This was the first Broadway show I've ever seen and as a theatre student I have to say this show was breathe taking I'd watch it again if I ever have the chance
Rachel J The only thing I can think of is maybe the voice of the cave, which I believe is Booming and deep, but they do make even that funny. So I do think your 5 year old would absolutely enjoy it as well.
Rachel J For you this answer might be way too late, but maybe someone else will be curious. So, I watched the show yesterday and the only thing scary is the cave. There is a short scene where it gets dark and that somehow scary voice comes up but more or less directly afterwards someone makes it all funny. So there might be a short shock for the younger ones but it won't be too bad and will be just a short moment, I promise. :)
I think the biggest inspiration of Disney's Aladdin was the Mughal Empire, which was an Islamic empire in present-day India. I think that's why there are Bollywood elements and influences in the Broadway production :)
@@alistairt7544Mughal empire may have been Islamic but all Persianized with indo-Persian influence. The Taj Mahal itself was built for a Persian emperor.
I was in NYC last year and I saw "The lion king" and "Aladdin" on Broadway, the same week. I loved the first, but this one is far way better than any musical I've ever seen in Broadway and in the West End. If you'll ever have a chance... Don't miss it!!!
*Warning! There are steobe lights used in this performance* This musical was awesome. My first Broadway show and it was a magical experience. I suggest you sit in the mezzanine if youccan afford. All the acting is fantasic, especially the Genie.
STUNNING, INCREDIBLE AND BREATHTAKING. Despite my enormus love for Lion King, this show IS A PRECIOUS GEM ON EARTH. THE LAMPS CAVE AND THE FREAKING FLYING CARPET GAVE ME LIFE.
Saw this show a couple weeks ago and it was amazing!!! SO much going on! Disney really put a lot into this one! And Jonathan Freeman was a hilarious and perfect Jafar :) the Genie will also be winning a Tony... he was brilliant!
Eliza Vitale WOOO!!!!! My brother and sister-in-law are both doctors and live in a big city. As soon as that's on tour, I am SO getting tickets! (Hey, with their income, they can afford to hook me up!)
Ahhh.... I'm gonna cry.... I can't ever see this unless my local peeps do it... or Aladdin goes on tour. Aladdin is my favorite!! And dang did they find an absolute *hott-to-the-Y* guy to play Aladdin himself.
When you just saw this show on broadway and now ur obsessed.. lol this play/musical (whatever they call it) is awesome (Btw, I got to go for free, Disney’s treat!)
I saw this show. It's amazing. The scene with flying carpet and song ,,A whole new World" was breathtaking and very magical. The intro ,,Arabian Nights" is awesone. You can feel this arabian climate. And of course costumes were incredible (my favourite are jasmine's and genie's). I recommeded this show especially for people who loves The Alladin's story. Anyway, this movie was part of my childhood ;-)
Disney used to offer this show at California adventure. .. and I loved it! to bad it was taken away... I also had the opportunity to watch the lion king and between both of them, I prefer Aladdin
Wow, it looks spectacular! I was beating myself over not knowing about this sooner. But then I found out it's in New York! Best of luck to all the performers. Looking forward to the Lion King musical coming to Melbourne! ^^
I wish I could see it.... I love this RUclips series about it and I love all the actors, directors, writers, etc. (Alan Menken you are a god) Break a leg to all the actors:)
Man i can't believe that Aladdin the Musical is taking Over The Lion King's Old Theater Home! It's not fair they need to stop bringing in New Musicals at The New Amsterdam Theatre.
I really want to see some Broadway shows like Aladdin. Too bad I don't live in NY where Broadway shows are happening. I live all the way in CA. If I have the money to travel to NY the first thing I will do is to go see a Broadway musical play.
I live in California and I can see Broadway shows. Don't need to live in New york for that. They go on Tour all the time. Check out this website www.broadway.org/tours/index/1,,
I don't even live in the USA! If I want to see a show, I have to go to somewhere in Asia that they're traveling or go to the USA since I only live on an island.
I really shouldn't have watched the Lion King trailer before the others. Now nothing else is impressing me. I mean, it looks fantastic but... The Lion King...
I JUST GOT BACK FROM SEEING THIS AND O MY FUCKING LORD THIS WAS BETTER THAN ANYTHING I HAVE EVER SEEN IN KY WHOLE LIFE I WILL BE INTERALLY SCREAMING FOREVER DMFKURBENDMRJR🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Alex Parker I agree, I thought the design of that Genie looked ridiculous. I love that this is not trying to look like the show, cause when you make people look like cartoons they look either creepy or flat. This Genie just seems to work better in my opinion.

wtf me too
My first broadway show was Mary Poppins. It played at the same theatre that plays Aladdin.
Me three
AMAING SHOW, the "Whole New World" performance was absolutely breathtaking. THERE'S A FRIGGIN FLYING CARPEY
Hi, do you know if there is anything very scary for kids in this show? My daughter is 5 and easily scared so I am just curious.
Rachel J The only thing I can think of is maybe the voice of the cave, which I believe is Booming and deep, but they do make even that funny. So I do think your 5 year old would absolutely enjoy it as well.
Rachel J i went a few days ago with my bro and sister who are 4 and 6 and they loved it. its not scary.

I loved it.
It is just me or does the musical has a heavy Bollywood influence?? I really love it!!
I don't know much about Bollywood but it does look a bit like it.
Well, the movie did have the Taj Mahal in it. It probably should have a Bollywood influence LoL

I rather see Aladdin than Lion King
Plus this is the kind of show they need to make a dvd of.
Or put it in movie theatres like Fathom Events did with Newsies

I'm about to see the show tonight, so I'm so pumped! I decided to get a sneak peak by watching this and reading the comments. SO glad the carpet flies
How was the show ??
@@armandovilla9955 It was fantastic! I'm actually about to see it again in a week. I'm so pumped!

Ok, if Hunchback of Notre Dame isn't the next Disney musical, there is no justice!!!
Lana Alexandra But....I know how the original story goes and it's sad. I'm sort of interested in how the Disney version would look on stage.
Noooo! I want a revival of Beauty and the Beast
Hunchback is next! Auditions were almost a year ago, it is in the works
Eliza Vitale WOOO!!!!! My brother and sister-in-law are both doctors and live in a big city. As soon as that's on tour, I am SO getting tickets! (Hey, with their income, they can afford to hook me up!)
Beauty and the beast has to be next

Ahhh.... I'm gonna cry.... I can't ever see this unless my local peeps do it... or Aladdin goes on tour. Aladdin is my favorite!! And dang did they find an absolute *hott-to-the-Y* guy to play Aladdin himself.

im not sure what the complaint is here, it seems like a complaint for the sake of complaining,
So they should just shut down the theater forever while The Lion King is having fun at the Minskoff ? what sense does this make?
You mean Mary Poppins? :) TLK is still here
Just saw it last Saturday it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Indeed I did Im upset though that Iglehart is moving from Aladdin to Hamilton this Spring
Zack Stark I loved him as Bobby in Memphis
Also, Iglehart is doing voice work for the new Tangled TV series on Disney Channel

Why didn't they painted the Genie completely blue like in Aladdin's Musical Spectacular? That would've made the genie even more epic!
That woulda made him look kinda stupid
Alex Parker

I'm sad it's not Lea Salonga playing Jasmine, the original singing voice in the animated movie :(
And STILL not Jafarnathan Freeman.
True.
