      Great video! my eyes do open during the night 😔 what nightime ointment do you recommend? also, I just started Systane Complete PF, for during the day, is this better than Systane Hydration PF? I'm currently on Xiidra and Avenova lid spray twice a day. Thank you!!

      @@zoe.c.2116 Thank you! I like both complete and hydration. Complete covers both the lipid and aqueous layer of your tears, so it is a more complete drop, but I also love how the hydration feels... so you can't go wrong. If you want to stick with a preservative free for the ointment, celluvisc is a classic if you haven't tried that. If you sleep with your eyes open, you should check out one of my recent videos: ruclips.net/video/SwTlL-7nprU/видео.html if you haven't already.

    I'm so glad you are educating us suffers, Doctor. You seem so genuine & your explanations are clear & concise. Sometimes my eyes are so dry in the morning, that I have to use my index finger & thumb to open my lids. This happened when I was diagnosed with Vitreous detachment about 8 months ago, and went to 2 Doctors. The first one was laughing haha, it could last 12 months & with no info. I'm retired from the medical field & I let him have it, in so many words about his manner. The second Dr. was a lot more informative & the jellyfish floater is shrinking slowly. With your information, I will now go back & see if I should get a prescription ointment for my nighttime sleep. Thank you again.

    Eye ointment helps keep eyes lubricated at night and also helps heal the eye surface. Cleaning the eyelids made a huge difference to me. I also started taking areds2 vitamin 2x a day instead of 1x. Started fish oil and vitamin d and using much fewer eye drops now and feel much better. I use preservative free with omega 3. So when I'm recovered from the cataracts, then the eyelids get trimmed for the drooping problem which will put the night time opening thing into hyperdrive. Guess I'll be trying the tape and / or the masks to deal with that.

    Hi Doc, In some other videos of yours you mentioned using Hypochlorous acid , I bought some from Avenova today , It said no need to rinse off after applying but I was wondering if I do rinse it of will that diminish its efficiency? Or is ok to either leave it on or rinse ok ?
    Just wondering because my eyes are usually super sensitive to products but I have some mild Blepharitis that optases gel in not helping getting rid off the problem so gonna try this Avenova but I wanted to know if I rinse it off after cleaning my lids will still be effective or leaving it on is a must ? Thanks for the help.

    • @DrEyeGuy

      @@DrEyeGuy one more question if posible. Since Hypochlorous acid help fight overgrowth of bacteria and help keep the area clean for people with MGD and other eye issues, hypochlorous acid kills a wide range of microorganism. But how do you keep a healthy balance of good bacteria on the eyes because you need some beneficial bacteria to keep your eyes healthy as well right?
      This product says you can use it daily twice a day for example, so what are your thoughts on that matter Doctor and what will you recommend for someone with mild Blepharitis and dry eyes? Thanks so much for your input. Your videos are awesome I have learn a lot.

    I always have horrible dry eyes in the morning. I just tried a mask to keep my eyelids closed at night (girlfriend told me my eyes don't close all the way and I didn't realise that may cause my dry eyes until this video), but it didn't work - it's too tight when it actually holds my eyelids. I’ve also tried the systane dry eyes gel and oil drop and the a Vogel drops. I additionally use a humidifier and take omega 3s. I never had morning dry eyes. I just started wearing multifocal contact lenses and now I wake up and my eyes are super dry. Only for about a minute or so, but it is new for me to experience this. I don't sleep in them so I find it odd only when I wake up. I have been doing the heated mask before bed and taking olive oil supplements. Is it possible the contacts are just magnifying an issue I always had? Appreciate any suggestions.

    • @DrEyeGuy
      @DrEyeGuy 2 года назад

      They don't help the dryness or they don't help the pinguecula? The drops won't get rid of the pinguecula. But they can help reduce inflammation, and help your eyes from getting too dry to cause the pinguecula to get worse. A lot of the times the artificial tears are used for prevention, to avoid ocular surface damage.
