I agree with you, I bought a sample of this, and I love the opening but it just turns into a sickly sweet orange creamsicle blob on my skin after a couple hours
Hi Ramsey. About two months ago, I finally discovered Hermes "Bel Ami Vetiver". I bought a bottle for a relatively great price, and it's become one of my favorite fragrances. I appreciate you recommending it. So far, Hermes "Bel Ami Vetiver", Cartier "Declaration Parfum", and Dolce & Gabbana "Velvet Incenso" were some of my favorite fragrance discoveries of 2024. The newest Amouage I've tried is "Material", which I thought was pretty good. I'll have to try the newest ones, but I probably won't have the same expectations I'd have when discovering something from the Chong era, and pre-Chong, of Amouage.
Smells like a yellow lemon cake (like the one with the glazed icing) on me I kind of like it. If the longevity is over 8-10 hours with 3 feet of projection I think it would be a winner (artistry and niche expectations aside)
I've also been off Amouage since the last collection. The direction the brand is taking also leaves me indifferent. Outland is my favorite of these. It's odd for sure but still has Cecile Zarokian's signature even though this is different for her. Her signature is so distinct that I was going through a Jovoy discovery set a week ago (I only knew La Liturgie des Heures from the house) and one of the fragrances (Private Label) immediately struck me as her work and sure enough, it is. My mind immediately went to Silver Oud. Very interesting experience!
I’m just supporting the channel by viewing this video. I remember preordering the sample set for the collection which included Guidance, paying an exorbitant shipping fee at that, and being completely unmoved by each fragrance respectively. Suffice it to say that I am not a fan of contemporary Amouage.
Couldn't agree with this review more! Went and smelt this in Harrods and few weeks back and wanted to buy it on the spot! an incredible opening that had me hooked. Thank god my partner wanted to go and look at shoes (never thought I'd say that) because in the time between first spray and her completing her purchase, Outlands had fallen flat on it's face. That beautiful opening had become a sweet, nondescript mess. It did remind me in some roundabout way of the original L'instant de Guerlain, but comparing the two would be doing Guerlain a disservice. Yet another great house that has clearly lost it's way!
Oh nice. I've been playing with this one for the last week. I find it very interesting and generally good, If not a little amorphous and confusing at times.
Spot-on. Amouage has much to learn about extending an olfactory experience into a prolonged dry-down. Material and Jubilation XXV open like lions, only to ultimately fizzle out as lambs. Fortunately they can now be found at discounters, so at least it costs less to be ultimately disappointed. Outlands sounds interesting, but it won't find.a place on my shelf at that price.
I've said this a lot recently, but I think a lot of the bigger perfumers out these days that are sold in stores are designing fragrances for the opening. They balance the frag to have a beautiful opening because they know people buying are going to spray, sit with it for 10 minutes while they walk around the store, and buy based on that initial impression. The lack of attention paid to the drydown is a symptom of consumer behavior, and it's extremely noticeable with just about everything I get my nose on that's sold in a department store or at Neimans. Few exceptions, of course, but that seems to be the direction a lot of giant brands are headed.
I have not tried this new collection, yet! What I've heard so far is not exciting tho, many believe they will never return to the past glory of when Chong was there, and sadly, might be true. Hopefully, it will not be the case, and Amouage will release some exciting perfumes, I won't give up on them, because an Amouage fragrance got me intrigued about this industry and made me curious to discover and understand more.(Interlude) Cheers, Ram!
Everything you’ve said about niche perfumery at the end is 💯 facts … It seems that the mindset has changed significantly, it’s no longer about expressing their identity through their creations but rather about finding ways to generate as much money as possible. Not only are scents increasingly losing personality, but prices have skyrocketed to the point where it feels like they’re taking us for fools 🤷♂️Unfortunately this way of operating isn’t limited to the world of perfumery…
All I can say is….. I am done with Amouage 🙄 I am glad I got decant and share with you 🖤🔥🫶🏼 But this bottles/decants I gifted to friend of mine 🙏🏼 But Ram , like always amazing and very detailed review 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I recently picked up Amouge interlude 53 full presentation for $200 from store called eDiscountPerfumes located in Texas. Amouage is new Creed. Money grab.
