I had a crazy traumatic childhood and rough early adulthood but Ive never once considered hurting another human. I think people are born this way.
Me too... aftwr all that I even have an unusual love for animals and general feeling of wanting to protect the weak... this case with Aiden and his behaviour is not a result of childhood trauma, poverty, abuse or neglect. I also do believe its genetic. Aiden was born with this capacity combined with the fact that at a young age he did drugs on top of that... really accelerated his negative mental condition. There are tons of cases where youth and drugs result in suicide...but like the doctor says... its very peculiar and unique that it results in such a brutal level of bizarre and evil act of merciless long lasting and close range murder. Its not impulsive... he thrives in it. He used his hands during the process... repeatedly. 114 stabs + the act of overpowering his victim during the attack until his desire was fulfilled.
Same I even watched real gore videos at like 12.. if anything the abuse I suffered gave me extreme empathy for others that I could never hurt an innocent person much less kill...

It’s strange that his girlfriend was afraid he stay at her home after he said he can kill her in her sleep, but didn’t take him seriously when he said he is going to kill someone this month. Was she waiting first to see if he really acts on his threats then decide whether or not to believe him?
I am not saying she is to blame, I just hope teenagers and young adults take this kind of threats seriously and tell someone responsible.

Your point is valid. I would just challenge that by adding she is a victim as well. She was in an abusive relationship. I would bet she feared her life as well and might have been frightened of the consequences of saying something. Sometimes what seems simple to an outside perspective has more complexity and angles. Girlfriend is a domestic abused victim.
I’m with fluffball. I can easily imagine a scenario where his girlfriend takes his fantasies and threats EXTREMELY seriously, advises a responsible adult - and when Aiden is confronted about his statements, he claims he was kidding or denies saying it at all. He hasn’t done anything yet - so there’s no proof he ever would have killed - and faces no consequences. But even if punished, he’ll have been in public again - with one difference: Aiden then has a score to settle with the girlfriend. So guess who becomes his prime target?

What were they going to do. No one intervene s until a murder occurs. You can call authorities but what would they do?
I’m a self-contained special education teacher and I also have a caseload of students receiving special education services. I’ve had several students on my caseload that have been written up over 20 times in a year and have been placed in an alternative school until they are “deemed” to return, and none of them have stabbed someone 114 times without remorse. This shows he knew exactly what he was doing.

I’m a former ESE teacher. I agree. In my opinion, I 😢think that OD or Conduct Disorders should be placed in ABA intensive treatment or some other specialized education programs. It is the other students with special needs that suffer and don’t get the attention they need.

classified as SLD: Specific Learning Deficiencies aka a neurobiological condition that causes learning difficulty
behavioral/conduct issues: good behavior in 3rd grade, 4th-grade behavioral issues show up and worsen as years go on
violent behavior didn't show up until 2019 and only had 2 violent issues (which is low)
into gore and horror (antisocial) and talking about death and killing specific people including his girlfriend (putting a knife at her throat)
talked about how easy it would be at night to kill his best friend at a sleepover (so he was no longer allowed to sleep over)
told his girlfriend he would be killing someone that same month (the month he killed Tristan Bailey)
had a plan for how he was going to find someone walking at night, drag them into the woods, kill them, and then pretend like he didn't do it so he could "keep on killing people"
This is a violent sociopath...which is why he has violent fantasies...and pretends to kill his girlfriend and best friend.
People think psychopaths are serial killers but it's almost always the sociopaths, and it's their parents who turn them into sociopaths, usually when the child is young (before kindergarten), and it's the emotional abuse and emotional neglect that usually does it.
The spree murderers and mass murderers are also created by their parents, but they're malignant narcissists, which is a sociopath, but who is high in narcissistic, sadistic, and paranoid traits.

