I feel like necrovalley decks are slow but they'll slow your opponents down with them with Necrovalley and Secret Temples of Necrovalley effectively shutting down decks heavily reliant on special summons(Basically Meta Decks). Another advatage for Gravekeeper's Decks is the fact how cheap you can build it when buying as singles from local card shops. Spent less than 10 dollars and got all the core Gravekeeper cards, price may vary. Fill in plenty of negate cards(Solemn Series) and voila! You have a necrovalley deck.
Made an extremely nasty GraveKeeper’s deck and my friend tried making decks to beat it cause I’ve locked down everything and even card effects that activate in the GY including Darklord Nurseburn couldn’t use her effect
i know this is old video but heretic isnt affected by necrovalley since it's unnafected by everything WHILE necrovalley is on the feild, it doesnt say except necrovalley
I love these guys. I have a gravekeeper deck built for goat, Edison and hat formats. Soear soldier was also alot better than you gave it credit for. Under Necrovalley, it was bigger than Airknight Parsath
Recruiter is also not once per turn. You can seriously abuse this effect. Example: Tribute Recruiter to Chief*. Revive it with Chief. Use Throne to Tribute to any Gravekeeper*. Revive with Rite of Spirit. Link Summon any card*. * = triggering a search. I love using Recruiter to search Commandant to get more copies of Necrovalley. Really demoralizes your opponent.
I was running dark dragon thingy. Its been too long. I still have my deck in a ultra pro deck box just sitting there. I rarely ever touch it. It's the hell hole where my money used to go to lol. Anyways used to use stuff like that. Have 3 darks in the graveyard use it effect, allure of darkness was a good one. Even used starlight road. Eh you want to destroy everything. Poof negated and special summon a stardust dragon. Was wanting to run that crittious dragon fusion in my deck. You know the one that fuses with a crush card virus is a dark dragon. Suppose to be a good control card. I was running xyz material utopia warrior's in my deck. Was working. Easy to grab up 2 lv 4 monsters. My issue was getting them on the field fast enough. There was a magic card that allowed you to double summon. Most effects of gravekeepers was from their card's and more likely I was trying my best to OTK if I could. Was even thinking about the forbidden pieces since most gravekeepers would thin out your deck anyways.
Supernaturalist gains more atk/def depending on the combined levels of the monsters that summoned it. If you tribute Oracle from the hand, that's an extra 10 levels. With Necrovalley, that's likely a 3900 atk monster on the field that can't be destroyed outside of battle. I have one in my deck and I can get it to the hand with Recruiter or Throne.
Also heretic will not get boost of necrovalley. Also nobleman and soy is a good combo, visionary is good for later game, and oracle is good for using as fusion material with spiritualist
5:33 consider the fact that most GK decks want to have valley out first turn all GKs get extra 500 attack so level 4 with 200 attack is not shit(especially for early years yugioh)
Yeah at the time 1900ATK was the highest attack you could get from a level 4 monster without a negative effect. The game was a lot slower so if you first turn Necrovalley, summoning out a 2000 ATK monster immediately put your opponent on the defensive. Piercing applied even more pressure since your opponent couldn't just put a wall like Spirit Reaper down.
I think you are too harsh on assailant and watcher by old school yugioh standards. Obviously they are not great now. But there were plenty of good cards with discard costs you could negate with watchman like lightning vortex, magic jammer, raigeki break, karma cut, tribute to the doomed, back to square one, etc. And there are definitely situations in older yugioh where assailant's ability could be useful. There were plenty of monsters with lopsided attack and defense that you would love to change the battle positions of as assaliant could destroy them that way such as gemini elf, la jinn mystical geni of the lamp, neo the magical swordsman, giant solidier of stone, mystical elf, summoned skull, etc.
Gravekeeper decks used to be so annoying for me lol. Although I never used one myself, there's this one card called "The End of Anubis" that, while not part of the Gravekeepers archetype, its effect is pretty much that of Necrovalley. I used to run that card in my DARK deck back in the day before Synchros came out. Nice use of the Forbidden Memories OST btw!

The gravekeepers fusion monster is a must have since it protects your necrovalley and itself and also let's you grab pretty much any card you want from your deck during each of your end phases. It also has great stats. But don't bother clogging your deck with polymerization, gravekeepers spiritualist acts as poly for the deck along as you have necrovalley on feild(which in any good GK deck you have within your first few turns if not your fist turn). Running visionary or Oracle along side it really helps with the attack boost for supernaturalist plus they are both good cards. I know this uploader doesn't seem to like visionary but to me it is a great card it has protection and good stats. Starts at 2000 Goes to 2500 with valley Gains 200 for each GK in grave Sends a GK to the grave for the protection so gets even more attack.

If I get the right hand (Spy/Guardian/Recruiter/Nobleman, Necrovalley, Solidarity, and Visionary) I get a 3500 ATK monster with protection that actually buffs it on turn two. Not to mention that Solidarity stacks so running three and Necrovalley is a 2900 ATK boost if I can get it.
Why are gravekeepers associated with marik?
@@DeltaShinyZeta ok cause I saw gravekeepers in marik's structure deck and in the scripted duel against Pegasus and I was just thinking " wait, marik did not use gravekeepers."
Necrovalley AKA Ghost Belle On Crack!
honest question but seriously, are flip summons really not relevant at all anymore?
imagine summoning 7+ monsters in one turn to get to a high-level monster and then being bounced by Gravekeeper's Guard just like that.
i mean, forget the win/lose for a moment but can y'all imagine the feeling? :(
@@DeltaShinyZeta ah.. i see. it's sad to know that my fav archetypes (gravekeepers and crystal beasts) aren't even relevant anymore these days. those two kept me playing yugioh games for a really long time...
I disagree with you about Visionary. That card beats over most cards with 3k atk in 2010
Breh you lost me when you said don't run Poly , your not a duelist lol
the reason people don't tribute is because it's a pointless -1, but chief isn't because it specials a gravekeeper from the grave. Not to say it's amazing, but running 1 copy isn't actually the worst idea.
You uploaded this 3 month's ago so you should be able to help with what card's can go into this deck in order to make it a pro tournament deck. I've faced pros before. I stopped playing because of this crap with most people playing meta deck's no matter whose turn it was the opponent would be I special summon this to your side of the field destroy your field special summon to my field attack end of game. Note this was when link started and I was like very confused because I've played since the show was on tv.
Starts at 2000
Goes to 2500 with valley
Gains 200 for each GK in grave
Sends a GK to the grave for the protection so gets even more attack.
Man these takes have aged terribly.