I think Renaud strikes me as a man of detail. Did you see Persolaise's live celebratory stream with Renaud not long back and Mr Salmon was going into the absolute minutaie of the branding on the bottle and such. A bit much and a bit tedious. What good is a stunning bottle design if what is inside does not match or surpass?
Very nice first impression of the new release by Amouage. I have tested this one as well. I love the opening. I did think the dry down was sweet until i tried it at a cooler temperature, and that's when it was the best. Maybe you should try it cooler weather as well. By the way, i saw an interview with the guy who works for Amouage, and he was explaining why they changed the bottles and packaging with the QR bar code on it that says "genuine." He said that there are many fakes being created to sell as real. So he said that they are changing designs in bottles and packaging so that it would be impossible to fake the future amouage releases.
Appreciate all your reviews and your criticism in general, which is really good to have in this free bottle age of youtube. However, I don’t agree with a few points such as your take on the bottle: how do you judge if you haven’t seen and touched it in person? I find it actually really impressive and different from anything out there, in a word it’s niche. Zarokian’s past creations is not necessarily matching Amouage past: the fragrance is meant to symbolize the house’s furure not the perfumer’s future. Also you mentioned Amouage has become a money grab, and here I don’t disagree but can you mention an established brand that is not trying to rip off customers? I cannot find any niche brands offering 50ml for significantly less than 200CHF/EUR. Can you also mention a house that is not targeting the wider audience nowadays by expanding their offer and making products more mass appealing? That said, I find outlands the more mass appealing and reasons the more niche fragrance, curious what your take will be about the three: I’ve got lustre and performance is weak, same for the whole collection: gone after 5-6 hours. Cheers
I can name you a brand like that. it's TAUER . a niche individual brand, that it's not owned by a by company, high quality niche fragrances at almost designer prices. And considering how creative, unique and well crafted some of his fragrances are, he's basically artisanal brand but at designer price. Soooo yeah...if you search more, you can find amazing quality brands that don't just want to rip off the costumer. Amouage now is following what Creed is doing. Mainstream garbage with batch variations.
I thought this was the best of the new trio, but it reminded me of Elixir des Merveilles by Hermès. However I think the Hermes is a better and longer lasting scent.
@@RamseytheRamThe elixir is the most acclaimed, and with due cause. Its marketed fem, but very unisex. Picture a bright Florida orange, that turns into a creamy amber, it may be a little sweet for your tastes, but if you can handle vintage Yves l'homme nuit type of sweetness it's more towards that. The longevity, scent, and silage of the elixir is the best of the line.
I think I may be one of the only ones here that likes the old and new stuff. Of course, I don’t like every single Amouage (new or old). I have yet to try this collection, though. I do 100% agree with you on the prices. Good review. 🤙🏻

Losing Chong was, for Amouage, like losing a big toe. After that you need to learn to walk again. During that it's normal to need a crutch cane or walker...but come on already! The first 3 Thameen London under Mr. CHONG are better than the entire sum if what Fishman was behind since CC left. *shrugs* idk. Smell swell & continue to be well, my fragrant frater! ☮
Out of the newer releases Amouage has put out.i really like King Blue and Royal tobacco But that’s it! With RT I usually just smell the atomizer. That’s my favorite part. I notice they get really ashy/smokey in the drydown. Find myself reapplying just to get the initial first spray. Gotta get my nose on these new ones. I’ll wait till they hit discounters by spring ha ha.def sampling first! Hate the refillable bottles. There will be fakes all over feebay. If the bottles are past present and future. I’m so sorry this scent goes sickly sweet on your skin. I absolutely LOVE Outlands. It might be my favorite Amouage, as it is subjective. It doesn’t go cheaply or sickly sweet on me at all and I can smell the absinthe (anise and wormwood) type smell for 10+ hours. I get other notes as well, but they are hard to pick out. However, it is a lovely scent! I almost didn’t try it after your review. Thank God I did try it. It just goes to show you that you should always test things for yourself. One person’s trash is another’s treasure. I just understand and “get” how Cecile thinks. She is a genius with scent.
