Get the heck outta here! I have been folding the edges over and struggling to hold this teeny tiny edge while folded over and then trying whatever works to sew and AARRGHH! Why wasn't this video available 45 years ago when I was learning how to sew by hand? 😂THANK YOU SEW VERY MUCH! 💖
I've struggled with hemming forever, now I have a child who needs trousers that aren't in line with any regular sizing and I'm at my wits end trying to figure out how to hem these thin fabrics. Thanks to you, looks like I can solve all our issues!
You just gave me the best Christmas gift EVER! Thank you for this clear and amazing video. I have some unfinished scarves that nerd hems and now I can finish and wear them.
incredible tutorial! you use a transparent fabric and a large and contrasting thread to make it clear what you're doing, and what the stitch looks like in three dimensions. this is really good, the sewing equivalent of folks who use eye bolts and neon paracord to teach fishing knots! my other hobby that isn't hand sewing, haha
This is so different from how i have done in the past. Thank you. I no longer dread hemming this project I am working on, a chiffon shawl. Most of it's edges are curved but I assume it should still work. The stitch you are forming reminds me of a Greek Key design. I have done a mattress stitch which looks similar as well, to invisibly attach two edges. THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!!!!
Excellent video, easy clearly demonstrated steps, I subscribed to the channel, I am an experienced seamstress but never did the hand rolled hems, this is a great reference video to return to 😊
It's better to use on a sharp corner because it'll be difficult to get a smooth & neat round corner I would think. But I haven't tried it, so you never know...give it a go!

I never knew a rolled hem could be this easy 😭😭 thank you!!
Thank you for addressing the corners too!
No problem!

Thanks so much. Hemmed a silk scarf this evening. Used my ‘bird’ to help hold it tight and it helped tremendously. Your instructions were great.

Thank you :) Yes I see the resemblance to a Greek key pattern! I hope the hems turned out well on your shawl
thank you so much! I'm working on some doll clothing and couldn't understand how everyone was getting these tiny perfect rolled hems!

:D
Merci beaucoup 👍

Awesome. Thank you.
You're welcome! :D
Thank youu this is so helpful!
You're so welcome!
This is an excellent method but could I say, it would be easier to follow on opaque fabric, especially at corners.
Will this work on a rounded corner???
It's better to use on a sharp corner because it'll be difficult to get a smooth & neat round corner I would think. But I haven't tried it, so you never know...give it a go!
Does this work for armholes?
If it's a fairly thin fabric I don't see why not :)
T you
I’ve been avoiding a project because I’d no idea how to roll the edges.
Go for it! :)
SORCERY!
