actually my massey furgeson 6290 sounds pretty cool. I love driving that tractor. the JD 8970 sounds cool because of the N14 cummins and plus the whistle of the turbos on it.
It's set at 10" with just a slight downward angle to make sure that it penetrates the ground when you lower it, but also to allow the blade to cut pretty level below the ground.
i love the sound of them too,...especially when it's cooler and you can open the sunroof or the the doors and hear that exhaust right there in front of the cab. I think my JD 8970 sounds the best out of the bunch. It has the big cummins in it.
This plow design was originated solely by Albert Sturm, (now deceased) in the early 90's in Texas. He spent many hours developing the plow into the highly effective tool that it still is today. He received an official and legal patent on it to protect his efforts. He manufactured many of them and his son still does limited production today. What a shame that someone did not respect his efforts nor the patent rights. Check with Kotara to see when they started building them. Not your fault.
Duals might help. We'll have to play around with it some more. Maybe increase the speed a just a hair. Make sure tire pressures are set right. The ground was extremely hard and dry when we tested it in the video. It hadn't rained in several months, plus some of that was in some red clay. I would definitely think that either one of those tractors dualled up would pull it just fine. I'm just curious how it will do when the ground has some moisture to it. When we run it the next time, I'll
Leonard Davis. Cracking the hardpan will allow the moisture below it to rise and when you get rain, it will soak in rather than runoff. Your crops roots will be able to go deep after the moisture. It a known fact that the hardpan will stop a crops roots from penetrating it.

it handled the mesquite very well. After that one pass, it killed them.

Those 7810s have a bad ass grunt to them all the newer model JD tractors are pretty quite.
This plow is 8' wide. We're getting ready put it to use, now that the ground has gotten some moisture.

Hello, could you please send me the dimensions of the plow leg ...it can help me in my PhD research....thanks
Looks like busting up some very tough hardpan also.
Nice root ripping power with that JD.
I meant dualled up with 4wd should work.
how wide is that plow? and thanks for watching my video.
Great video.Maybe duals would help.Wonder how a 4640 or 4560 would do
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Did they come back?
