    This is getting a bit ridiculous now. You can’t ‘force’ ppl to participate in pride month or pride activities. If their parent doesn’t want them to do it that’s not up for debate! It’s THEIR child. They can decide whether or not they participate or not.

      True or I've noticed that they seem to be non-binary/want to be apart of the community (as in they want the label of being LGBTQ+ even if in reality they are probably not LGBTQ+). Note I'm not saying that LGBTQ+ people aren't valid but more that I wouldn't be surprised if there's some people out there who want to claim to be from the community but in reality they are not from it, just like how you're getting some people faking their disabilities.
      I'm not LGBTQ+ but it's something that I'm starting to notice in general, that some people want to be from a marginalised group (LGBTQ+, Disabled, BAME, religious/atheist etc). E.g someone might fake having a disability or someone might think because as a women they do masculine things/don't fit the gender roles and stereotypes of a woman, they must suddenly be nb or from another part of the LGBTQ+ community when before it was simply a case of you being a tomboy or masculine woman or at a push (if they are genuinely LGBTQ+) gay/bi or a transman.
      Apologies if what I've said offends anyone but yeah.

And yess there is a lot history of LGBTQ+ people and I do agree many do need to be educated because it’s getting out of hand. Am just sick of really out there LGBTQ+ people and “Allies” trying to shove it down everyone’s throat and in a way weaponising it’s. No one should be educated because you feel some type of way. I hate for you to be scared and stared at.. but so do people with disabilities or religious people with clear distiction ( Jews with their capple or hijab for muslims). Even religion is thought in high school so why are kids being forced to accept and learn about sexual orientation? To me it's open door for pedophilia. • @YGSTAN06
      @YGSTAN06 Год назад

      @joshk1418 What's the purpose of teaching kids something they aren't ready for? Their minds are fragile. If you can't understand where pedophile comes in than... I'm concerned.
      I'm sorry, why do you assume I judge? Never had this "education" yet don't care less what you do behind close doors. The issue comes in when the group forces others to see their way because they want to... it's beyond safety at this point. It is forcing people's acceptance, and what's the best way to start? With kids, of course.
      I have no problem with anyone doing something that doesn't hurt others or our society. To me, kids are our future society, and they're messing them up.
      Parents raise their kids as they want. If they choose to let their kids be exposed it .. that's fine. But many parents don't want to and their choice is taken away. It's either be at school or leave. Again... what purpose does this have for kids?

    • @YGSTAN06

    In america they shove freedom of speech and expression so far down your throat that you really aren’t free to feel anyway you want. In the Netherlands for example, one of the first countries to legalize gay marriage in the early 2000s we have a pride parade in large cities. But in schools there is no mention of pride/LGBT lifestyle chooses because it is not the teacher’s place to educate kids on sexual preference let alone drag performances. My mom is a teacher and the furthest she goes into pride related things while teacher is reading a book to say everyone’s families look different but ask your parents about why and how things work. They're always gonna focus on the small minority of loud individuals who are out of line and take things too far, just so they can paint the rest of the group as being the same. It's intentional what clips people choose to repost around the internet, because the know the clips are extreme and can be used to demean the whole. And it happens with all types of groups that are in the minority. That's why you always see racist people reposting videos of black people fighting in public or shoplifting, making nasty comments. It's intentional to paint the picture that "well this is what all black people do". Or when there's an immigrant who commits a crime, that's the story all the news sites choose to run with for days on end to paint the narrative that "immigrants are coming here to hurt you". The same with this video, "this is what all queer people do". Nah. The majority of queer people understand that pride is just to show our resilience as a community that has had to fight to survive, and continues to have to fight to survive. It is directly connected to our identity. And that's why this teacher is freaking out, because people who try to shut down talks about pride month & demonize it are the same people trying to shut out queer people as being able to even publicly exist.

Growing up in Trinidad, which is a melting pot but unlike America, it is much smaller and has wayy more cultural mixes. We have public holidays for everybody groups, religious or ethnic celebrations, and the day before or after for school/work, is a day where everyone gets together and either wears traditional wear/or there is an event or food of that culture is shared in etc etc. I used to go to church with my Hindu friends and light Dias with them for Divali. I think the US can and should encourage more of that type of intermingling, it might help some of the racial and cultural tension, BUT I do agree no one should be forced and this outrage seems misplaced.

    I agree with the opinions you and the two guys in the video brought up, however I will say this...I'm really annoyed at the fact people who bring up the "sensitive" sides of the lgbtq community just to awaken a ton of homophobes , raging in the comment section demonizing and calling us different names is just completely messed up (especially during pride month). Many people need to realize that there is always a "dark side" or "weak link" in a community that can damage the entire community's reputation. Not all people part of the LGBTQ community (including myself) push people to celebrate pride or call any person a homophobe for simply not wanting to be a cheerleader for us, we simply just want to live, and I'm sure I can speak for the majority of us in the community. If I were to be working as a teacher as a gay man, my job would be to teach you basic life skills as a child, the difference between they're, their, and there, one plus one, two times two, etc.I would not be there to give you a full on lecture about pride because that's not my job.
    When I mentioned there always being a dark side or weak link, an example could be Muslims, many people (including myself again) see Islam as a peaceful religion that doesn't pratice nor preech hate speech towards any community let alone a person. Now people have brought up the fact Muslims are the people to blame for 9/11 and the fact that they kill people of the lgbtq community in their countries. Now am I going to let those actions define a whole group of people including those that have done no harm to anyone?, of course not because I've met and had great friends that were muslims and never would I put them on the naughty list for actions a portion of them have done.
    Lastly what I want to say is that there is lgbtq history that can definently be learned in class to educate students because the community has also came a long way to earn their rights and live happily as human beings just like how Black people and other people of color have came a long way as well, however, there is still discrimination all communties are facing in this generation of ours. I can say that when I was in high school, there was always support given to the lgbtq community on their own days, however, nobody was forced to wear something to express their allyship or support to them, it's only if you wanted to show that you are an ally or a member of the community to let other members know that they are not alone and are all in this together. I knew some teachers and students who expressed their support and knew some who didn't which is ok because at the end of the day, I couldn't care less whether or not they support their lgbtq students.

    Lmfao at the fact that they had to intentionally misrepresent what the teacher said to grift to their homophobic fanbase. I’m sorry but the reason so many people are against puberty blockers and hormones for teens is the misconception that they’re easy to obtain, trans teens are not given puberty blockers and hormones just because they say “I’m trans”. It’s an extensive medical process to be given hormones & puberty blockers. I do think puberty blockers & hormones are acceptable because yes unlike what you’ve probably heard they are reversible & if they give these teens a chance to live a happier life into adulthood, I think that’s worth it. I personally would prefer to have a happy trans child that’s alive than a depressed child who killed themselves because of not receiving the proper care. Gender reassignment surgery and other gender affirming surgeries can literally be decided when they’re 18+ which is literally what is happening.