Glad you love it and I appreciate you watching...I wouldn't say it's trash I really liked the first few hours ..but the dry down is amber woods central on my skin lol
I think about all the stuff i could get for $450 haha. I just got a vintage bottle of hermes eau d'orange vert for $25...never paid more than $200 for any amouages i have from the chong era (i think i paid like $120 for myths man back when everyone was talking smack about it lmao). Sad how it is now, and the sickest part is that to buy some uninspired garbage designer like le male elixir they want $150!! Its crazy
Amouage peaked at Jubilation XXV reached critical mass and now in their cashing in on past reputation phase. Nothing new. Creed cashed in after aventus MFK after BR540.
Natural vanilla is what I really like, but I don't like vanillin in perfumes. We have conditioned our brain with edibles like pastry and ice cream, which the sweetness was just to do with sugar. Any negative memory from the sugared vanillin food could triggered distaste from mere olfactive vanilla experience. If I never tasted vanillin in my life, I would probably never call it sweet.
@@chillonna There is the smell of vanillin in mother's milk, so the experience could be exploited in many unconscious judgment and decision making by exposing people to its aroma.
Not really ... there are a few I still plan on reviewing and one or two I already reviewed on the channel...if you just search Ramsey Aqua di Parma it will come up ...but not a house I am to excited about
I'm not fond of the appearance of the newest Amouage fragrances. Maybe they're better, more practical, at not falling over during an earthquake, when compared to the Chong era bottles. Also, I too don't like the major price increases by Amouage. I might only have a sampling relationship with them from now on, i.e. in regards to their newest releases, especially if they'll be making sure their fragrances don't end up at discounters anymore.
I was thinking it just before you said it too, I have no interest in trying these after being a mega fan of Amouage in the past. That is how badly the fish stick fella has done this brand.
You answered my prayers(and gave me hope for Sunshine Man… I’ve been waiting more than a year lol). I’m actually surprised. You liked this way more than me. I tend to like sweeter and amberwood perfumes more than you. I thought you were going to completely bash Outlands. You came to the same conclusion as me though😂😂 it just gets worse the longer you wear it!!! It just becomes such a generic amberwood sweetness that just won’t go, and becomes nauseating. I’m a fan of a lot of sweet fragrances that you don’t like… idk I think I am getting sick of this amberwood sweetness bubblegum scent that all these big houses have nowadays. I’m becoming like you😂😂 I don’t mind the opening like you… but I still get the base smell right off the bat that I can’t help but notice… and it just ruins it for me. Can’t wait till you get to the other two. I’m going to guess your favorite will be Lustre… but it’s still not unique or worth the price whatsoever. I will say I had 4 different people comment on reasons on me… usually I never get comments on my perfumes, besides this guy at work that says I smell like his grandfather😂😂😂 smell on Ram!!!
It pains me to say it, but you're right about all your disputes... What a bad taste in the mouth with it seems like ALL the once good niche houses. I honestly think RUclips the internet has the biggest part to play in the downfall of the fragrance world It's now become too commercialized. Once that happens EVERYTHING becomes about the bottom line instead of the art.
