I live 10 minutes from his birthplace and about 15 from his boyhood home. This man is one of the most fascinating men in history. From a cabin on the frontier to changing the directory of the human race. Had he not kept the Union together.....what world would we live in now?

@@rc123theycallmeI’ll bite. Why do you think the world would be better? Why was Lincoln twisted and in what sense? Because in some ways you are right that he suffered from mental illness pretty much his entire life. But I think I have a feeling you aren’t referring to that. So let’s hear it. You said the more you learn, implying you’ve got sources you been learning from. Share your sources.

I can understand why he would say that the challenge he had to face was greater than that of Washington. Washington had more people in the country supporting him...the colonies were united. By the time of Lincoln there were two Americas, union and confederate...Not many wanted to assassinate Washington.

It is so heartbreaking that the republicans allowed trump and the magas to destroy the party of our great President Abraham Lincoln. Praying for my country and so thankful to my father who served in the Army in WWII and my brother and husband who served honorably during the difficult Vietnam era. I proudly honor my husband who served in the Air Force and my brother who served in the Navy on the Ticonderoga. Thank you, President Lincoln for your great service and sacrifice and to all who have honorably served our great nation.