Some parents have done ALL THEY KNOW TO DO and then some. They have sought mental health professions and searched the world over for resources qualified to help their troubled teen only to hit wall after wall! Not familiar with this case or what his parents did/did not do or what his environment or childhood was like, but I know all too well that sometimes parents canNOT get the assistance - from professionals or even law enforcement ~ to help them with a situation with a child where they feel like they have totally exhausted ALL avenues of help for their troubled child that is available to parents! Sorry! I just get a little defensive of those who have never dealt with a “troubled child” judging ALL parents of troubled teens/children in some of their comments. Until we walk a mile in someone else’s shoes we can NOT even begin to imagine the hell some parents in this type situation have lived with or lived thru or are living in and do not know where else to seek help for their child! Please be slow to judge and blame ALL parents w a troubled children without fully knowing their individual situations. This case is so horrific I canNOT believe prosecutors did not seek the death penalty! I assume that was due to Florida law; or laws in US wrt minors! My heart bleeds for this girl’s family! There is NO pain = to that of loosing a child for any reason, but to have a child’s life cut short by such a BEYOND heinous act from a motive from what little I have read thus far seems to be bc this demon-possessed child wanted to know what it felt like to kill someone is beyond my comprehension of pain! I had a feeling when I first saw this case that we would get to see what a serial killer looks like in his youth and this confirmed that for me. I think we were lucky he started so young when he was too naive and full of youthful ego to cover his tracks properly. Devastating for Tristan but I'm glad he was stopped at one.
My thoughts exactly. He would have killed again and again for pleasure. All lives - human and animal - are safer with him removed from society.

This Psychiatrist is excellent. His testimony would definitely chinch a guilty verdict in my opinion. He is spot on! I can't imagine even living in the same household with him. In my opinion, the family members are lucky to be alive.

Imagine being a parent knowing you gave birth and raised someone with the brain capable of doing this. Especially at 14 years old, he had yet to experience any life.

The story was that the guy had satanic posters in his room and some said his mother was of the same mindset.

I am fairly certain that part of what makes a child capable of committing such a horrifying act IS the parent's influence or lack thereof in their day-to-day life. His parents did something to create this monster, whether knowingly or unknowingly, I promise you that his parents can be classified as "bad parents". Just how bad, may never be revealed, but I promise they were not responsible parents and that's not an excuse for his crime, but kids with responsible, involved parents do not turn into monsters.
When they were showing all of the pictures of what was once his home and his bedroom earlier in the case, I couldn't help but wonder how he felt knowing that he would never go home again. Never see his room or the inside of a school or anything other than a little cell surrounded by other criminals. I hope it really hurts.

Childhood trauma is an excellent predictor of how someone is going to turn out. Parents are doing a miserable job of parenting.

Not really. A lot of folks overcome childhood trauma to lead normal meaningful lives. It can only predict possible psychiatric outcomes and then not with 100% confidence.
Not all parents. I'm neighbors with a family that have 2 daughters, one 11 and one 13. I never seen 2 nicer young kids. I'm 75 and they come over everyday after school to see how I'm doing and always ask if I need any help with cleaning. They've helped me many times with cleaning inside and outside. If they're going shopping with their mom they run over and ask if I need anything. Their parents are just wonderful people. They get excellent grades and participate in many activities at school and church. They never leave without telling me they love me and give me a hug. I'm blessed, and yes I love them back.

The world is screwed. Kids getting fed on the Internet loads of nonsense, violence, sex , drugs etc... I fear for the next generation 😢 Parents need to step up and love and protect their children's minds, with their lives !!

I've heard the Florida youth program is actually a lot worse than the adult prison. There's a RUclipsr Christina Randall who was in the yo program and then transitioned into adult and said it was absolute insanity in the youth side.
His first day at prison, stand there naked, spread them, and cough. So gets a good lesson in humiliation.

This psychologist is really good, his voice is so calming. None of us have been with Aiden his whole life so i am in no position to assume what hes been through, but from what this guy has said and watching the way he interacted with his parents, i think this is a nurture issue. He seemed very off put by the presence of his dad and fearful almost and his mom seems like shes ready to be rid of him or something. I also dont think there is much affection either, there is no comfort in the room when they are speaking with him. His soul is cold and seems to be filled with malice and he deserves to sit in a cold cell and think about the evil act he chose to play his fate with.
Regardless of why he is the way he is, he’s a killer.
I’m sure his parents are sick of dealing with his crap. He didn’t just start acting like this. He’s probably been this way since way young.

I think there is always a nature component, but the nurture component can cancel or exacerbate the nature component. I would like to know at what age he started watching gory horror movies and if there were any other weird part of his upbringing that would have numbed his response to a bloody injury or caused him some bizarre fascination with it. Lots of folks enjoy those slasher films because they are complete fiction, but this kid would have ended up making his own snuff films eventually. At least he was caught early when only one very precious life was taken.

