  • Among other things, Mr. Hoffman will address how targeted parents can avoid certain predictable pitfalls. Specific topics will include direct examination of experts for the targeted parents, cross-examination of experts for the alienating parents, and both direct and cross examinations of court-appointed experts including custody evaluators, psychological or psychiatric evaluators, guardians ad litem, visitation supervisors, parenting coordinators, and others. Another key theme will be how to distinguish between science and pseudoscience in the courtroom. Because Mr. Hoffman will focus on basic principles - including practical considerations for dealing with alienating parents and also court-appointed professionals - this is likely to be extraordinarily helpful not only to litigating parents and their attorneys, but to alienated parents and grandparents in general.
Robert Hoffman is Board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is also a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Robert has been practicing family law for 33 years. He has been successful in handling as lead counsel numerous bench and jury trials and negotiating highly contested child custody battles, high net worth divorces, complex financial disputes and cases involving parental alienation. He successfully represented Kelly Jones against Alex Jones (Infowars fame) in a jury trial in Austin, Texas in 2016. He is well-known and specializes in trying complex cases. Robert enjoys working closely with and advocating for people at a critical time in their lives. Robert has been consistently included in Texas Super Lawyers 2003-2019 and Best Lawyers.

So true about judge not weighing evidence on a scale to see who wins. Rather judges decide who they want to win then use evidence to support their conclusions.

From Massachusetts and doing this on my own without an attorney.
Dealing with a parent that has an undiagnosed psychiatric condition or disorder, who is abusing the child , gaslighting, isolation, emotional blackmail, manipulation, and threats of murder if she ‘angers’ him,..
And it angers the father if she talks to her mother or shows her any allegiance in anyway, or if she is around her mother or with her mother in her home.
At the present time, the child is 99% aligned with her father who she is afraid of,
But my daughter knows what has happened to her.
Because this started out as my daughter being estranged from her father and not wanting to see him anymore from witnessing him abuse her mother and witness and experience, his gaslighting, lying to our face, stealing our things, but then being forced by court order to have alone visitation time with this man, and has subsequently become aligned with him and is only complicit with him. She won’t even listen to me if I tell her to walk towards me,. she wont go to school for me. She won’t even answer my phone calls, but she will tell you that she knows what has happened to her, we have discussed it along the way as it was happening, she is aware of how she is acting and aware of how it is wrong in the sense that there is no reason for her to be acting like this towards her mother, but she will tell you she can’t help it.
She is angry at me and was outraged that she even had to start visiting with him because she didn’t want to and it was wrong. He was abusive and bad to us. . And he only sought the court ordered visitation because we tried to address his abuse and get help
But I was not able to protect her or myself here at Boston family probate court, so my child has been tortured for the past 36 months.
My daughter is waiting for me to fix this and to save her, my fear, apprehension, and delay in seeking any kind of modification, is there is no appropriate modification other than complete and total suspension of the parenting time, and by revealing to the court the incriminating things that father has said to child, which he has threatened her not to tell, this puts the both of us in a very dangerous position if the court fails to see it my way and continues with the visitation then what are we supposed to do?
He will severely punish my daughter, and it may make him so angry that he might sexually abuse her to get back at me. .
He is deeply disturbed and sick. Individual yet can go extended periods of time appearing normal. He was not a life partner. I had a short romantic relationship with him and became unexpectedly pregnant. At 40..
I found your video to be extremely helpful. This is something I have not known how to address with the court and that is my belief of a serious mental disorder on his part. And you are right it is a medical issue in my instance anyways. Because the father is behaving in textbook ways indicative of NPD or bipolar, sociopath, antisocial disorder, they all overlap, but based on my own research into his behaviors,
How do I tell the court that I am dealing with someone that appears to have a medical condition because of their inability to follow any of the rules and inability not deviate from reality, and force upon my daughter to accept things are not true or else she will get punished. but has enough awareness and insight to threaten my daughter not to tell me things ?
I have asked the court three times to have a lawyer appointed for us and they have refused to me.
And when I told the judge last week that I would held my daughter from her father because my daughter did not want to go, and she was having suicidal idealizations,
The judge told me there was a disconnect, and she punished me for being in contempt, contemporarily reverse in custody for a month.
This is an absolute mess and she’s not seeing things correctly as you say in your video and she has made a very bad decision for my daughter’s health and state of mind and safety.
And the disconnect is in my lack of representation and not being able to get the correct information to the court and their failure to help me they refusing me a GAL.. any advice? By the way, no legal aid wants to touch this. They have tremendous sympathy for me. But do not know how to handle a case like this. in fact when I asked them if they could even direct me to an organization or a group of people or any body of health professionals that could conduct and evaluation for me to determine that it was unsafe for my daughter to be in the company of her father, they told me they did not know how to do this
And getting a forensic evaluation done without an attorney is impossible because I have tried.
My daughter and I are in desperate need of help., my little girl was in desperate need of help to save her life.

The only way to "fight" parental alianation is to prove the benifit to the child for maintaining a relationship with parents.

Excellent! This truly is a horrific situation. So unfair how innocent children are being so manipulated in these situations by the parent who does not have their best interest at heart. Sure wish something could be done as my daughter has a custody case coming up against a dad with borderline personality disorder/covert/antagonist narcissist. This breaks my heart as their grandmother. What can I do to help my daughter?
