I just got a 212 today. I am so pumped. I had to choose between the 212 and a 317 that was beautifully rebuilt but the 212 came with wheel weights the tiller snowblower and deck for 1200$. Great video.
Referenced this video a couple times today as a first-timer attaching my deck to the 210. Thank you thank you! This was the only reference I could find on how to do it. I was getting confused by how to route the belt. As a newbie to the vintage garden tractor world I'm very appreciative!
You make this look so easy... everytime I've helped my kids dad it's involved floor Jack's pulling on the deck height adjustment lever etc... he musta been doing it totally different... also the front plate does it matter what tractor and what deck it goes to???
I have a question: I have a JD 216 tractor, my problem is, when you sit on the tractor, the right foot pedal is seized in the upright position, can you show me how to get it to break loose, as I tried to tap it loose with a hammer and it wouldn’t budge, please help, thank you🙏🙏🙏😮😮😮
take the fender pan off and the petal. When you take the petal off go under the tractor and grease the grease fitting if there is one there after that grab a crescent wrench and tighten it onto the stud the petal goes over once you do that use all your force and push it forward and pull it back it should start freeing up if you need to grab a hollow pipe or bar and use that for leverage. it will take some effort but it should start coming loose if I need to I can make a video on it.
I think I'll go ahead an keep my 110 square fender and take the old engine out and make one of my newer old engines work on it it never hurts to try those things One guys website has the part I need and you need the same part for one of yours too but the guy doesn't sell the parts he has listed on his website which is bullshit kinda stupid to have the site on and not sell the parts so my engine does run good just not on high speed can't find a other part that would work besides the guy that wont sell none of his parts the engine will be coming off and drained then wrap it up and store it in the shed. I hope I can find a belt once I change engines cause that damn 110 is in my parking way of my other mowers I've been working on and I gotta do something with it I might just turn it into a craftsmen mower instead of John deere that's all I have are all old craftsman's the one with the bad transmission is the one i might strip and use the engine from that John deere 110 is just been sitting there all in my way though and I'm sick of it in the way it halfway works so really I'll be getting 2 out of my work space outside once the one craftsmen is stripped I'm putting it the rest of it next to the other stripped craftsmen now I'll have two parts mowers after that's done

On your JD 212 is your mower deck a 47''? if so how long is the belt for top part of mower?
I have a 210 . My manual lift arm isnt attached to anything. What should it be attached to?

Are you selling any electrical pto? I owned a 212 tractor and that’s the only piece I’m missing for my mower to work.
No I am not sorry if I was you I’d find a parts tractor to take it off pto’s by them self are expensive

No they can go on either way but facing towards you is best so the pins easier to get to.