I think the doctor was saying that relative to the home situations of most juvenile offenders Aiden had a “relatively” decent upbringing. Hard to believe with that mother though.

Aiden's dad has done prison time for several offensives. Don't make him out to be a normal dad. He was arrested for child abuse many years ago.

Since this kid had an IEP, why wasn’t he referred for psychological and academic testing, WISC-R and WRAT tests, during his IEP review process?
My state demanded it before IEP could take place. Two year waiting list. The principle didn’t believe me and demanded to speak with the hospital. Ran into her post retirement and she said you were right about a lot of things.
They'd rather kick students out than deal with them/ help them....Zero tolerence policies at their best.

This is a very thorough and I think a pretty solid review of documents and evidence. Interesting how special education designations differ state to state.
This doctor is an extraordinary witness; he’s calm, deliberate, and most importantly, he does an incredible job of explaining the psychology involved in this case in a way that everyone can understand. (And to lighten this up a bit; he’s hot as a firecracker! But I do like smart men!)

His performance at the police station after he was caught was ridiculous and manipulative. One teacher calls him a punk. This kid told friends exactly what he wanted to do, kill someone to see what it's like. So, now he knows and will more than likely never get out of prison. It's a shame that no one thought to say something about his plans, maybe it would have spared poor Trystins life. The amount of defensive stab wounds the girl had, my God, she fought for her life. This kid was raging inside, and although he showed signs of planning extreme violence by expressing it verbally, yet again, they thought he was fooling around. After listening to the psychiatrists evaluation, I think this could have been prevented. Tragedy for both families

From a psychological perspective, this is not an unusual act. In fact, she just showed raw maternal instinct at that moment. She thought of nothing but protecting her child. OBVIOUSLY it was completely wrong, but it isn't an out of the ordinary act. The vast majority of cases of evidence tampering is committed by a loved one in an effort to protect.
I agree with @Mima D. She was impulsive and panicked, fearing the consequences of what he did. I'm not sure what I would have done in that situation. Out of unconditional love alone, my first instinct is to protect. Agree, impulsively, she didn't do the right thing, but who are we to judge?

Some abuse happens in public & people condone it. Some people are born with mental health issues are that not obvious to parents who have no education in the field.

The psychologist provided excellent analysis.....both he and the prosecuting attorney were well-prepared and well-spoken.

There is no explanation for this. This also shows how much he has not been taught the value of the sanctity of life. To him, it was all just a lot of moves. But, he knew he had to deny what he had done. However, he didn't really put effort into it for a long time. As if he didn't want to be free. Single-minded, no fear, just existing, functioning, indifferent. And, as the expert tells us what his behavior is like inside, we know that he invariably shuts out all emotions and continues to behave abnormally.
Everyone is driven by something, from within, that they have learned, which is reason, emotion, and a mixture of the two, but we don't see that here, because it doesn't exist. If he was really touched by what is happening to him, against him, then we would see a worried expression on his face, but we don't see that here, because he doesn't have it in him either, but the reason for this is that he was never taught to do that. A lost soul found by demons and brought here. Everything has a cause and effect. It's strange to us because what he does is far from us, even though we know this behavior, although we don't use it. What drives a human soul to do evil, is a dimension known only to those who have already entered it. The conscience, the fear of doing wrong, the fear of prison, the loss of our freedom, and the known, learned moral consciousness, the deliberate will and striving for goodness, the sure awareness of this, the reassuring and protective boundaries of common sense, these are all within us are.
Somewhere this child is lost, for whom the parents are responsible, no matter what the child did! The child is the hand that committed the crime, but its parents are the cause, because they were brought up in a negligent manner. I didn't walk the streets at night because my parents looked after me! Education is by far the biggest responsibility that ever exists in this world! It never expires if you cause damage, make an omission, do it negligently!

I noticed that he seems to always pick people that he considers "weaker" than himself to be abusive to. There will come a day where he will be the weaker one. This kid is why my kids were put into karate for years & learned to be on the defensive & my brothers also taught them things to protect themselves from this kind of attack. Then I also got out of big cities.