@@RamseytheRamwould you consider doing a video about the Niche houses that you feel still have artistry at their core? perhaps some things like DSH, Pineward, NOAM, Fischersund, etc… you know better than I i’m sure. I have taken to Parfumo where i’ll look for a weird fragrance, look at the reviews and then look at the collections of the reviewers in order to find new and intriguing artistic scents outside of all the sweet mess being peddled now. Maybe a video about hunting down the artistry!?? that would be fun and interesting…. still waiting on that DFW area in person masterclass too……😃
It’s a safe, polished, amped up mall scent. Smooth and well behaved, very boring to me, it lasts forever and doesn’t change for the better. Ends up being a chemical mess. Leans feminine and reminds me of a fancy candle my wife will burn from time to time or something from bath and body works. Coming from Amouage and at 450usd the juice was a major let down for me.
Just to give my 2 cents on this subject. I have smelled all 3 of these new releases and even if i keep an open mind, i see nothing to like in these scents. Even if i look at their notes listing, for all 3 of them it seems like the fragrances don't even know what they're supposed to be. They pumped up a lot of synthetic amberwoods in them just to jack up the performance but the artistry and uniqueness is GONE, absolute gone. They are just your typical mainstream, semi sweet oriental fragrances with 200 notes in them. Those abstract boxes piss me off, the bottle pisses me off, the fragrances themselves are an insult to what amouage once was.... I don't want to be all negative but.. i really have nothing positive to say about what amouage is doing right now. ps: for the bottle, they would've been better off keeping the OPUS bottles with the ceramic coating but slap a metal plaque on the bottom that looks more expensive and classy... but the new design looks like hand soap bottle. Minimalist is not always a good thing, the ''dagger cap'' was a staple for the brand.
This smelled a lot like baby cat to me, especially in the opening. With some added fresh spicyness and patchouli. Was also not a fan. Amouage continues on the downward trend :(
You sound like you are pained that Amouage did not recognise you to send you some samples like other influencers . I purchased Amouage Outland few days ago and I am wearing it right now . Let me say on a contrary to what you are saying the fragrance is fire 🔥🔥🔥. It’s been 7.5 hrs I have sprayed it and the projection and compliments is endless . Amazing and brilliant work by amouage and Cécile Zarokian .
😂😂😂 Wrong on the first count in fact I don't want their samples or bottles....let the usual suspects who are on the Amouage gift list..I am more than content with getting around to something like this whenever, whether it was now or years from now You may have noticed JSP sent me a bottle....those smaller brands are usually the ones who reach out to me...I am to honest & for the big brands , they like people they can control and understand the game If any of those folks who put their videos up 2 to 4 weeks ago said what I said my guess is Amouage would cut them off for the next release They all know they have to toe the line lol
@ I hear that . However, the work put in to make the juice what it is should not be down play . A very outstanding perfume OUTLAND is . I know because I am wearing it today and it has been over 7.5 hrs . So , to hear your verdict kinda threw me . Keep up your good work and I respect what you do and opinion . But that fragrance is incredible .
The projection and longevity of the fragrance actually work against it, as the somewhat interesting opening soon gives way to chemical sadness, beating you for hours over the head with commercial mediocrity I associate with cheap body wash and deodorants. Will it get compliments? Sure, but so will a can of axe body spray.
I didn’t like it at all. Smells so much like many sweet ambery stuff already on the market. It is full of amberwood and it absolutely ruins it for me. It is way too strong and it lasts for ages. The drydown is just an aroma-chemical mess. I am not surprised it is the one out of the 3 that is the most hyped: it is right in line with the sweet beast most stuff that non expert noses like nowadays. It is just not worth the money they are asking for.
So you don't keep up with new Amouage and you expect us to take you seriously about these new fragrances? Okay. And who gives a crap where the label is? You're such a hack. Keep on plagiarizing Kafkaesque, since you have no original takes.
@@RamseytheRam You admitted it right in the opening. Oh, and Spirit of the glen was 360 for 100ml and it was discontinued, so the prices are crazy high now.
