Not really. I knew guys and gals whose height could vary from a foot to a few inches depending on hair care products used. Never get a flame around them or a fire could erupt.
Damn, this song sounds 100times better live. New respect for this singer. Came out when i was in High School. But this is the first Ive heard it live. No autotune needed here.
Not exactly the end. Some 80's artists are still around today making the same music. And many are still performing the songs they recorded 30+ years ago.
Gotta say that my heart is firmly entrenched in the 70's for good reason but it's nice to be reminded that there were some good bands guiding us through the eighties and this little rocket was one of them.
It’s a song that has, as far as I know, not featured in a major movie. It’s a film director’s dream type of uplift song. And it’s been around since 1987. At the time, I recall it in the charts. But only now in 2023 do I appreciate its artistic worth. It’s a wonderful song, that has a great groove in the verse, meaningful words, and a let-fly, almost anguished, chorus. Somehow Carol Decker’s high-ranging vocals have fashioned out, dare I say it spontaneously, additional melody lines in that chorus.
FANTASTIC song and performance! 4:10's gotta be my favorite part! Love that slowed down version of the song! Also, Carol Decker's vocals are absolutely amazing here as well! :D
Until I bought the record and read the liner notes, I thought the group had two female vocalists in it. Imagine my surprise when I realized it was all her. It’s still a great song.
This song lead my Sister and I out of Elk city Idaho and back again 30 years later.... If you know where Elk City is, lets talk Green Mountain... 2 of us lived and we remember everything... Idaho is the Wild NEW West
Thanks again mate! Its great seeing these converted from laserdisc, the quality is so much better than any others I've seen. I actually had the video cassette for the whole concert, but God knows where that is now!!! lol :-)
Already an awesome song, but the addition of the guitar just elevated it. What can you say about Carol? Love her voice, hair and energy! Frankly, I would love to have had this version last another few minutes longer with the instruments carrying an extended outro. Brilliant.
They caught lightning in a bottle with this one. One of my fav songs of all time.
mine too
2023 and missing the 80s a lot right now…
I hear you I miss the 80s so much wish I could go back to that time
Her hair is an eighties masterpiece.
Hahhahaha funny!
Not really. I knew guys and gals whose height could vary from a foot to a few inches depending on hair care products used. Never get a flame around them or a fire could erupt.
I think this song came out in 1990s
1987
I stand corrected
Carol nailing it to the wall as usual. What a singer!
This could be their best live performance of this song ever.
How can it be that when bands performed live "before technology" that they sounded way better than they do now?
One of my faveroute T'pau songs....absolutely perfect for her voice....Carol Decker rocks!!
So freaking Hot....and when she sings in that high pitch it makes the hairs on back of my neck stand up.
I watch this and I’m 20 years old, I have a crush on Carol Decker and life is good
Damn, this song sounds 100times better live. New respect for this singer. Came out when i was in High School. But this is the first Ive heard it live. No autotune needed here.
Agree 100 %. The guitar work makes it sound even better and more of a rock song. Plus she is a classy hot lady.
One of the best songs of the 80's. I still play that song, a personal favorite, of all time.
epic tune- 80s gold...BEST decade ever, soo much diversity in music.....till the end....
Not exactly the end. Some 80's artists are still around today making the same music. And many are still performing the songs they recorded 30+ years ago.
Totally agree i was born in 1990, but i love 80s music and clothes
Great song. Epic performance. I remember them in autumn '87. They were bigger than sliced bread.
She's an awesome vocalist!
classic so nostalgic. great live voice
Gotta say that my heart is firmly entrenched in the 70's for good reason but it's nice to be reminded that there were some good bands guiding us through the eighties and this little rocket was one of them.
What a voice!
This is incredible. I enjoy the slightly more aggressive tempo and guitar work.
Definitely has an awesome voice.
Thank you GTA IV for introducing me to this masterpiece of a song. ❤
Awesome performance here!!! Her voice is STILL stunning after all those years!!!

Interesting point you make, and it is surprising that this phenomenal song has never been featured in a movie. Seems perfect for it.
The song was featured in one of the best Black Mirror episodes: San Junipero.
One of soundtrack of my Army time....great years and great singer.
Wow she is so beautiful
Thank you for posting this video. Laserdisc certainly brings back memories of nostalgia of the 80's - Great days😀
An Amazing Singer!
Awesome. ...fucking awesome.

Unreachable music ever from the 80th - good old times, sigh
Great song. Carol has a great voice.
Puts a smile on my face, feels like Ime on stage with her, I better not stomp to loud and wake the neighbor up down stairs

Wish she or they would of put out more albums....love this song ...
FANTASTIC song and performance! 4:10's gotta be my favorite part! Love that slowed down version of the song! Also, Carol Decker's vocals are absolutely amazing here as well! :D

This song lead my Sister and I out of Elk city Idaho and back again 30 years later.... If you know where Elk City is, lets talk Green Mountain... 2 of us lived and we remember everything... Idaho is the Wild NEW West

2020.
Increíble la voz EN VIVO de Carol Decker!!!
❤
Wow.
This is my cut!
I'm surprised her voice is just as good while live.
Not getting a female background singer was certainly a choice but she killed it regardless.
Isn't her voice wonderful x
very very good song--- 80s for ever in the blood-infected with the 80s virus till the death-really. Screw new times cause they mean jack.
MultiMrMiles so true mate! 👍👍
How were they only a one-hit wonder?
Too short...this should be an 8 minute ballad
As you wish.........
Really wouldn't be a bad idea to change the thumbnail to a more flattering image 🤨
..it comes and goes... music has awesome patches... then there is x factor patches..... things can onkly get better theuuuur..... ps 80s is ok.....
Mmm
Amy Adams can play her in a biopic......
Hottest red head on the planet!😍😊
....
Definitely a studio band
Underrated tune. Brilliant. Too bad the album wasn’t nearly as good.
Strawberry Blondie.
Shorty is a 10
watevet
2:55 is the best part..
Great song. Her upper range is great. The "talking" parts are not so good.
I have no problem with the talking part. It has an early hip hop/rap feel.
I thought for sure you were going to get the obligatory RUclips "hurr durr let's see you do better" 🤣
Love the song, but I hate live concerts, all of them. Very seldom they sound like the studio version, which is what I am used to.
Then you shouldn’t watch them lol. And a live version naturally would sound different from a studio one unless it is a lip synch
I thought it was 2 women singing those parts...fooled me.
On the studio recording it was her dueting with a recording of herself but harder to do that live especially in the 80s.
This style of song reminds me a lot of Milli Vanilli