This psychologist is exceptional. His background, knowledge, experience dealing with normal and violent juveniles is superb. He is an excellent, eloquent professional witness. He is 100% presenting unbiased statistics, accurate factual documented information about Fucci’s educational background and performance in elementary and secondary school. His calm, precise, deliberate, paced manner of speaking is very easy to follow and understand. He is a very effective witness who we deem as expert, highly informed and credible. The prosecuting attorney is sharp, quick witted, relaxed, experienced and knowledgeable about this case. She allows this witness to describe the essence of Fucci by guiding his testimony, not interfering with it, allowing him to fully cover every point he is making. He speaks very simply to the lay audience so he is easily understood. It’s a pleasure to hear the attorney and the psychologist reveal the facts and the meaning behind Fucci’s behaviour and actions. It’s as though they are both engaged in a slow, beautifully choreographed waltz and is a beautiful sight to behold. Excellent job by both professionals. I bet she thought she died and went to heaven having to question this witness. Cross doesn’t stand a chance dismantling his testimony. Good for Team Bailey!

Even though the violent act is over with and has been for years the torture a parent would have thinking about the horrific experience their loved one had to endure…. My condolences and prayers for the family and friends of Tristyn. May this situation bring more awareness to communities especially when it comes to mental health, kids to be encouraged to be more open with school counselors about abuses that may be happening in the home, social media usage, and to encourage their kids not to hang out with anyone of their parents haven’t assessed that person or given approval. In Tristyn’s case, she was too young and innocent to know for herself what she was getting into when she made the decision to leave that late night with him- I’m not placing blame on her parents by saying that.

No 💩 every criminal has psychological issues but guess what... most people do too! I guarantee you my life has been wayyy more screwed up than this kid and I'd never do something like that to someone even though I can think of a few who deserved it. I'm just so tired of people who do this horrible things using mental health and a crappy childhood as an excuse or justification. I had a crappy childhood and I'm currently having a crappy adulthood and never once did I think to stab somebody over 100 times! I'm talking abuse of all kinds, trauma, neglect from family, friends, peers, teachers, adults, kids and complete strangers. This kid knew what he was doing! He mocked the girl from the patrol car. His mother tampered with evidence. He pretended to be insane in prison on coincidentally on camera and that happened to be the only time he experienced a "break from reality" and he dropped the act immediately after mental health professionals pointed out the linkelyhood of his symptoms being genuine since he had never in his life experienced anything remotely similar before. Having unusual fantasies about killing people is exactly why he is guilty, because he planned to do this instead of seeking help. He also planned to get away with it. He is trash.

I have a friend who had a horribly sexually & physically abusive childhood by her father and strangers he allowed to use her and she didn’t grow up to be evil & abusive - she volunteered at homeless shelters and volunteered for AIDS patients… unless it is truly a mental disorder, it’s a choice!

This is true. If your child needs extra support due to disabilities or development delays, elementary school is the easiest and most important time to provide that support.

I am still get to be convinced on a child being placed into a special education class , based on the teachers assessment and recommendations alone. Why? Because teachers have different teaching styles that may or not work for all students, particularly in larger group settings.
It was based on testing and grades, as well. More so than teachers’ opinions.
Psychopaths are born that way but you can't label them when they are very young, even though you may strongly suspect it. They gain strength, experience, cunning and technique as they age. Behavioural problems of various degrees are always evident early on and they can be very bright, even charming.

Now days half the student class is in SE classes, so it doesn't carry the stigma it once did.
I was a volunteer in an elementary school. I walked past a class of special education students; the door was open. A boy spilled milk on the table. A woman in the room screamed, “You’re not a student! I won’t call you a student because you’re not a student! You’re a punk! You’re a punk! You’re a punk!” If that’s what she says when the door is open, what does she say when the door is closed?

14 years old, and already a fantasy driven killer. I have never watching gore and I don't will, but this case is a true horror.
I was homicidal at that age. My father would hit me for no reason every single day from the age of 6. I don't remember him being abusive when I was 4 but I remember having terrible anxiety at age 4. turns out I was an autistic emotionally overwhelmed child with an abusive father and an emotionally neglectful mother. My parents never let me do any of the things that Fucci's parents allowed him to do. That, some kind adults and my above-average IQ are probably why I'm not in prison. My EQ is very low. I fear being around people because I worry they will do something to me and I will flip on and kill them. None of my episodes are planned. They happen on impulse. I've been threatened with arrest by the police but these days I stay home and away from people.