@@B.B.3573 I am not a fan of new Amouages direction...doesn't mean I don't keep up with em... I got an Amouage play list north of 40 videos long... I think I "keep up with em" more than any other reviewer on yt not sent free bottles from the house of Amouage...and 360 is cheaper than what these go for and I would take Spirt of the Glen any day over the new Amouages for 450
What I meant was that I don't waste my own money on them, I wouldn't go buy a sample set and get excited about what they release because the house has fallen off a cliff But my subscribers send me juice so I am able to keep up with them Watch some of my other videos or at least the whole video before talking ish
I agree with your assessment of what has become of the Niche world. Same ol' , same ol' (yawn) ... unrecognizable from what it was intended to be. Now? ... just another cash grab campaign. greedy and boring. less than zero creativity. I'll see things that interest me here and there but the thrill is pretty much ... gone.

Tbf I actually like Outlands as an Amouage release. Ani with more spices and frankincense is alright. The other two are truly disappointing.
It's the same as Shagya (Marly) for you - spray every hour to smell the opening again and again...

Looking professional! Yeah, Amouage has sold out
😔 times indeed
I think about all the stuff i could get for $450 haha. I just got a vintage bottle of hermes eau d'orange vert for $25...never paid more than $200 for any amouages i have from the chong era (i think i paid like $120 for myths man back when everyone was talking smack about it lmao). Sad how it is now, and the sickest part is that to buy some uninspired garbage designer like le male elixir they want $150!! Its crazy
I agree man...it's all about the Benjamin's baby...and it's gross 🤢
Amouage peaked at Jubilation XXV reached critical mass and now in their cashing in on past reputation phase. Nothing new.
Creed cashed in after aventus
MFK after BR540.
Well if BR540 was the peak dang lol
But I get what you mean
Royal Mayfair and Royal Oud have been released after Aventus and they are great but yes Creed is the dead end for a while now.
Spot on thanks for watching & commenting 🍻
did u know theres actually vanillin in mothers milk? learned that today.
and vanillin is always part of natural vanillas scent.
@@chillonna There is the smell of vanillin in mother's milk, so the experience could be exploited in many unconscious judgment and decision making by exposing people to its aroma.
Are you a fan of Loewe perfumes?
Yes I like some of there old stuff...I will do some reviews on the house on of these days...just so little time and so many fragrances lol
@ I understand. How about acqua di Parma? Are you a fan of that house?
Not really ... there are a few I still plan on reviewing and one or two I already reviewed on the channel...if you just search Ramsey Aqua di Parma it will come up ...but not a house I am to excited about
@@RamseytheRam I recently got Colonia intensa from ADP . i like it a lot.
Not the Costco lotion bottle 🤣
Yes! That 😂
I'm not fond of the appearance of the newest Amouage fragrances.
Yup i agree with everything u said there brother
Wow you look so handsome ! 🤩
🤵
What!?! No off camera box butchering? 😢
@@marcusmorgan4787 not sure what you mean by off camera but I was pretty hard on it at the end lol
Your unboxings are usually like a horror film, when you stab them open just out of frame.
Glad you let amouage have it, though. Love your reviews.
I was thinking it just before you said it too, I have no interest in trying these after being a mega fan of Amouage in the past. That is how badly the fish stick fella has done this brand.
Lol the fish stick fella 😂
I like fish sticks but not In my perfume 🤣
Man I miss Chong 🥲
We came to the same conclusions... impressive 💪🐏
Yup you are spot on Jermie...hopefully folks Like us prove there is a space for a brand to be different but these niche houses just ain't it
Absolutely 👍
it's because people are running things, who don't understand the full potential of current internet! The times caught up baby
@@RamseytheRam as in All aspects of life, You got to go backwards to go forwards. We are all going to witness that in 2025.
Wow that is actually well said.. a polished mall scent 😪😪😪
Spot on
$450 retail is way too much. The bottle doesn't look that bad.
