and Super Mario animation history, and it should always be remembered as such. But it's time to leave it in the past. The horse is dead. Move on. I don't want to discourage the animators who worked on this, nor do I want to discourage the people who like watching these. I'm not trying to be a jerk and say it sucks or something. If you disagree with me, then fine. You're entitled to your opinion. But I only say what I do because this channel is great, and I want to see this channel do its own ideas, which I feel is what it does best.
I 100% agree with you there I originally didn't think a castle calamity would work well because at this point it's been running dry lmao but then I thought about how team level up hasn't really done its own spin on the castle calamity so I went why not and I can tell this was a huge success and a damn fun collab at that so yea