I’m curious to know whether in these kind of cases, where no remorse or compassion from the perpetrator, there are brain scans conducted to see whether there’s something ‘lacking’, damage to certain areas or tumours etc that may be ‘reason’ for individuals to behave in such away. I’m not looking for excuses, I’m looking for any form of correlation that may help identify potential perpetrators in the future. For instance, if a baby has been shaken and suffered brain damage, or there’s been a severe concussion or undiagnosed TIA (mini-stroke) at some point during childhood would that predispose the person to such horrific crime? So a physiological episode as opposed to psychological make up.? 🤔 🧐
Not sure about "shaken baby" or a child dropped in infancy, etc if that would predispose a child to have psychopathic behavior later on, but I am certain that psychopaths DO have structurally different brains on MRIs in comparison with normal individuals. Many studies have been done that prove this fact.

Traumatic brain injury does change personality. But to become a sociopath or psychopath it is because your early childhood caregivers did not teach the personality traits we are all supposed to be taught. As they don't know them, themselves.

I get that we can’t just go and scan kids brains to see if they are predisposed but maybe with enough substantial evidence through research some other identifying features can be found that would warrant a scan on those individuals that would be funded by government… proactive rather than reactive, much less trauma for all and much less cost to taxpayers in long run.

I've always said parents should monitor what your children watch... TV shows, movies, video games, music videos etc. Negativity feeds the imagination in a negative way. Children especially, are very impressionable.

I am confused. I too have watched real "gore" videos and images. For example images of Dahmer's victims and videos with cartel executions. But i despise them. I did search for them on my own and without anyone pushing me to do it, but out of curiosity and not to get satisfaction or to invoke any fantasy of mine. I have done that probably 3-4 times the last 30 years, and i am pretty certain that i never revisited any of the material once i saw it. My reaction was a "wtf??!" reaction and not a "wow!this looks awesome" reaction. I despise violence against living beings, especially against a fellow human, but for some reason it interests me. I remember reading about the German cannibal Armin something, and trying to find all material on the case, documentaries etc. So i do have a kind of fixation with extreme crime.
I am worried about myself. Everyone says that people who voluntarily search for real gory images need help. But i would only stab a person under extreme circumstances like seeing my mom getting attacked. I would also need to find a knife since i never carry anything pointy other than my keys. I also listen to death metal but i never pay attention to the lyrics. I like the energy of the music, not the silly gory lyrics. Gosh!!! Most people would think that i am a psychopath hiding my true colors..This kid Aidan on the other hand, his actions once inside the prison, show his true colors. The guy will probably murder inmates too. May the family of the victim find their peace somehow. As for Aidan, i am not sure prison is exactly a punishment for him. He will probably thrive in that environment and become even sicker and even more dangerous.

You and I are on the same boat in regards to entertainment. I love Death Metal and horrific material but not because I think it’s a good thing. It’s clearly a negative thing but I enjoy it because of the thrill, much like riding a rollercoaster. Rollercoasters are supposed to be scary and unpleasant for people to enjoy them. So stuff like that has it’s place but there’s a line, and when you cross that line, you enter dangerous territory.

That implies abnormal brain development in the prefrontal cortex. Think of a bear - an apex predator - which has a similar sloping head - and also lack compassion and remorse. It would be interesting to examine some of Aiden’s brain scans to see what might be going on up there. Something is certainly missing.

This case with Aiden and his behaviour is not a result of childhood trauma, poverty, abuse or neglect. I do believe its genetic. Aiden was born with this capacity combined with the fact that at a young age he did drugs on top of that... really accelerated his negative mental condition. There are tons of cases where youth and drugs result in suicide...but like the doctor says... its very peculiar and unique that it results in such a brutal level of bizarre and evil act of merciless long lasting and close range murder. Its not impulsive... he thrives in it. He used his hands during the process... repeatedly. 114 stabs + the act of overpowering his victim during the attack until his desire was fulfilled.
This guy cares, hes fantastic, thorough, professional & precise
Such a sad story for all involved. He's probably not going to live long in prison