Wayyyy to much...but that is the trend of pricing now a days unfortunately 😕
❤❤❤ wow what a beauty 🎉 i mean Ramsey himself 😅❤️❤️❤️
🫂🫂🫂
I would of put the logo on the cap some how. Who’s gonna look at the bottom. Damn the fish man
Well said man ... Amouage is finished man
For me, nothing will ever touch Jubi XXV, Epic Man or Memoir Man. This house has been complete rubbish for years now.
Agreed!
This smelled a lot like baby cat to me, especially in the opening. With some added fresh spicyness and patchouli. Was also not a fan. Amouage continues on the downward trend :(
I have never smelled baby cat but if it's like this without the interesting top it is exactly what I expected from Babycat 🐱
Nice Tfs
Tfw 🙂
Hear we go 😂
The never ending slide.....
HahHahaaaa "aged Reflection" ahaha hysterical 😂😂😂 im so so agree!!!
It's happening ....be ready lol
You sound like you are pained that Amouage did not recognise you to send you some samples like other influencers .
I purchased Amouage Outland few days ago and I am wearing it right now . Let me say on a contrary to what you are saying the fragrance is fire 🔥🔥🔥.
It’s been 7.5 hrs I have sprayed it and the projection and compliments is endless . Amazing and brilliant work by amouage and Cécile Zarokian .
😂😂😂
Wrong on the first count in fact I don't want their samples or bottles....let the usual suspects who are on the Amouage gift list..I am more than content with getting around to something like this whenever, whether it was now or years from now
You may have noticed JSP sent me a bottle....those smaller brands are usually the ones who reach out to me...I am to honest & for the big brands , they like people they can control and understand the game
If any of those folks who put their videos up 2 to 4 weeks ago said what I said my guess is Amouage would cut them off for the next release
They all know they have to toe the line lol
@ I hear that . However, the work put in to make the juice what it is should not be down play . A very outstanding perfume OUTLAND is . I know because I am wearing it today and it has been over 7.5 hrs . So , to hear your verdict kinda threw me .
Keep up your good work and I respect what you do and opinion . But that fragrance is incredible .
Bro….check yoself before you wriggity wreck yoself.
I liked the opening...but I thought Lustre was a chemical mess as I hated it from the get go lol
So you don't keep up with new Amouage and you expect us to take you seriously about these new fragrances? Okay. And who gives a crap where the label is? You're such a hack. Keep on plagiarizing Kafkaesque, since you have no original takes.
I am reviewing new Amouage fragrances... what are you talking about I don't keep up with them?! Lol
Sounds like you are the hack
@@RamseytheRam You admitted it right in the opening. Oh, and Spirit of the glen was 360 for 100ml and it was discontinued, so the prices are crazy high now.
@@B.B.3573 I am not a fan of new Amouages direction...doesn't mean I don't keep up with em... I got an Amouage play list north of 40 videos long... I think I "keep up with em" more than any other reviewer on yt not sent free bottles from the house of Amouage...and 360 is cheaper than what these go for and I would take Spirt of the Glen any day over the new Amouages for 450
@@RamseytheRam "I don't keep up with new Amouage at all...I'm completely out of the loop." Did you miss that part of the vid??
What I meant was that I don't waste my own money on them, I wouldn't go buy a sample set and get excited about what they release because the house has fallen off a cliff
But my subscribers send me juice so I am able to keep up with them
Watch some of my other videos or at least the whole video before talking ish
Why delete my comment Mr. free bottle?
What are you talking about? I didn't delete your comment... youtube might have if you used words the algorithm didn't like... Mr commenter
I agree with your assessment of what has become of the Niche world.
Same ol' , same ol' (yawn) ... unrecognizable from what it was intended to be.
Now? ... just another cash grab campaign. greedy and boring. less than zero creativity.
I'll see things that interest me here and there but the thrill is pretty much ... gone.
Yup niche is not what it used to be 5 plus years ago... the game has changed
