Hopefully, moving it more farther away from a fan-game and into the "inspired by" territory which is the goal for me! So far, the playtesters have seemed to enjoy how it differs from GD, and I've been working through a cycle of getting player feedback, updating, and revising based on comments. The main amount of my time has been put into my personal editor for main levels (no online sadly). Maybe sometime down the road I will ask you for feedback on it!

Yoooo can't believe that my fan game is here! :D Incredible video! I've made RetroFunk when I was 15 years old and, yeah, gameplay-wise it sucks lmao. There was a lot of experimentation, and I've learned a ton of stuff because of it (including what NOT to do when doing level design lol), and despite its insane amount of flaws, I'm proud of what I was able to achieve at that time! A quick thing, "The RetroFunk Project" wasn't really a fan game, but a Geometry Dash "client" made from the ground up that extended the capabilities of the original (adding 3D n' stuff), requiring you to already have a copy of the game and its assets. But yeah, as time went on, I quickly realized that it wasn't a good idea and it'll probably take a LOOOOONG time to finish when I could be doing something else. Still, I'm so happy that the flashy fan game that I've made a long time ago is still being remembered by so many people :')
Ah thanks for the clarification on the retrofunk project. Anyways the game is really good for 15 omg, with some more polish it could have been something awesome. Go watch some notitg modcharts and you'll see what I mean

I know we probably won't see a form of remaster for a *very* long time. . .but honestly I'd love to see more done with this (I mean, it might just be my bias for funny flashy lights n' stuff, but I see a great potential in this that at the very least needs to be looked over again).
Maybe in the future. But I'd still love to see you make something brand new instead of a game that's obviously just "Geometry Dash but with more stuff"
i loved fangames so much, me and my brother actually made my own lol. i coded the menus in scratch, and the levels were made in gd, then i edited them together.
An idea i had: your videos take time to make so there is often a big time gap between them, but people seems to really enjoy listening to your opinion so maybe you could do a serie named :'how to do good gd levels' where you test level requested by your community then you analyse and critisize them. I know almost nothing about video making but it seems to me that it would be relatively short to make thus reducing the time gap between videos. Love your videos btw and have a great day!

Anyways maybe you could check some of these out and give your thoughts on those as well. Would be pretty interesting I think
Btw, kinda sad that most of the footage and fangames are now lost media, it would be awesome to make a whole playthrough of all the fangames from the first one to the last one :(

im the guy who made decode for famidash, that footage its from the old version i didnt like the first level specially how stupidly nerfed the Decode Wave™ so i redid all bg colors, block deco and buffed the seond coin because why not, also you should check out geometry dash advance and wiidash/gdwii by alefunky they are the most accurate recreations you could possibly get for the hardware, I hope you cover some of the demakes more deeply in a future video

I also archived some of his obscure games btw, if anyone is interested, i could probably make a playthrough videos on some of the games
