Ally Smith Nina Barbour was quoted as saying that a lot of people had been put off because of last years fire, even though that was nothing to do with the Arena, it was sad to see it though..
Ally Smith The multi storey car park right next door to the Arena was on fire, the horses were all in stables in the basement of the car park, it was an old car caught fire I think and the whole let went up, everyone who had a car on there lost it....they’ve just started to demolish it now,a year on, and they’re having to remove each individual car with a crane type grabber..All the horses were led away, people in the area offered to stable them...some even went to Aintree race course...and of course the show was scrapped as everyone had to be evacuated ☹️
Thank you so much for uploading. I live in New Zealand so can't get to see him live. I am awestruck at the elasticity, power, suppleness and expression of this amazing horse. One in millions. What an incredible journey this partnership have been on.
Liz Steeds He is so beautiful...even in Retirement he can still turn on the magic. I’ll be going to Bolesworth in June, Your Horse Live In November and Olympia in December, Charlotte will be riding at all 3, but not on Valegro , so there will be more videos to come 💕🐴
Liz Steeds no video from Bolesworth, it was cancelled to the public as it was so wet..everyone got their ticket money back. Charlotte is taking Valegro to Your Horse alive again this year, so I’ll have my camera ready 💕
Havanna Rose Yes we all know he was born in Holland. They could brag about it if they had not rejected him, had him gelded and sold him off. As it is, we do Holland a favor by not mentioning it at all. And we do that because 1. everyone makes mistakes and 2. they DID produce him. Luckily Carl found him and the rest is a fabulous story.
Julie Enslow It’s fate isn’t it...what an absolute joy that Carl saw something in him and bought him...he was always going to be good, but the combination of Carl and Charlotte working with him turned him into a genius,or as Carl says “The Professor “...🐴🐴
@lynda miller You can call it fate, and I cant argue. I like to think an angel helped make that happen. And give Carl full credit here: he recognized and found Valegro, and bought and protected him. He also recognized and found Charlotte. She was a good rider, but nothing compared to what she is now. He trained them both - and she by extension was taught to train as well. Now they have a powerhouse of a stable, with Valegro the resident dressage emeritus if you will, and a good crop of young up and comers and some just coming into their full abilities. Entertainment for years to come, thank you God!
He has always loved what he does. Since he is not in competition, they are obviously allowing him to do what he wants - so he is eating more, and he still gets occasionally to come out and meet the public, and show off his skills. But clearly - he has not eaten too much as he still can do it. But Carl called him "an old man" - I thought he was about 15?
Thank you Lynda miller. That's not really old though, he's still capable. Considering his breed can make 30 with good care - and some past that - i'm thinking he's good for a long time yet. And well deserving of being spoiled.
Julie, dressage is highly straining on their joints. Charlotte said she retired him because he owed her nothing more. If you listen to Carl he also says why x
I wonder if we started a petition to get him officially recognised...the first horse to be Knighted “Arise Sir Valegro”..I think it would be very fitting as he is,I think ,the most famous and loved horse of our generation.
Susan S I wonder how you would go about testing the water with something like this, who you could write to, i might have to get my “thinking cap on” as they say !
@@lyndamiller2623 I wish I knew where to start. To be honest, I'd have thought it would have been done soon after Rio and his retirement, if it was possible. I'll look into it also, as watching at Liverpool was so inspiring, I believe he deserves more than a statue.
Ella Johns He is retired, but they always said they would bring him out whenever possible to do short “demos”...which is what this was..and he is still the best..
@@lyndamiller2623 I'm a little concerned as to if this is such a great idea considering the movements here take a lot of muscle conditioning, and since he's been retired from training and competing, he could get himself hurt performing movements he's not conditioned for...but I know Charlotte is a fantastic rider and trainer and knows what she's doing so hopefully they're doing something to prevent this from happening. I don't know if they're still exercising him a lot though, I hope they are if they're going to be doing these demos
Ella Johns Hi Ella, they are still exercising him, Carl does say that whilst Charlotte is riding round...don’t worry, there is no way they would let anything happen to him,or over work him..and as you can see, he is loving every minute of it...except for the blue paint 😀
@@lyndamiller2623 i am very glad to hear that. Carl is one of my favourite trainers and I had a feeling he'd have it figured out. Blueberry is getting a little chubby though, he looks like he's with foal 😅
What an absolute privilege to see a demonstration by Valegro at 18! However whoever okayed the flashing advertisement around the arena should be shot. Luckily Valegro is such a pro and didn't spook but how horrible and distracting for the audience as well as for other horses as well as for us viewers.
I know, they were mind boggling those hoardings, like Blackpool illuminations...Valegro will be at Your Horse Live in November, so I should have more film of him...❤️
Nobody moves like Charlotte and Valegro together! It’s so clear how much he LOVES performing! So lovely to see him again, thanks for the upload!
Ally Smith It was my absolute pleasure to be there x
I was surprised there were empty seats!

Still AMAZING!!! Always a treat to see Valegro and Charlotte!!!
Madison A sadly not this year, no events at all to go to...☹️
Still my favourite dressage duo ever, they're so in tune with eachother, it's beautiful
jytte loos Gives me goosebumps every time I watch it 💕🐴
Soooo beautiful and amazingly talented 🐎🏇😍
This horse always brings me to tears, he’s the only one in the entire dressage world that has ever done that to me lol
Hanna Bostic He does that to me to Hanna, over and over again 🙂
@@lyndamiller2623 He sure does that to me as well!
The way he comes alive when he comes into the arena, reminds me of a Big Red race horse named Secretariat! They knew/know when they are on!
Elizabeth Coombe I know, I absolutely love him...talk about a Superstar...🐴
Add Zenyatta and American Pharoah to that list. All horses that enjoyed human interaction and accolades.
Thank you for sharing!
Rachel Masen He was very happy Rachel last night, he loved the audience and being able to dance..💕

WOW beautiful horse!
spook show He truly is ...
Amazing little horse 🐴❤️
He’s not so little - over 16 hands, I think, and very substantial build, powerful muscling.
thanks for uploading !
Ahh such a beautiful horse and rider. Love that he's a little fat and happy in retirement. He deserves it :)
Not a dressage model but wauv that horse make dressage so easy 😊😊❤️❤️
