💎 I have gotten tons of requests for this video - so here it is! As you know, I am huge fan of using glue dots and putty rather than the standard pink diamond painting wax. Just that one small switch made such a difference in my level of enjoyment for diamond painting. Now I can focus on the painting, rather than getting frustrated because I needed to fill my pen repeatedly with the pink wax. So in this video, I share how I load my single placers with glue dots and my multiplacers with putty and glue lines. Let me know what you think!! 💎

Thank you, that was very comprehensive, and helpful. I’m a newbie and bought both the dots and putty, but I wasn’t having much success using them.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!!
Happy you tried the lines typically 2 work in most with excess cut off. I'm gonna try the putty i have it but haven't really tried it yet
@@mommiej206 I’m still learning how to use the lines, but they definitely saved me when the putty was temperamental this summer! Thanks for watching!!
Thank you for showing how to use glue dots. 🤟
@@horseygirl645 Thanks for watching!!
Daphne, even before this video you helped me so much with regard to glue dots. You were always willing to answer my questions in the chat even though you had probably covered them in a video somewhere. Thanks for this wonderful overview!🙏
Thank you so much for sharing this video, it was very helpful 😊
Great video.
I had wondered how to use the glue dots
U make it look so easy

Thanks so much for this review Daphne! I saved the video so I can refer to it again and again. I just love glue dots and glue lines!
@@suetapp7122 Thanks for watching!!
Thank you! The tips on cutting off any excess, dirtying up the glue dot once installed, and that glue lines existed, were all new to me. I'd tried using glue dots, but been frustrated with it not properly fitting in the pen, not releasing the diamonds, and getting pulled out by the diamonds, and kept giving up and going back to the museum putty.
I will give the glue dots another try now, as I believe those tips in particular will solve the issues I was experiencing. 🙂
@@melananighthawk Yep, a definite learning curve to using them, but I love them so much! Thanks for watching!!
Thanks for the good explenation!

Thanks for doing this video! I've been using glue dots and putty but hadn't thought of "refreshing" either of them when they aren't sticky anymore, I was just fully replacing.
@@brittanyjohnston13 Sometimes just a little refresh works, but sometimes it doesn’t. The glue dots are cheap enough I wasn’t too worried about it either way. Thanks for watching!!
Thank you for this demonstration. I purchased glue dots and tried it but felt a bit frustrated with it being too sticky even after dirtying it. After seeing this, I’m going to try it again.🥰
@@JoyceN818 They aren’t for everyone, but if you are a hard placer like me, they can be a game changer. Thanks for watching!!
I’ve used glue dots for a while now. Yesterday I switched pens and couldn’t get the glue to stay in it. It kept pulling out and it was getting me so mad lol. Turns out, you just solved my problem. That tip had wax in it at some point and that’s why it wouldn’t stay in. So, thank you!! 😊
@@cynthiar28 Oh, awesome! I always forget to mention that, so I’m glad it helped!!
I'm so glad you covered this. I have been wanting to try glue dots but had no idea how it worked. Thank you for the video 😊😊

I finally bit the bullet and bought a cateared pen with a forever tip in each end.
@@adriengilfillan Nice!
Love my glue dots thanks to you, still struggling with the lines. It looks like yours with holes in it, not smooth across the multi placer. Gonna try getting it dirtier and be patient and give it time to flatten out. 😊 love the videos. ❤
@@Jeaniefulp I’m still figuring out how to load/use the lines, so if I discover any other tips, I’ll be sure to share. Thanks for watching!!
The easiest way I found for me to load glue dots into a single placer is to put the paper with the dot on a table, place the single placer on top of the dot and make like you’re drawing a small circle over and over. If more is needed to fill it then do the same with a second dot. Hope that makes sense lol
@@dpwithtee Oh, interesting! Thanks for sharing!!
I have been using glue dots mini for both single and multi-placers for moths without any problems. Usually one dot per space on placer. If a six placer, I use six dots, etc. Just dirty them up as you say and they work wonders.
@@yzm1230 I can’t imagine diamond painting without my glue dots! Thanks for watching!!
Thank you Daphne for the video.😊

@DiamondPaintingAnonymous you are welcome 👽
Thanks s lot for a nice video. You have so calming voice to listen to and you explane so good. Have you tryed out artdots new puddy? Would be nice to know what you think about it. I have problem to find something that works for AB. I can not find gluedots in my country. I allso wonder if your single tip is more narrow or thinner than the ordinary tip from temu, I think they are so big and clumsy and I do not se the drill when I pick it up. More digficult with square. The cheap one that comes with the kit is more easy to use becouse the pick up part is so thin. Eould like a metall one you have but is not sure to buy or not.
@@veronicabacklund3931 I’ve not tried the ArtDot, but I will check it out. Thanks for sharing!!
Great video! I’m still at the ‘there’s a learning curve’ stage with the glue lines but I’ll get there! Been using dots in my single placer for a few months and like you said-game changer! Happy thanksgiving to you and your family Daphne.
@@DiamondsandDobermans Happy Thanksgiving! Glad this was helpful! Thanks for watching!!

Great video! Although I've been using Glue Dots for almost four years, I simply could not translate the process to Glue Lines. Watching your technique will surely help me. Now if only I can begin placing my dots better with my multiplacer.
@@susandoty8241 I wasn’t sure about the glue lines either, so it was a little trial and error with them. The putty is definitely easier to deal with than the glue lines, but the lines last longer. Thanks for watching!!
Thank you. I had tried the glue dots in my single and it kept coming out. I had no idea it was because I had previously used the wax in the same pen. I'll try it on an un-used pen.
@@Seasbestormy I always forget about that issue, because I don’t use the pink wax anymore. Thanks for watching!!
Nice video 😊 I found my forever putty on Amazon.
@@leeanntheriault9723 Nice! Thanks for watching!!
I have some glue dots but I only tried it once. Im going to give it another try. I already use putty and i love it as well. Great video!
Hope it was helpful! Thanks for watching!!
@DiamondPaintingAnonymous it definitely was helpful. I cant wait to try it again!
Thanks for your very informative video Daphne. I have been using glue dots for a while now but they are different to yours. I can’t remember where I purchased them but the pack has 50 sheets and there are 12 dots per sheet. The box says that they are mini dots but each dot is 3/16” (5mm) which is far too big for my Cateared tip, so usually I cut the glue dot in half with my ceramic cutter and through the plastic cover sheet. There is enough to fill 2 tips this way. The way you fill the multiplacer with the putty is also interesting. I’ll have to try it.
@@ChristinePhethean Whatever works! Once my micro dots run out, I’ll need less when I move to the mini dots. Thanks for watching!!
Great video thanks so much 😊

Do you ever “empty” your placers out during a project? Thank you for sharing you bumps in the road
@@CCruse2012 If the glue dots get too ‘dirty’ or aren’t sticking well even after a refresh, I will replace them. I have usually put new ones in at the beginning of a project, so I can generally make it through the project before I empty anything out. Thanks for watching!!
I love them but having trouble keeping them in my pen
@@amandasmith8743 If it’s a pen you’ve previously had pink wax in, you might need to clean the tip out with alcohol to get rid of any wax residue. That might be what is causing the dots to slide out.
Great tips thank you! I’m having a hard time finding the glue lines on Amazon in Canada.
@@ruthforget253 It’s so weird to discover what is and isn’t available on Amazon in Canada. I wonder if they are available from someplace like Joann’s or Michaels online?
@ I haven’t checked yet.
