    Every year I spend time with the Ignatius retreat Ignatius spoke about how God is in all things, including our feelings and thoughts. When you are bogged down with life, if there are things that are unsettling and your mind is uneasy, take that prayer to God. Its helped me tremendously!

    St. Ignatius of Loyola had a very strong devotion to Our Lady. He prayed three Rosaries a day: The Joyful, Sorrowful and Glorious Mysteries. Maybe she was the inspiration behind the Spiritual Exercises after all? Maybe we should imitate this spiritual practice today?? Maybe this would help bring about the triumph of her Immaculate Heart in the world today??? He was known to be a very lustful person, like St. Augustine...his devotion to Mary had a big part to play, no doubt, in his spiritual and moral conversion and his eventual embrace of consecrated celibacy.

    In the caves at Manresa, Ignatius was closest to Jesus living in the wilderness caves of Israel for 40 days--most people do not have this kind of mystical experience through denial of all human niceties...this kind of self-denial is out of fashion--but it is an experience of Christ...dts/usa

    To think that in a century or less this would become the most prominent and powerful Catholic Order is mind-blowing, when you think he (and the rest of them, too!) could have so easily finish all up at the stake. Probably this military-sort of "infrastructure" they had and that Loyola instilled in them helped them a lot in overcoming many things.

    The parallels between Saint Ignatius and Shakyamuni Buddha are surprising. Anyone who has read both biographies will see the similarities.
    Saint Ignatius' teaching that God is in all things, is something easily recognizable by Buddhists. It's reassuring to know that people from so disparate backgrounds living at opposite ends of the planet, can come up with the same views on God and nature.

    Verses about mother Sarah.
    Proverbs 31:10-31 New International Version (NIV)
    Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character
    10 [a]A wife of noble character who can find?
    She is worth far more than rubies.
    11 Her husband has full confidence in her
    and lacks nothing of value.
    12 She brings him good, not harm,
    all the days of her life.
    13 She selects wool and flax
    and works with eager hands.
    14 She is like the merchant ships,
    bringing her food from afar.
    15 She gets up while it is still night;
    she provides food for her family
    and portions for her female servants.
    16 She considers a field and buys it;
    out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
    17 She sets about her work vigorously;
    her arms are strong for her tasks.
    18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
    and her lamp does not go out at night.
    19 In her hand she holds the distaff
    and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
    20 She opens her arms to the poor
    and extends her hands to the needy.
    21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
    for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
    22 She makes coverings for her bed;
    she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
    23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
    where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
    24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
    and supplies the merchants with sashes.
    25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
    she can laugh at the days to come.
    26 She speaks with wisdom,
    and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
    27 She watches over the affairs of her household
    and does not eat the bread of idleness.
    28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
    her husband also, and he praises her:
    29 “Many women do noble things,
    but you surpass them all.”
    30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
    but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
    31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
    and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.
    Psalm 45
    13All glorious is the princess within her chamber;
    her gown is interwoven with gold.
    14In embroidered garments she is led to the king;
    her virgin companions follow her-
    those brought to be with her.
    15Led in with joy and gladness,
    they enter the palace of the king.
    Psalm 45
    13All glorious is the princess within her chamber;
    her gown is interwoven with gold.
    14In embroidered garments she is led to the king;
    her virgin companions follow her-
    those brought to be with her.
    15Led in with joy and gladness,
    they enter the palace of the king.

      If you research him thoroughly, very, very thoroughly you will find out the the other side of his history. Please research carefully and try not to be persuaded by your belief system as you do your research! This takes much courage! You deserve to know what fuels religion! Shocking! Yes, it will piss you off. But it will set you free from the mind chains!

    You know,
    I at first didn’t like Fr. James Martin and what he stood for. He stood up for LGBT rights and I almost saw him as a wolf in sheep’s clothing and a heretic. But now I don’t. Why? Well I too am a Liberal Catholic Christian and a advocate for LGBT rights. So yes, I take sides with him. And from what I learned about him is that he recently attended the Democratic national committee and decided to support Joe Biden. Now, I know that some people who might read this might agree with me or might think of me as a heretic. But you know what? It doesn’t bother me.
