My starter is on the runny side.I use 1/2 cup (60 grams ) of local, whole grain einkorn flour that I mill at home and 1/4 cup filtered water ( also 60 grams).
@@TheDuvallHomestead Thank you.I wish I could eat it, but I have celiac. My kids said it tastes great, just like an artisan sourdough bread they had în Europe.
I just started today, the 2:1 flour to water ratio seemed really dry to me. I’m using a locally (to me) grown einkorn flour. I’m assuming that if my mix is too dry (not moving at all) then it’s okay to add enough water to make it at least move a bit as you’ve shown in the video?
I went to your blog to print the sourdough recipe as instructed and there is no sourdough recipe to print! Can you tell me what I need to do, please? Thanks so much.
Yes so you want to scroll to the very bottom, where there is a “recipe card” that lists all the steps for the starter. There is a button at the top, under the title and description, that says PRINT. Let me know if that makes sense!
When you say you use all purpose flour to make bread with your einkorn sour dough starter are you talking about white flour or einkorn to make the loaf?
Can you send me a pdf of your recipe, but chance? There are so many as on the recipe it ended up being a seven page document and very hard too followed because the instructions are interrupted by ads!
@@TheDuvallHomestead I’ll give it a try, thank you! I tried the recipe that Jovial has on RUclips and my dough hasn’t done anything. It’s just like a lump of dough and it’s been over a week 😭
@@mckcustomvinyldesignllc3645 oh okay. Yes you can use fresh milled for this! You may have to adjust the water amount just slightly if it has a different consistency than my flour, but it’ll work great!
Hi, I began the process with a different brand of flour and it started to bubble after the second feeding. by Day 2 in the afternoon it was beautiful, but then on day 3 after feeding it deflated and became creamy with almost no bubbles... I kept up discarding/feeding it for 13 days, but nothing else happened, it remained creamy. :(

@@TheDuvallHomestead it inflates on day 2 and less on day 3 when it deflates then it won't rise again. I have used almost all the 5lb-flour with two different methods. Starts awesome and then, plop.
@@JoseViana-sw2li it sounds like its sitting too long without food. If you’re seeing it double in size, you should use it in a recipe and then put the rest in the fridge. Only take it out at room temp and feed it before you plan on using it.

Yes that would make sense to me too. Chunky is good, you just don’t want runny.
